  1. Hi mochii! regarding your question about chat logs, we just picked out conversations that proves we are "normal" genuine lovers... actually, there were only four pages of chat logs that I had with me during the interview, and on each page it contained 9 screenshots of our conversation.. I tried to make it a point to include the beginning, in between and the most recent conversation we had since we met each other online... so they will see the date and the duration of everything... I also included a screenshot of the duration of our voice calls and video chat from different apps..the other 5 pages (which has 12 pictures on each page) are our pictures when we're together. we also included our hotel bookings, flight tickets, engagement ring receipt (if you have still have a copy)..but take note that the copy of hotel bookings and flight tickets i had with me were incomplete..like, we only had a copy of one way ticket, or we only had one hotel booking copy though we've been to several one's..

My k1 visa was approved in less than 4 months. :)

    Congratulations! :)

Can I ask you something? why did your biometrics appointment take so long if you filed for AOS in October already... you know the reason?

It just seems too much time for me!

    Hi there! Thanks!

Hmmm, I have no idea about why it took that long for my biometrics appointment. But my case status online says that they received my Biomtetrics Fee on 17th of November.. and they received my application for AOS 7th of November.. :)

    What about you?

    That's awesome!!!  I'm still (not-so) patiently awaiting my EAD/AP for I filed in mid-November!

I'm also SUPER relieved to see that not having an SSN didn't impact the approval.  I applied for

my SSN 10 days after arriving and when the employee went to do the e-verification of my status, we realized that CBP made an error in the spelling of my maiden surname on the I-94.

I had to go to a deferred inspection site (luckily my husband is from a border town so it was super close) and have an amended i94 issued.  It took the SSA 7 weeks to verify the correction and issue me a card, by which time the paperwork had already been submitted.

My lesson learned: no matter how excited I get, I need to verify the accuracy of information :-)

    Happy job hunting :-)

Omg, that's true. Lol. Accuracy is so important so the processing won't be delayed. That's why my husband had to do all the filling out of forms because he's more detail-oriented than me. ?

Wow!  Yea, luckily I did all that before I send out the AOS.  I needed to wait for the certified marriage certificate so I figured to keep the process going.  My husband is now applying for jobs so we can get a job offer and have the EAD expedited.  Hoping for the best.

Wow, so you mean you were able to get your SSN when you filed for it when you arrived? That's nice. During my time, we filed Sep. 2016... they said they were backlogged so they weren't able to process my SSN right away before my k1 visa expired.

Nice! Good luck to your husband's job hunting. All the best!

You're welcome amaada! You are absolutely correct about the case to case basis, but it does eases minds like myself to know that persons are indeed making progress somewhere, and I'm ecstatic for anyone like I would be for myself.

That's true. I feel for you! Like when I was freaking out about when to receive my card, good thing my husband just reminded me not to freak out because it's still in the normal processing time. :)

Hey congrats!!! Just for future references, you were able to apply for your SSN the day after you entered the US

Hi, thanks! 3 weeks after I arrived I applied for my SSN right away, unfortunately, they let my application lapse. By the time they looked at it, they just mailed me a notification that they cannot process my applicatiom because my K1 visa has already expired. So I had to wait for my AOS to reapply for SSN.

The online status is the only real-time update. It should update as soon as your case moves forward. If you sometime find yourself long past normal processing times you can always schedule an infopass to try to get information.

Thank you for your response. I was asking because I have read a lot of times the same scenarios that their status got stuck in the same online update even when they're already scheduled for interview, or they were done with the interview, and even when their GC was already mailed to their house.

And I was already done with the Biometrics, but the online update still says they received the fee for Biometrics. Just wondering... ? and then worst, I've read in one of the posts here that their AOS was denied because they "abandoned" the case for not showing up on an interview when they did update thru calls, online, for any progress of their case. ?

  8. Hello. I wanted to ask about what happens after your biometrics? I kept on checking my case status online but it just says Fingerprint Fee Was Received, Case was Received...

K1 from Philippines to USA (CHICAGO)

Oct 2016- FILED FOR AOS (✔)

    Dec. 6- BIOMETRICS APPOINTMENT (✔)

How do I get to inquire about real time update for this? About my interview or any update about it?

To those who have already gone through this, I know it's different for everyone but I just want to know how you waited or proactively waited to know a real-time update of your case status.

Thank you big time for your replies.

  9. Pwde naman siguro as soon as matapos period mo, kasi wala naman urinalysis. And the other concern maybe if may period ka o wala sa last step is because it would be gross for the doctor when it comes to physical exam. Lol! Kasi you will all be naked and she will check your private parts. Just quick, but... Yeah.

And another thing each step they will always ask the date of your last menstruation. I guess it wouldnt hurt if you just had it, as long as it's totally gone.

Anyway, since I was on birth control I have a light spotting everyday... So they can't do anything about it anymore. Lol

  10. Had my interview July 27 and got my passport today (delivered) so it was 5 working days. You probably gonna have it tomorrow. Track your passport via 2Go website using your UID# (the one at your interview confirmation page).

