As an Australian going through this process, I would make sure you are both 100% committed to this relationship before starting the process. I have been with my partner for 2 years and we have known each other almost 5 years. It is daunting and even though it does take some time, there are time limitations.
    1. Be ready to marry at any moment. Do not expect this to take 8 months and not be ready to marry. Know within yourselves that this is absolutely what you want and in moving to another country. As RandiandYuni already stated...for me too this is happening amazingly quickly considering what I was originally looking at (THANK GOD). But keep in mind, from the moment you are granted the visa, it expires in 6 months and from there, once you enter the USA, you have 90 days.
    2. It is not an easy or cheap process. There are a lot of costs involved including the VISA, Medicals, Passport photos and mailing of packages etc. Make sure you and your partner are ready for these costs.
    3. Have everything ready as others have said. There is a lot of details etc and you will be need to be prepared!!
    Good Luck with the process

We are all here in the same boat. We are all being patient and trying our best to keep it together with the long process ahead of us. Some of us have long waits to see our fiancees and we are all wanting to just be with them already. I think it is just a little frustrating to see the impatience. Relax and let things run its course. Bugging them and constantly wanting your visa now now now is not going to make it come any sooner. Sorry, but just relax. It will come when it comes and it is on its way like all of ours. Ringing, harrassing them is not the way to go unless you truely are worried your application is not where it should be. I am guessing that would be in a month as opposed to a week. Remember this isn't about the visa and getting into the country. It is about being with your fiancee
    Hi,
I am wondering if anyone else is having the same slow time processing between noa2 and NVC receiving/processing.
I got my NOA2 on June 9th 2016, and received the hard copy letter the following week - which states I should allow 30 days for processing. However I have seen based on information on VJ that most people are issued a case number at NVC 2-3 weeks after NOA2.
I called NVC at my 3 week mark and they advised they had not received it and that it can take up to 6 weeks for them to receive from USCIS - which totally contradicts the information on the NOA2. I called them again at the 4 week mark and still they have no record.
I don't really want to wait until 6 weeks to discover that it may be lost in the system? And also think they are saying 6 weeks just to stop me calling them.
This was posted from another thread. They are advising people to wait up to 6 weeks to receive the cases before calling. Many other people have posted the same thing. If you look in the thread under NVC.
