FrankEPatrick got a reaction from Crazy Cat in Lifting of Conditions
thank you' Missleman the important bit of information that I needed regarding the 18 month extension.
The only unfortunate issue is that she will have to go to the DMV 2 more times

Based upon my experience at the DMV, they are not accommodating the I797 since there is no end date on it.
Ditto with the bureaucracy of the her volunteer position.
I have a solid 10 months to plan so I am not worried right now just trying to prepare.
The DMV has been alot of fun

FrankEPatrick got a reaction from little immigrant in Family in Immigration Ban Countries
It looks like any type of Iranian entering america is banned except for students and visiting scholars.
No tourist visas?

Not looking for her to work; just when a baby is born it is a busy time; so an additional family member to help with the cleaning and the cooking is useful; just a normal family visit not looking for a nanny; just normal things families do for one another.
It would be nice to have them visit given the new baby.

I am a US citizen, born in america.
My wife is on a 2 year conditional green card; I believe we apply for lifting conditions in about 1 year.
Her family is in Iran with only Iranian citizenship.
However, my wife is pregnant; and it would be nice for her sister or her mother to come when the baby is born to help out for a few weeks; is there any Visa pathway to get her family temporarily in the US, and anything I can effectuate within the next six months or so?
any ideas would be appreciated.
