  1. I am very happy to say that the EAD/AP card is finally here in hand!!!! It has been a long journey but I'm so thankful to this site and thankful for all the positive people that have been motivating and encouraging from start to finish. It's amazing the progress that happened starting with the K1 and now EAD, in a time of a little over 1 year. Best of luck to everyone who is still waiting. Love wins. God Bless!

    Timeline:

    AOS/EAD/AP sent: 3/25/17

    Received: 3/28/17

    Biometrics: 4/28/17

    EAD/AP approval: 6/10/2017

    EAD mailed: 6/13/17

    Combo card received: 6/19/17

  2. It would probably be better to reapply with a CR-1 after marriage.... spend more time together and do more visits. The evidence has to be over the top strong since it seems they doubt the validity of the relationship, most likely from the age difference or It could even be the circumstances on how you met. Keep up hope, it's all a long tough process. Best of luck!

Ok, here is another thing. Technically they told him that his visa would be ready in two weeks. Two weeks from the interview which was Dec 20. Now the doctor told him to come back January 12, 2017. Im starting to think he really didnt need those shots if they told him to come back in two weeks to pick up his passport. The dhl did him a receipt saying he drop his medical results off to the dhl office

I believe its standard for the CO to advise the applicant to pick up the visa in 2 weeks. The clinic and embassy are separate entities that work together to provide the service of visa processing, the shots and examination are all apart of the requirements that go along with the visa process. If your husband felt that he had already taken some of the shots before he could have taken his previous shot record to show what shots have been administered in the past so that they could have been documented in the medical exam (if allowed.) All applicants have to meet the same criteria and shots, there are no real short cuts. The best advice I can give is to make sure you have submitted a COMPLETED medical exam to the embassy and that your husband continues to follow up with the embassy to ensure that the results are reviewed and processed accordingly. In my mind this seems like the fastest way for you guys to be together. Good luck

If he needs the second hepatitis shot, wouldn't the embassy call him? They called before to say they were waiting on his medical results. He has a receipt that the DHL office gave him after droppinf of the medical exam results

I believe within the medical results it states the shots that were given, so that's pretty much like asking for the same thing....From what the situation seems like, he would need to find a way to have the Embassy confirm receipt of the results and enter the information into the system to release the visa to DHL, he may have to keep trying to follow up with the embassy.

  5. Is he sure that the embassy has received the results? Is there a way to track if the results were delivered to the embassy? Maybe he should try going to the embassy at 1pm with the blue slip and the receipt from DHL to follow up. Also, are you also sure that he doesn't just need to get the last series of Hepatitis B?....I agree that he does not need to get another tetanus shot. It seems like the stall is in the embassy opening and recording the results and completing the paperwork so that they can send it off to DHL for your husband to pick up the visa.

The lady at the DHL office told him that he needs to contact the NVC. Today he went to the DHL office and they still don't have his passport. Smh

Please how did you know it was available for pick up???? Did you track it or you were told at the DHL office when your fiancé got there today???

After approval the CO said the visa would be available in 2 weeks and to come back and pick it up. My fiance checked the embassy 2 weeks after the interview (January 18th)  and it was not there. Then today after reading this thread, I asked him to go to DHL. I did not get any notification or email. I only noticed that on January 13th the CAEC site status changed to "Issued".... He just went by chance and it was there. When he was at the DHL office he inquired about the process and his frustration about not knowing where to go. They told him that it was actually at DHL the whole time, ever since January 18th.

I've seen "available for pick up"

Does it mean it has to change from "Issued" to "available for pick up" ???

Thank you. The last status updated on the CAEC site is "issued"

i meant available for pick up as in I could have picked it up as early as 1/18/17 because it was ready at that time, but unfortunately we did not know where to go.

Good luck.... Please update us if anything.. Thanks

My fiancé picked it up from DHL today, apparently it was available exactly 2 weeks after the interview. Here is my timeline:

    Interview: 1/4/17

    Status Change: 1/13/17

    Available for pick up: 1/18/17

    Picked up from DHL: 1/24/17

Very strange, usually issued is the last status before your visa arrives or being picked up. Ready is usually the status you get before the interview, not after it already said issued. Must be a Ghana thing.

Exactly! I thought it was the same procedure. Accra Consulate is just backwards on everything ?
