  1. Our interview was successful! They took his passport and said to come back October 6th to pick up the visa. Is this too early to celebrate an approval? We're trying to figure out flights but unsure if we should wait until the visa is in hand. What are you all doing - buying tickets right away or waiting until you physically have the visa?

Hi Congratulations!!! Woohoo, time to celebrate!! For the tickets, you can start browsing just to get an idea of the cost but I would recommend waiting until you have the visa at hand before you purchase the flight tickets as anything can happen at this point. It's always good to be on the safe side. Congratulations again :)
  2. Hey all

I have scheduled my interview on July 26th. Interview date is 20th of September. CSC sent me emails. I called a few times to check with them if everythings ok and they said yep, everything is fine. your interview is on 20th.

well the other day, I have received an email from Ankara Embassy and now it says my interview is on 26th of September (!?). I checked CSC website. Gave them call and they all say it looks like your interview in on 20th.

Embassy's website doesn't work and there are no other ways than filling up a form to ask them whats going on.

The thing is now that its holiday here between 12nd and 16th. They do not work. There are no one to talk or ask whats going on. I am quite annoyed. Because I already booked an hotel and flights. also take days off from work.

What should i do now? CSC website and call center says its 20th but you should contact to embassy about it.

Go to interview on 20th or dont?

Further instructions regarding your visa interview appointment for are detailed below.

    Scheduled Your Interview 26 SEPTEMBER 2016 @ 08:30

We have received your petition and case file. To proceed, you must schedule an interview appointment through our visa information service partner's website: https://ais.usvisa-i...ormation/k_visa

Print out this email and bring it to the Embassy along with the other requested documents. Please note that failure to provide requested documents or information may lead to a consular officer rescheduling your interview or otherwise delay processing your case. If you need to edit your submitted DS-160 visa application, please notify the consular section using the contact form so that the changes may be saved before the interview day.

This is the email i got from embassy

This is quite strange; why is CSC still getting in touch with you? Based on my knowledge, after the NVC sends the file to your embassy, you have to follow what the embassy says. If the embassy says your interview is on the 26th, then i think it's on the 26th. What does your appointment letter from the embassy says? I think it's safe to follow it. But that's just what I think, I don't know what they really want.
  3. For those who are done with the process and have flown to the US, I have a question to ask.

For the flight ticket, it's cheaper for me to buy a fan fare from Cathay Pacific but the problem is there's a return flight and it's a two-way flight. Is this okay? I worry they might question why it isn't a one-way flight and doubt everything and may think I have intentions in coming back to my country when really, I'm just in it because it's cheaper. Any insight on this?

  4. Hey everyone,

My fiance entered the US this past Friday-- exactly 6 months since our NOA1! I am soooo happy to be "done" with this phase and for us to be together! Good luck to everyone... the wait is well worth all the stress. (L)

Congratulations!!! So happy for you! I'll be having my interview on the 13th and hopefully to fly by the end of sept. Praying for a smooth ride from here. I'm already feeling them butterflies in my belly!! Hahahaha

  5. Hi everyone :goofy:

I have a question about Official U.S Visa Information and Appointment Services. I'm so confuse between Temporary Visa and Permanent Visa. When i click temporary visa which is non-immigrant there is no option for K1 visa. But under the permanent visa which is immigrant K1 visa is available.

Should i go for Permanent Visa which is Immigrant? But K1 visa is under non- immigrant, right?

    Please advise

    Thank you

    Hi,

I know it's confusing, I've gone through the same thing. Just click wherever the K1 visa is. :)

  7. Ok, I don't mean to sound dumb but I also don't want to get my hopes up. What does this mean??

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://nvc.state.gov/interview

We haven't received anything by mail or email. Do we wait till we get something or schedule the interview??

    Hi,

Different embassies have different way of processing things. Some allows you to schedule an interview date and medical appointment on your own while some schedules it for you and you have to wait for the packet for instructions (like me). You could look up how your embassy in your country handles these things. You can go to their website and email them to inquire as well. I did that as well as went to Hong Kong consulate forums on here and messaged people from the same country as me to help me with the process. Wish you all the best with your case! :)

  8. The time it took was mostly in waiting. We stood in line outside for her to get a decal stuck on the outside back of her passport, then stood in the next line over so we could go inside (and I had to throw away my cigarettes and lighter) where we went through a metal detector, then stood in line so she could get a number stapled to some of the documents we brought, then went inside the inner complex, where we went through another metal detector, then sat and waited to stand in line for Window 1 where the Philippine interviewer asked a few questions, including "do you want a Tagalog interpreter" (she said yes), then she stood in line to get fingerprinted, then we sat and waited and waited, to stand in line where she took an oath to tell the truth, then we sat and waited and waited some more to stand in line for the interview.

How did you first meet? (Filipino Kisses)

When did you first meet in person?

How long was he here the first time?

How many times has he been here?

    Has he met your parents?

What did your parents think of him?

Where did he propose and how?

How did you react to his proposal?

(To me) Where do you live? What do you do for a living?

(To her) What does he do on his free time when he isn't working?

How do you keep in touch?

Do you two ever argue? (She answered no.)

(To me) Is that true? (I said I'm working on getting her to feel equal to me and every time she says no to me, I cheer.)

Laughter from the interviewer and the interpreter

You are approved. I'm sure he's a good guy but if you ever receive any domestic violence, here's a pamphlet that explains how you can get help. It will not affect your visa at all.

    Done.

Haha wow, that sounded very comforting, thank you for sharing this and congratulations to the two of you! :) woohoooo!

  9. Just to update you guys with my case and to hopefully help those who are going through the same thing, I have ordered another CENOMAR online to have it shipped by FedEx (or else it's going to take 6-8 weeks if it's through registered mail). I have followed the footsteps from people on here that have dealt with this issue in the past. I have made a FedEx account and emailed the ECensus (CENOMAR portal).

However, it takes 2-3 days for them to reply and my biggest stress was that they dispatch this order again without shipping it by FedEx. I didn't want to risk it so I researched my heart out and managed to dig up information in the Internet and stumbled upon their number in a forum dated 5 years ago (it's not on their website). So, I was hoping with all my might that the number is still the same. I managed to get through the first ring (surprisingly) and they are helpful and will ship my CENOMAR by FedEx today. I can finally relax and put my mind at ease.

Hoping it's a smoother process from here on. With all the frustration and problem-solving that this visa has brought me, I feel like I am more confident to deal with life, in general. Also, it has made me a more patient person.

But if you ask me, honestly, I would NEVER want to do this ever again. Haha! :)

  10. So there's a little bit of a hurdle. I have sent out packet 3 last week to the Hong Kong embassy and I have recieved a letter from them telling me they can't schedule an appointment until they recieve the Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) from the Philippines. I have already paid and applied for it 2 weeks ago but I have just recieved a message saying it's still on its way to being processed and will be arriving 6-8 weeks later........... :( With my wedding being closer everyday, I am kind of losing time.
