Save yourself lots of trouble! Any domestic flight out of the US without AP automatically leads to the abortion of your AOS. You must have your AP to leave the country. Leaving and have someone mail you the AP out will get you in trouble with USCIS when you come back.

To all -> don't make domestic travel plans if you don't have your AP or Green Card in your hand. Don't stress yourself too much.

Hope you all had a great easter weekend!

    Sascha

That doesn't make any sense. You don't need a green card to travel domestically. Also, domestic flights don't leave the US, it's an international flights that leaves the US. We have a wedding in Rhode Island in July and are flying there. My husband does not have his green card or AP, but should definitely not need that to travel domestically. I think you meant to say international not domestic.

I haven't had any updates either. I think you'll get your EAD in May or June...based on the December and January boards, it seems that it's taking over 100 days for most people on average and not the 90 anymore. So we just have to be patient!

You could try to expedite his EAD if he has a job lined up, reason being that it would be "great financial loss" to you both if he didn't get the job. However, I wouldn't try to expedite it for things like having financial difficulties, etc because they could just say "well, you and co-sponsor (if you have one) should be able to take care of him." Good luck! It will be here before you know it.

We don't need the interview for the EAD right? The interview is just for the green card? I'm just hoping the EAD will come in the mail and surprise us since there have been no status updates. Wondering if he needs an AP for Christmas since it's not looking like he'll have his green card before then.

  3. Hi everyone. I posted this on the February 2017 AOS filers forum but it seems it was missed. Previously, we had an infopass appointment to get the dates for our NOAs because they were missing. They wrote us the dates on a sticky note, but other filers are saying they were mailed new ones. We requested new ones 4 weeks ago and they never came.

Also, we had biometrics yesterday. Case status still says fingerprint fee received. Does anyone have an approximate time until we will know if we have an RFE or if we are ready to be scheduled for an interview? Just waiting now and not sure what to expect. Thanks. -Ally

  4. Hi everyone. We requested new NOA's 2 weeks ago, and never got them in the mail. We even went to an infopass appointment and all they did was put a sticky note with the date on. Should we call again?

Today was the biometrics appointment, went super fast. What happens next? I know we have to wait more obviously but approx how long until we know if we have an RFE or interview date? Thanks.

Field offices (InfoPass) do not do biometrics. That would be an Application Support Center which is probably a different address or even town. If you were assigned to the ASC in Orlando, that is probably your closest location for biometrics. You should try to get your biometrics done by walking in Monday or Tuesday before you go to InfoPass. Is your InfoPass also in Orlando? You list Jacksonville as your Field Office.

Our infopass is in Jacksonville because it is closer than Orlando

  6. Hi everyone. Got sad news today, my husbands grandfather has died. Fortunately, we already had an infopass appointment scheduled for Wednesday in Jacksonville for another matter, so we can get the AP approved then yes? Also, my husband's biometric appointment is on the 30th in Orlando, and now we will likely be out of the country at that time. I know there is a way to reschedule as per the instructions on the appointment letter, but if we explain the situation, is it possible they can do biometrics at his infopass appointment this week? I am also worried about him being let back in the country with all this immigration stuff going on. He's just from the UK and the trip likely won't be very long. Has anyone had issues with AP and how does it work? Thanks. -Ally

I went to check my cases online but it said invalid!

do you know the processing times for i485 at the national benefits center?

    Thank you

Are the cases not supposed to be at the National Benefits Center? Our case number also starts with MSC.

So I just got off the phone with a Tier 2 Customer Service Rep regarding the missing dates on my NOA1s.

He gave me the received date and the notice date, for my personal use, and said that the date of birth not being on there is normal.

He also said that the NOA1 is a perfectly fine and valid document even though the dates are missing.

So it looks like we are not all getting the same messages back but it doesn't seem like it's that big of an issue to them.

I am done worrying then :)

That's weird. They said they couldn't give us the dates and said they would send us new ones with the dates on them.

Thank you, I guess I'll just keep waiting for a little longer. Thanks

By the way, They gave me the email to sent an inquiry today: lockboxsupport@dhs.gov

We immediately received an automatic email telling us it will take up to 15 business days to respond :(

Yeah we emailed them as well and got no response. If you used a personal check, once you see it's cashed you'll know your NOA is on the way. We used a money order so we couldn't tell without paying to track it.

    Hello everyone,

I dont know yet if I will fall into the February or March filers yet. :(

I sent my AOS paperwork via USPS Certified Mail on Feb 13th, and it was supposed to be delivered on February 15th. Somehow, the USPS updated with "delayed" and they ended up getting it and signed for it on Feb 20th.

So far, they have not cashed the check or sent any Text/email notification after 14 days of receiving it. I am kinda worried and I have been calling since last week to get an update. They always tell me the same thing: "We don't have anything on file yet. You may want to resend the paperwork again or wait a few more weeks."

Do you guys think I should keep waiting for another week before I do anything? What is your advise?

Thanks a lot for your help

We had the same problem. We called everyday and their advice to us was to wait 30 days, and then they could help us. They said after 30 days they would refer us to the people at the lockbox. It took 19 days to get the text saying they recieved it. We had the packet prepared to send again but didn't have to. It was an ordeal.

I-485 is your overall adjustment, the I-765 is EAD, your Advance of Parole I-131 is missing. In general you only need to submit one notification form for all three applications (if it's adjustment from any other visa it's 4 applications so 4 notifications).

No. We did not file a I-131 as we do not need one. See the photo. We have 2 NOA's, one for the 1-485 and one for the 1-765. IMG_0190.thumb.JPG.639ec0a847e1cb38be464e2668e6e4c0.JPG

Oh that's good that they are just sending new NOA1s now. I read in the January or December AOS Thread that ppl got their NOA1s filled in with their numbers at Infopass appointments.

Well I asked the woman if we needed to make an appointment, and she said no. But if you want I would call to confirm. They said if we don't get one after 2 weeks to call again.

    got paper NOA 2-13-17

All I can say is they are 100% having issues right now. Most people who filed in Feb are getting NOAs very late, and with errors. Most people are getting NOAs with no dates on them, so USCIS is clearly having issues. If you are worried about it, check you case online or give them a call. They are usually helpful on the phone :)

Do you think they are going to send new ones without us having to request them?

If you want, I would call them and tell them yours don't have dates, and then they'll say they're going to refer you to the higher up customer service. Once you request a call back and talk to someone who actually knows what's going on, I would just confirm with them that they know the problem and request new ones. The woman we spoke with said that USCIS was going to send out new ones regardless, but that it wouldn't hurt to request new ones. Just for peace of mind, I would call :)
