Thanks for the reply. Actually I recently renewed my passport and did a police certificate for it as well. So i read somewhere that i can collect that from the passport office in that case. Is that true ? Can i do that ?

Yes, for India we are only required to get PCC for our local Passport Office. If you recently updated your passport, than you should get PCC within a week.

I wish I can call but according to the updated islamabad embassy website, they do not accept any calls related to immigrant visa. I did email in regards to getting a new passport so let's see what they say. I will probably email them further more to ask for earlier interview.

I am surprised how quickly my case has been going. they sent the documents on the 16 so that was quick that it reached the embassy

My wife is going to have her interview in Mumbai, India. I tried to get an earlier date for interview, but we need to have a legit reason for getting an earlier date. From what they said it sounds like they will not prepone our interview just because we have completed our medical earlier.

I don't think it would hurt to email your embassy and request an earlier date. It's all good to ask rather than just giving up without trying.

I have a question that I hopes you folks can help me answer. When I recieved my NOA2 it said my case has been sent to NVC.

However reading people's post here it looks like you get a different message when USCIS ACTUALLY sends your case on to NVC? Is that the case?

Those of you that got a second notification telling you that your case was sent to NVC did you also have on your NOA2 that your case has been sent to NVC?

POTOMAC isn't updating the website or sending email/text notifications my case still says case received even though I got the NOA2 in the mail 2 weeks ago.

I would suggest that you call NVC and see if they have received your case yet. That is the best way to find out if NVC has received the case.

Just got off call with them, they want w-2 for 2015 I know I send it but I guess it may got lost or something so now I will just have to send to my wife and she will take at the interview..

I call them today too and Friday but they haven't said anything about checklist I just got email about 2015 w-2 saying its low income what a joke? Income is over 100K... but yet they said my case was completed on call both times.. I will try to call them tomorrow and find out if this checklist have any mean to it..

Maybe it is a false checklist. Just call and confirm regarding the email. Are you seeing 3 N/A's as well?

How long do they take to send the interview package email? I never got any emails about my case complete so I'm worried. I have no idea what to prepare for the interview!

Also, is there any requirements you need in order to schedule a medical? Since we got our interview can we go ahead and schedule it?

It usually take one week for the interview appointment email. You will need this letter when you go for medical exam, but you can schedule the exam without the letter. I would suggest to go ahead and schedule your exam and the letter will be here soon.

When can I send the package to NVC? After AOS status is paid or after IV status changes to paid?

As soon as you pay AOS fees. You don't have to wait for it to be processed.

Received interview letter last night. Interview scheduled for October 14th at 7:30 AM.

They scheduled it on 23rd August and I received the email on 30th August.

Hey guys, we had a CC on 8/19/16 and have an interview date of 10/3/16. However, we have not received any single email or letter notification as of today. We called to confirm this info with NVC but they keep telling us to wait for the email however, our case is indeed complete and we do have an interview date. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I am getting concerned because my wife will need this notification in order to schedule a medical appointment.

Hey, I am in same boat. My wife interview is scheduled on 10/14/16. We are still waiting on interview letter.

Go ahead and schedule medical for like 2nd week of September because you don't need interview letter to schedule medical appointment. They are required to take it to medical though. I am hoping before her medical we can get interview letter. But don't wait on letter to schedule appointment.

I got my interview letter today in email, need to know if I can book my bio-metrics and medical in advance.

According to them it is fine to do it, but medical will only last for 6 months.

I have received the hard copy of NOA2 for my CR1 visa. They mentioned that they have sent the visa petition to rhe NVC.So I wanted to know when can i call them and verify that they received my petition at NVC

Check USCIS website using your receipt number for status. Usually in 2 weeks USCIS will send your petition to NVC.

Since you are waiting at this point, please read the instruction in the very first post of this thread. It is very valuable and will get you through NVC faster. Gather all required documents as applicable to your case and send it to NVC as soon as you pay AOS fee.

The lady at the doctors office where my husband will do his medical exam said to bring 4 pictures. Do we need still to take the 2 to the interview?

Yes, it is completely separate things. Please take more than they ask. 4 for medical and 2 for interview minimum.

They did not. However we called on Monday and they said they were still waiting to hear back from Mumbai consulate. We called today and found out it has been scheduled. It def was scheduled this week so it can range from 8/23-8/25. Not sure if that helps.

Hey guys, its been a week since our case was complete but we received no notification via email. So we decided to give NVC a call so we can ask if everything is ok and when can we expect an email. They told us we will be receiving an entirely different email soon because we just got our interview date. Oct 3rd at Mumbai Consulate! CC was 8/19/16. Grateful for a fast interview date. Hoping the best for everyone.

Did they tell you which date they scheduled your interview? I am just trying to figure out when we can except for interview letter.

No I haven't heard from anyone yet. I am going to call Mumbai Embassy and ask them directly on Monday.

I will post here whatever I find. I feel like it should be no issue though.

My hubby got his visa in hand on Monday. He finallyyyyyy arrived yesterday night. POE went smooth through Boston. Glad all this is done.

Now another wait begins for SSN and green card.

Question.... I have interview scheduled in September in China. We signed up with CGI to get passport back after interview. The medical is scheduled. Is there any other things that have to been done? Is there any other fees? If so when are they paid? Is the biometrics the Medical exam or is that something different?,,Does anyone know how our packet got to China so fast. On the CEAC site is says ready that was only 1 week after CC, Was wondering if the email it there. If they do how did they get relationship picture evidence there.

Bio-metric exam is different compared to medical exam at least for India. For India we are responsible to make an appointment for bio-metric before the interview.

Have you received an email for NVC with instruction? It might be included in that email.

Can the fingerprint/bio-metrics be done 2 weeks prior to the interview date? or should it be close to the interview date? and the same for the medical examination can it be done 1 week prior to the interview?

I have same question. Planning for medical before one month.

From what I know is that medical reports are good for 6 months. So as long as all the other process is completed within time frame we should be fine. It will help if someone else can clarify that though.

Yep, you don't have to worry than. Just obtain PCC from passport office it will take about a week.

@harry13 what is the validilty for pcc police clearaance certificate 1 year or 6 months her passport is alredy in my name addded on their so that will be smooth for me and i just want to know if i get the pcc today how long will that work for and validity for thanks guys ap[reciated and lets do this smooth process of the nvc with all togherher

PCC is valid for one year. Yes get an appiontment with your local passport office for PCC. If you spouse have every stayed in foreign country for more than one year after turning 16, than PCC is also required from that foreign country. It will go smooth just read instruction and double check all information that you are providing.

No, that is the standard answer for everything at NVC lol. Mine was received in about a week and half.
