  1. Hey guys I'm an early feb filer and I just had my aos interview and it was approved! Here is my review Had my aos interview yesterday. Arrived at about 2 and interview was at 2.15 we went in just before 3. The officer confirmed some information like name dob, parents names and address. He asked us how we met he then asked for Photos, he took a few photos, we offered to show some flight itineraries which he took. he asked if we had joint financial documents and we gave him joint lease, car insurance, bank accounts, and phone bill and said "you look like a real couple to me, give me a bit to make copies" we were in and out within 5 minutes we waited for about 15 mins and he came out and said you've been approved! Very easy and relaxed. However I will say some couples went in before us and were in there for over 30 minutes so every situation is different.

    Hey guys.

It's a little more than 1 week to go until our interview so we are trying to get everything ready.

    But I have some questions.

On the interview letter it says that we have to submit evidence for the I-864 form for each of my sponsors (unless already submitted). One of the things they are asking for is letters from each current employer to verify the pay rate etc. For my wife we already included it when we filed. So we dont have to submit another one, right? Is it absolutely necessary for my co-sponsor to get an employment letter? We actually just needed the co-sponsor cause my wife couldn't show tax returns from the last 3 years.

And they also want evidence of my sponsors and co-sponsors citizenship. We already submitted a copy of my co-sponsors birth certificate..we got an RFIE for that. Do we have to take another copy or do we have to show the original at the interview?

And do the tax returns from 2016 have to be the originals or can we just make copies of all pages and take them instead of the originals?

Do we also have to show pay stubs for the past 2 months from my co-sponsor?

Then they are asking for all documentation establishing my eligibility for lawful permanent resident status. What does that mean? I dont know what we have to show for this?

And for the I-94 I can just go online to the website and print it out, right? Cause I dont have one yet.

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi! How did your interview go!!?? I have mine coming up soon and I'm very nervous and confused about if we have to bring ANOTHER employment letter, payslips and tax returns when we just submitted it. Did you bring them and did they ask for them? I'm also confused about the part on the letter where it says 'original and copy of each supporting document that you submitted with your application' what did you make of this?

Any help would be so greatly appreciated, I'm so nervous! eeeek

  3. Hi everyone!

    here is my timeline:

    CIS Office :Los Angeles CA

    Date Filed :2017-02-03

    NOA Date :2017-02-06

    RFE(s) :

    Bio. Appt. :2017-02-27

    AOS Transfer** :

    Interview Date :2017-04-20

SO I just got my interview date!!?????! Is this weird that my EAD and AP still say case was received, and on my timeline it shows that I would receive the EAD and AP after my interview date, so does this mean I wont receive them at all and just the green card first? Things seem to be moving a lot faster than I had expected.. I am bit surprised I have an interview though as I came here on a K1 WITH my fiancé after living together overseas and being together for so long.. oh well I am happy! But a  bit confused :/ Hope everyone's case moves fast too!

  4. It isn't about past income and what you have made so far in the year. It is about current annual income(what you are earning now and projected income for a year's time calculated with that current pay rate), and proving to the CO that you have stable, ongoing income that meets the requirement.

For the K-1 visa, it could be enough to simply show the tax transcript, as for some consulates, that is all you need to prove income for the I-134. Not sure what they want in Sydney, so you should research for your specific consulate. When it comes time for the I-864 later for AOS after you are married, then that will not be enough. The joint sponsor will need to prove their current annual income meets the 125% requirement, and a letter promising to work enough hours will not cut it.

Thank you for your response. I have read that sydney hardly looks at the i-134 so fingers crossed this will be okay.

  5. Hi everyone.

I am really hoping someone will be able to help me.. I am using a co sponsor for the i-134 affidavit of support as I have been living and working overseas and have no US income.

My sponsor has recently left his job where he had been working for quite some time. He had to take time off work work for surgery so he was not working. He has payslips from his previous job where he left in June, already showing he has made 25k YTD. he also has last two years tax returns/W2s which show he has made 47k both years. so over the requirements.

He now has a new job but it is not salary, nor hourly. He gets paid for how many 'jobs' he takes. So the employment letter will not show salary, it will probably show 'this is how much he will make if he works so and so amount, meaning an average salary of xxxxx' He was planning on writing a letter saying he will promise to work x amount of hours in order to support my fiance. Do you think this will be enough? He only has one payslip from them as he hasn't been working much as he is recovering still but will be better soon. He also has already made 25k year to date, will they take this into account also? because that is already over the requirement?

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated as our interview is coming up in Sydney soon and I am freaking out.

  7. Hi all,

I am attempting to fill out i-134 for a k1 visa. I am using a joint sponsor but I know that me being a US citizen I must fill one too.

I have no USA income and have never filed any taxes, as I have lived abroad my whole life. I am very confused, do I list my overseas job when they ask where you are employed or do I leave the section blank?

When they ask if the person wholly or partially dependent what do I put, or am I to leave that blank too as they are not dependent on me as we have a co sponsor? It seems a bit strange that I am to fill this out but would leave most sections blank?

Would love to hear what others with no USA income have put.

    Please help!!

    Thanks

  8. Aussie applicants,

How does the embassy schedule interviews? Are we to call for a date or do they assign it? Do you get packet 3 via email or mail? We're waiting for the NVC number, we've gathered most of the documents needed but trying to get a heads up on next steps. Thank you!

I am wondering the same thing. I think once we have gathered everything for packet 3 they will email packet 4 and that wlil contain the interview date that is what I have read for Sydney consulate anyway

  9. Hi Guys,

Iv'e asked a similar question before so apologies for that but I didn't really get a solid answer.

What I want to know is if I have to attempt to re establish domicile for a k1 visa? (I have never lived in the usa, currently living in Australia with my fiance) Will they ask this at the interview, or will I need it for form i-134 (we are using a joint sponsor) or is re establishing domicile only for the AOS stage?

I haven't seen anything in packet 3 or 4 for the k1 that asks about domicile and i'm quite sure you don't need it for form i-134, unless they ask my fiance at the interview?

I am so confused I have read many things on here and I just want a solid answer. Thank you all so much!!

  10. Hi guys,

I have never lived in the US before so I am going to need to attempt to re establish domicile. I am planing to open a US bank account, enroll in a class/school, apply for jobs and show proof that I have been applying, get a quote from a moving company, get a letter from a friend saying I will be staying with them till I find a place to live, contact a real estate agent and get the ball rolling with looking for places to live. My questions are-

Do you think this is enough?

    Could you recommend anything else?

And at what stage will I need to show this, is it at the interview?

    Thanks so much!