Wow, great! I wish I had my passport as fast as yours. I've been tracking countless times everyday since I had my interview... But it always says "Passport still with US Embassy" or in CEAC just "Ready", or in 2Go "INVALID" using all the numbers I got.

How about you? How was the progress of your status before you got your visa?

  11. I don't think there's a way to expedite. But if you look at the country portal that you're coming out of and check the timelines of those last approved you will get a more realistic view of visa processing times at your location. You really only gave yourself 6 business days between interview and flight (minus the day of your actual interview and weekends). I'd be calling right away to find out about rescheduling my flight if I were you.

Thanks, JR. We'll definitely call, we're just waiting until tomorrow for this. Whew!

  12. I just had my interview July 28th and my medical few days before that.

Please do not wait for Packets 3 and 4 or even email it wont be asked during medical or interview.

Just take a screenshot of the CEAC site which says your status is ready for interview, just in case.

Then book your interview online, not over the phone. :)

    God bless

  13. Hi! That was my question before, too.

What we did, we paid BPI right away and waited that our case says "READY" in CEAC website.

As soon as it's ready, book your interview right away and have your medical done ASAP. :)

That is assuming you have all your documents for interview ready.

I didnt wait for any packet mail or email.

I had my interview just last week, July 28 :)

So be proactive as soon as you have your MNL case number.

    Don't forget to fill out DS 160 if you're K1. :)

  14. Hi!

My interview was last July 28th and was approved right away. My problem now is the release of my passport visa seems to be taking so long since I got a flight on August 7th. (okay, so it's my fault to be booking in advance. Lol)

But I'm asking for any suggestions of what I can do with it.

Can I go to USEM and talk to them about the status of the release of my passport visa or what?

I was told that I only had to wait 5-7 days.

I'm hoping it will have progress tomorrow since it will be 5th business day since my interview. So tomorrow if it wont have any progress I'll definitely start to freak out.

I guess I only have two choices here: one is to change the flight or if there could be a way to make an appeal to expedite the release my passport, it would be best. Huhu. HELP

P.S. I already had my CFO seminar and I'm just waiting for the visa to get the sticker. :)

  15. Congrats sa inyo! :)

Question, ung fiance ko kasi inorder nya ung cenomar nya nung june 2016 online, okay lang ba un sa embassy or kelangan nya kumuha ng bago this month para sa interview nya? :)

At ano ba dapat, magpamedical ng 5-7 working days prior interview or 2 weeks before interview?

    Thanks! :)

Hi! Thanks. Regarding your CENOMAR June 2016 is fine. Akin kasi June din yun eh. Hehe.

Then for medical and interview, 5 working days will do prior to your interview. Anyway, 2days lang naman tlaga yung medical. Hehe.

  16. hi guys kamusta kau kahat.narecieve ko na ang visa ko.for pick up at moa.interview ko last juLY 27.GODLESS

Wow, congrats mheann and thank you for giving us an update. :)

My interview was July 28th and I am still so anxious when I would receive a text that my visa is readg for pick up. I've been checking it everyday online but it always says "YOUR VISA IS STILL WITH THE CONSULATE."

I am hoping to receive a text tomorrow, since yours is already ready for pick up today. :)

  17. So we allocated 10 days after my interview in our return date. So I had my interview 28th, then Aug 7th is our return flight.

Right after getting the medical result, i had extra days before my interview. I used it to have CFO seminar and it only took almost 3 hours since I picked the ONE SESSION WITH ONLY 15 slots. :)

So I'm just now waiting for VISA to be picked up in 2GO SM MOA, that way you will get it earlier than 10 days. :)

The waiting time actually is 5-10 days. :) better make 10 days allowance just in case. So since I already had seminar, I can jsut go to CFO and get the sticker and we're good! :)

  18. Hi! I just had interview yesterday and she will still be approved if ever you can't make it that day of the interview. My fiance arrived midnight after my interview. Lol. He wasnt able to make it.

And yeah, that was our the same problem when we were still processing the BPI payment, medical and interview. We def want to know the return date and the like. But we only decided to get the return ticket after the medical is approved. It was our only source of anxiety for booking a return flight. So then, as soon as we got the result, we bought ticket right away. :) We'll be flying back to US together Aug 7th. :)

So here's what we did that made the process quick!

We paid BPI and then the next day WE BOOKED MEDICAL AND INTERVIEW RIGHT AWAY. There's no sense in delaying as long as your documents are already complete!

We paid BPI like July 14 then booked July 28 for my interview, then pre-registered Medical and then chose to go to St. Luke's ASAP because that's the only thing we need to wait to get return tickets. I went to have my medical July 19th. Thank God it all went well :)

So my interview process just took long because of the lines in each step. But it went so smooth. The interview will be fine for your fiancee, nothing to be nervous about. :)
