You already submitted certain forms and documents to NVC. At your visa interview, you must give the consular officer the original version of each civil document you submitted plus one photocopy for each person applying for a visa. These original versions will be returned to you.  The only form you do not need to bring to your interview is the Form DS-260 Application for an Immigrant Visa. Instead, print a copy of the receipt page from ceac.state.gov showing you submitted the form online.  If a financial sponsor submitted an I-864 Affidavit of Support form, you must give the consular officer a signed version. It can be a photocopy, but the signature cannot be typed or electronic.  If you do not bring to your interview the original version of all civil documents submitted to NVC, the consular officer will reschedule your interview.

Sure, just make sure he gets the I-551 stamp on his passport which serves as his temp GC.

I believe it should be ok to cross back. Just get the green card express posted (family member) back to your home in Canada. Similar to how they send your passport with the visa on it.

yea local medical center us kinda reluctant for conducting medical anything more than 3 weeks before the big day. they do provide the results within 3,4 days so that's a plus.

Woot woot all went well!! The consulate has already sent his passport back to the address we requested so he'll be without the passport officially 2 full day's. Crazy fast!!!

I updated it yesterday and mine didn't show, so i did it again last night and it didn't show again. just did it again this morning <3 i haven't seen the update yet, but my scan is 4/10 and in review 6/12!!! scary and exciting all at the same time... i checked my paperwork at least 40 times lol but you never know!!!

Yes I think they need to specify exactly what documents are needed based on the fact that we are all from different countries. So instead of it being so broad on the website, when they send the welcome letter make it known specifically what's needed. That way we all don't have to panic when someone gets a checklist.

Thanks! I may try in the Morning then. Our lawyer says she will also send an inquiry next Friday if nothing has changed. I guess senators office will be next but hopefully it doesn't have to go that far 😒

If you call early tomorrow morning @ 8am it wont take but 2 minutes or less for someone to answer. I've done it 3 days in a row ;-)  @UsSwedlover got the state senator involved and they helped the case along. They will make an inquiry on your behalf if you request it. Just go to your senators page :-D 

Yeah, that sucks...more and more, seems like that don't want to tell us if our case is under review..

updated and made a note in the awesome questionnaire!! I leave the Spreadsheet open most all day and refesh every few hours, so when poeple update its like getting a birthday present lol!!   thank you  im sure its a horrible place to work!!! i hope we wont have to scan again... he has been hired at a job already and they are expecting him by end of August at the latest which is easily attainable if we don't have to scan anything extra... everything in the checklist was sent in + more, so i would ASSUME they don't.. but again, this is the american government. 

I totally agree! i would also love to hear the explanation on the separation of countries... lord knows streamlining a process would be WAY to simple for the american government lol  

Your NOA2 is just going to tell you that your petition was approved and is being sent to the NVC. NVC will ask for financial info. Medical and interview info happens after the case is complete at NVC.

Potomac is the newer service center, which I guess is why it's harder to find the processing times. The USCIS website lists the I-130 processing time at Potomac at 5 months. Mine was recently approved there after 4 months. This seems somewhat faster than at least the Nebraska service center, so if you're feeling impatient after just 3 months, you're in for a long journey here!

Just choose Potomac under service center. You'll see the recent approvals, which include cases from July through September. There are still cases from June who have not had their petitions approved. There have been zero cases from October approved yet from Potomac on this site. Be patient... you'll get there!
