  1. I'm still not unpacked! Spent so much time yesterday just shredding and opening 3-weeks worth of mail just cause I didn't feel like doing anything else. Well, I did do some other stuff, but it's not worth mentioning here. And for some reason I've spent a lot of time on VJ catching up - guess, just trying to distract myself from missing my husband.

This new phone company that I've been using doesn't recognize the phone number of his brother's cell phone, so I still can't call him or pretty much do anything. Spent all day long yesterday trying to just pick up the phone for 'out of area' calls when he'd call me. Turns out it wasn't him all the time, and I missed quite a few of 'out of area' calls and was freaking out cause of that!

Speaking of mattresses, I have to clean mine - a cat did #1 on it while I was away, I slept on it 1st night - didn't notice :bonk::lol: . It's not actually too noticable, but the smell!!! Guess, I'd better take care of that so it dries with a nice smell? No, I'm going to clean it and really flip my mattress! Thanks for the idea, Henia!

Good to hear your husband's better, inshallah, he'll be fine soon! I'll make dua for you.

    Happy Mother's Day everyone!

I'm actually home alone on Mother's Day! Guess my ex will be alone on Father's Day! Revenge is sweet!!!

    Happy Sunday everyone!

  2. I have to agree with these:

    5. You already know which routes and flight times to your SOs country

    6. You know what is served on flight and the entertainment even before boarding

    7. You have had to buy new suitcases within the last 6m cos they wore out - well, i didn't just yet. But this time my wheel on the suitcase broke. So, if I have to go back again :girlwerewolf2xn: :girlwerewolf2xn:

    8. I know the drivers and the way they do things for Dave's limo, which is a van service I've been using.

    9. I know my way around JFK's terminal one - and I only had to use it for going to my SO's country.

    10. I have too many bags with socks from RAM - I started giving the bags away - they're pretty cute.

    11. I know the best spot on the plane now, and I always pick my spot when I book the flight on the internet.

    12. I travel with a pillow from a dollar store, just so I can take naps on the van, and usually I'm the only one that's napping there comfortable.

    13. I check my passport for the new stamp when leaving just to make sure it's there and I have no problem. It took 3 people to find the stamp in my passport this time-it's almost invisible!

    14. I'm such a pro at packing that everything gets here just fine, and I got a lot of stuff this time.

Sorry, this sounds pretty boring, nothing funny

Well, they did make me leave the toothpaste I put in carry on by accident.

Ok, funny stuff. 'Always' pads made in Pakistan are better than ours!!! Way better and more expensive. They have some kind of nice smelling jel inside and are advertised on TV in Morocco! I even opened one and made my son smell it    He was, like, what's wrong with you?

  3. Just wanted to say that you're in my prayers and I'm sorry for all your sufferings, Aisha. Stay strong, sister, Inshallah, you'll get your way!

My two cents: the King doesn't want to make anything better over there, only what's needed for him. I'm sure he's richer than you and he doesn't do anything to change the country, even though, he could!

So, if you're in a poor corrupt country... trying to beat the system.... good luck there!

I wouldn't do that, but it's your choice. Do what others suggested to you, go to Spain and come back. Hope, you won't have to deal with the same man again after you return. Cause if you do, he might become even more stubborn and want even more money! Which you didn't want to do in the first place. Anyway, you do what you think is best for you, just think if it's worth all the heartbreak and problems on the way.

May Allah give you strength and a quick solution to all your problems!

Good luck and keep us posted!

    Tanya

  4. It's Ok, Natalie. Honest mistake. Take it easy, girl! We've actually e-mailed Casa while I was there, last week and got an 'out of the office' auto-reply. Not sure if going there would have helped our case any, but my husband thought, it was worth a try.

I just wish they were open when I was there, at least I wouldn't feel so bad leaving.

  5. Sorry, no advice. Just wanted to say, sorry to hear about your husband's problem. Hope you'll find a solution soon. I keep sending my husband to doctors when he complains about his problems, but he doens't want to go. So, I don't know what to tell you.

Also, you must be fireproof, cause I wouldn't go in June even if it was free or if I got paid for it, just too hot for me. I just got back yesterday and was already getting tired just from a few hot days.

    Good luck!

  6. Good for you, Iysha.

This time my husband's relatives didn't let me do anything! I tried making banana bread, thought they had everything on hand! Oh yeah! Get the eggs, the milk and the baking soda. Bananas too. Then his grandma and him started screwing with the oven... Oh man!

Maybe the baking soda is different there? It didn't rise too well and they were opening the oven like 5-6 times, so of course the bread fell and was blah.

My olives don't have any lemons in them , but they're still very good, plus I got the spicy pepper sause!

I used it in harira and they laughed at me... Well, they laughed at a lot of stuff I did. Of course, now I feel terrible! I woke up and wanted to hug his uncle's baby! Silly me, I'm home now :bonk:

And I finally learned how to wear a hidjab, so not too many people would stare at me! Ok, going back to the messed up house - three cats and 2 teenagers.

