I have a friend who when through Chicago for POE on February 24th.  She is from Iran.  Her visa was issued prior in early December.  She was coming on a CR1 visa and made it through with no real difficulties.  The only thing she mentioned to me was that she was confused about what to do and where to go and there was no one to answer any of her questions.  From the time the plane landed to when she appeared outside of the Customs area was 2 hours.  She did not face any additional screening.

Thank you for your reply, My flight after 2 days so i wish everything will be fine and normal.

Thanks @kalelaimy and @eslamhassan for your quick replies. :) Truly appreciate it!

We will schedule the medical appointment about 3 weeks prior to his visa interview appointment isa. I hope their will be no issues when the time comes about slots available at Al Sharouk. How quickly do they give you back your medical examination packet?

    Hi all!

Which hospital and doctor is better to have your medical examination done at/by?

    Dr. Magda Ramzi Habib
    Anglo-American Hospital

    or
    Dr. Hesham El Boraolosy
    Dr. Eman Roshdy
    Al Sherouk Hospital

Al Sherouk is actually much closer to us... But we do not mind going to Anglo-American if it's better.

We just got case complete but have not been scheduled an interview appointment yet, so another question I have is: How soon once we get the interview appointment should Ahmed go and have his medical examination done?

    Thanks!

I think you shouldn't be in hurry to make the medical examination because the visa validity is determined from the date your medical exam done, so i suggest if you do the exam before your interview date by 3 weeks at least.

I did my medical exam at El Shorouk Hospital and they are good and didn't face any problems there.

it's going to cost you about 1800 L.E for all medical exams, X-Ray, Lab. & Vaccinations.

    Best Regards

Here's some reviews about Chicago as POE : http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php?poe=Chicago&dfilter=0

If you have a connecting flight from Chicago, generally people say allow 3-4 hours between flights to make sure you clear immigrations in time and still can get back through security to make the next flight. Just saves a lot of stress about worrying if you're gonna make the next flight.

Thanks for ur help. appriciate it.

  5. First of all thanks to God and to all VJ members for all the help and info. i got from here.

Today i had my interview done and got Approval for my CR1 Visa in US Embassy in Cairo, Egypt. And the interview was very easy just lasted for 5 minutes and the CO was very polite and cheerful.

I am just writing this to give a hope for everyone still in the process and to give an advice to be relaxed because i experienced how to be so nervous before the interview and just be well prepared.

    Thanks,

    Kareem

My fiance was verbally approved and handed a slip of paper saying he was approved on Feb 24th, but when we check the DS-160 status, it says no status and we only have his Application ID, we did not get a case number from the embassy! They kept all the paperwork, and it says his passport is currently with the embassy. Should we be worried, or are they slow to update as it is the weekend?

You shouldn't worry at all, it would take about 2 weeks until you receive the passport with the visa.

  7. Hi VJ members,

I need your help ASAP, while i was checking my DS-260 inputs i found that i did a big mistake in the question asks about if there is a previous spouse and previous spouse details i answered yes and added my wife's ex-husband details which they are already divorced, however i was not married or divorced before. (The mistake that i thought this question is asking about petitioner status my wife not me the applicant). I already have a copy of my wife divorce certificate in case they ask about it in the interview.

what i need to know: 1. Should i tell the CO that i did this mistake while i filled the form ? or just don't mention anything ? i am asking because it's already passed from NVC and approved.

    2. In case i mentioned that i did this mistake in the form while i fill it, Will this delay my CR-1 Visa approval and issue in the interview ? or this will make me put in Administrative processing ?

    Thanks,

  8. I just got email from NVC that the embassy refused my expedite request, althought I have seen many approved expedite requests. However I mentioned same reasons and more reasons than others included and their request accepted... I am really feel sad ? but at least now I know that US Embassy in Egypt approve expedite requests very very very rare. Anyway I must still keep positive because that's the only option now... Anyway is there anyone from Egypt knows how long normally the avarage it takes from case complete to get interview appointment in Egypt!!!????

  9. Just took the police report and court record to translator service to get them ready for NVC package, the guy told me I shouldn't translate them and i should send only original because of NVC had trouble with poeple falsifying those report especialy arabic countries Wich is my case too(morocco)..so i decided to send oroginal with English translation to avoid any problem..am i doing the right thing ? Any help guys ?im confused what to send and what's not to send ?

I was in same situation and will tell you my advice to avoid any delays, first you must get a police record then you should search for a certified translator not just anyone I am sure that US Embassy in Marocco deal with some certfied translators, after you get a translation for your document from a certified translator you should send a copy of it along a copy with the original police certicate. You should only send a copy but in the interview you must bring all originals.