  7. My guess would be that your fiance has to try to get it on Monday and if possible, just come to the Consulate and give it to the lady personally. That would be the best! I hope he can get the right papers real quick! I missed the time when they were screwing around with the case - I did call and tried to do something about it, but it wasn't just a wrong paper. It's a screwed up Consulate! They do it to a lot of people there!

So, now, 15 months later, just coming back from Morocco after visiting my husband and leaving him on our 2nd!!! wedding anniversary!!! I am trying to help you the best I can.

Wish you luck, hope he gets it on time!

    T

Also, I just looked at your timeline... Vermont is not a service center to get your papers returned to, they seem to be the slowest ones. Plz hurry!

  8. I know what you've been told on the phone, but you had to cover all your bases, meaning you had to get everything and anything you'd think they might want. And not believe them on the phone - they say one thing, then they say another thing. Personally, I would get all the papers right away. Try to call back and ask to keep your papers there, so you can give them what they want!!! Call them as soon as you can reach them! If the case goes back, you're screwed because it takes a lot of time just to send the papers back and nobody even cares when they get there - they have the lowest priority possible.

Just look at my case! Call them back and ask them to give you time to bring the right paper!!! That's my advice. Maybe others will disagree, but that's what I think.

    Good luck!

  9. Just wanted to let everybody know that everything's normal in Morocco, it's just Casa trying to give us going through Morocco trouble (like they didn't give me enough!).

I'm back... glad I didn't use time in cyber to write about this.

    Anyone wants some hot olives?

Wish I could have stayed over there... :crying:

  10. the whole thing with getting to casa and back and everything else was about $500, but they have it on the site somewhere. you have to pay for the interview too, you know. so, if you add all that up... but then i guess it depends on how far your fiance is from casa.

  11. Thanks Dorothy and TDS. I even called his brother and nothing. The weird phone # my husband gave me doesn't even ring, so either he made a mistake or something's wrong.

I'm leaving tomorrow at 12 noon for JFK and still don't know what's going on. This is promissing to be the 'best' trip ever! He used to call me be4 I'm leaving for Morocco. Now I got a phone call from probably a pay phone in Morocco on my cell, but I wasn't there. Called back and got a strange guy who hang up on me. Is this me over-reacting or am I right? Dorothy, can I have that phone number in Casa, just in case?

Sorry, TDS for getting off topic. I'll behave

  12. Yes, I did! I got everybody involved that I could. Now the consulate is closed for who knows how long. I got the new AOS papers done yesterday and I'm taking them with me on my trip to Morocco (in case he ever needs them).

I'm going out of my mind right now! I can't reach him, he got someone else's cell instead of his own and the phone number doesn't work! He can't get it back right away since he's in a different city and I'm leaving tomorrow! I'm afraid I won't know anything tomorrow before I have to go to the airport! I"m sure, i'm over-reacting, I hope I am!

But he didn't e-mail me or anything since I couldn't reach him. #######! I have to figure something out!

Sorry for rambling, but that's where we stand right now.

  13. I'm in denial (as usual) thinking that everything will be OK... eventually. My husband - we only talked last week before the ####### around the Consulate but after some of the stuff already was happening. He was calm, now I can't reach him on another cell, he got them mixed up, and I just can't get connected!

NO computer and I doubt, he'd check anything in cyber be4 i'm there.

I think, this would blow over, so to speak. This freaking process has made me soooooo patient!!!! i hate it!

So, from somebody who's going over to see her hubby for SECOND!!! wedding anniversary - CALM DOWN, girls (and boys)!

And yes, there's time for everything. I hope, I'll be still alive for the happy times too! I had a living hell with the x, now this process. If there's next time, i'm afraid, i'd have to take too many prescriptions that i had to reserve due to this process with me on the plane. (Get my frustration?)

Now, repeat after me: "EVERYTHING WILL BE ALL RIGHT!". You don't want to end up going through the airport like me with a separate baggie with your prescription meds, right?

ONe more thing, don't get offended for whatever reason, at least for the reason that I wont' be online soon!

But seriously, it's going to be OK!

  14. "I dont know if it helps, but when you are in the middle of the process, you can lose all sight of the end and feel like a million things can go wrong. It's really a terrible time. Hang in there and know it will pass!"

I know that wasn't addressed to me, but i'm not in the middle of the process! I feel like I've been in this process for about a year and a half too long! Anyway, I should be packing, what am I still doing here?

  15. "when were you denied? this info is an old postings back to 04.

the time...well back when we were denied, i spent every second doing reseach trying to find out what happened to us since the consulate lied to us. i found out a lot of info and used it in our case. it is my hope it can also help other couples.

    chi"

    Sorry, chi.

It's Tanya, firelion65, the same one from before and from dr2. (he was denied in Feb 2006)
