I guess if your case is still in CSC, upgrading your i-130 from F2A to immediate family of USC doesn't expedite the I-130 approval. You can check periodically on USCIS website to check the processing time. The only difference in processing time you will see is once your approved petition reaches to NVC.

Holdanna, Actually i sent the request to update the status while my case was still with USCIS cervice center and it took almost 2 months to get the status updated.
-
@WeGuyGal, not sure if you understand the difference between Immigrant vs Non immigrant visa. I am not here to explain you all, just you know if i want i can apply for immigrant visa to my mom. So stay off of pointing like.. chain migration stuffs.. OK. Don't have any siblings on the process of migrating nor dad has tourist visa.
-
Again the docs that i am sending is only if "consular" ask how she will be supported while in US. She won't be giving my docs to consular at first until asked by them.

I really appreciate all the valuable suggestions. I understand that i can't sponsor for tourist visa but just wanted to show them that i have enough income/resources to support her while she is in US. Again i could've submitted I-130 for immigration visa long time ago.
My dad isn't coming with her since one of them can't leave home because of younger daughter (my youngest sister). Also they have to take care of the property, agricultural stuffs etc. Would that suffice ties to home country? Actually my dad is planning to come here after mom returns home if she gets visa.
Two of my sisters live in home country, another lives in Aus and me and my brother here in US.
I know this iffing immigration system is broken. As a citizen, I can bring them in US in immigration visa. They are simply trying to come here in tourist visa so that they don't have obligation to come here every year just for the sake of saving the status on GC. A tourist visa is valid for 5 years and they can travel in their own conveniences as they wish.
Hope i am giving you guys all the circumstances i have and what do you think my mom's chances of getting visa?

Guys,
I am planning to apply for my Mom's B1B2 visa. I employed and have been employed over 10 years in US. In fact i am U.S citizen but don't wanna apply immigration visa to my Mom because she doesn't want to stay here long. She just wanted to visit on Visa. I am working in a renown company as an computer Engineer. One of the questions in DS-160 is that "who is paying for your visit?". So i said, i will be the one paying for her expenses. I have sent her my tax transcript, income and employment verification, bank statements etc.. so that if they ask she can show that i have enough income to cover her expenses while she is in US. Is there anything else do i need to send her for her visa interview? Also what kind of questions is asked at the interview for old people. Note my mom is already in her 60s.

Hi guys, my cases were review completed nov 13th and still waiting for interview scheduled date. Anyone from Nepal in similar situation?
-
how long does NVC take to schedule interview after document review is completed? standard e-mail says that usually NVC schedules the interview within three months after doc review is completed but just curious do they really take 3 months, i am from Nepal so just wondering what is the timeline for nepal if anyone is familiar with this.

Hi VJ pundits,
Does anyone know how long does it take to get an interview scheduled after document review is completed by NVC?

Guys,
my cases are at NVC and just few days back 11 processing timeframe has been reached. I didn’t hear any thing back from NVC upto 11 weeks timeframe. When I called NVC, they kept telling they can’t do anything until 11 weeks timeframe is reached. Again after calling 11 weeks, same answer .. so am I hitting dead end here? How do I find out status of my cases? Can I ask my senator to submit Inqury on my behalf to get the status update? Has anyone on this forum has similar experience, please let me know your thoughts.

When i called them they give told me file has already been picked up by review dept. It has been two weeks already since that department picked up my file. so hopefully they will complete review soon.
I guess the puzzle is if the file is picked up for review, does that mean they start reviewing right away or it again goes into a pile waiting for them for review?
-
Missileman,
In your case i see that you had "Supervisor Review", how do i know the status of supervisor review? When i call NVC, the customer support representative says that the doc has been picked up by the review department but they don't tell me whether the actual review has been started or not? So i guess it will give some relief if i can find out whether supervisor review has been started or not?

Just wondering if anyone has idea how long NVC is taking to review the docs after review department picks up the file? My docs were scanned at the beginning of July and were picked up by doc review department (based on my conversation with NVC customer support personnel) at the end of July. Based on NVC website, it can take up to 11 weeks to review the docs from the date they scan the doc.
Since the docs are already in review department, does anyone has any idea how long it takes for them to review docs after it is picked up by review department?

My cases are approved by USCIS back in June and currrently with NVC pending document review.

Awai5, can you please post your time line after approval of I-130? just wondering how long NVC is taking to schedule interview from scan date?

Guys,
Can somebody let me know what are the supporting docs required to file I-130 for US citizens's sister/brother?
I have following docs as of now.
1) US naturalization certificate of petitioner
2) birth certificate of petitioner
3) birth certificate of applicant
Also if the applicant doesn't have passport yet so how should petitioner fill out passport information in I-130 where it says passportNo, passportIssuing country etc? Your help is much appreciated.

Hi Abe.wichner,
I just received KDU and Invoice number over the phone from NVC, i haven't received formal e-mail from them yet, how long does it take for them to officially send an e-mail after KDU and Invoice number is created? Also can i start paying fees without receiving the official letter from NVC since KDU and invoice number is already avaiable?
-
Thank you Abe.wichner. Really appreciate your prompt response.
-
Thank you Abe.wichner. What are the information needed to call NVC and do you happen to have their phone number? I will have to start dialing in from tomorrow onwards.

Team,
After approval of I-130, how long does it take for processing center to send the petition to NVC and how long does it take NVC to assign case number? I got an approval letter from USCIS for I-130 but there is no online update of any kind. It has been over a week since the case was approved and stated that the cases have been transferred to NVC, should i call them and ask if case number has been assigned?
-
I am a petitioner, i petitioned as Green card holder and later become USC. I upgraded the petitions to immediate relative of USC about a month and half ago. Now they updated to day saying that the case is transferred to local office. I will be talking to USCIS second level officer tomorrow to find out more about this.
-
No I sent my petition Sept 12th 2016. Just today i got the update saying that my case is transferred to local office? My wife is not even in US. So wondering if the case was transferred what would they be interviewing me?
-
Hi VJ members,
I just got the following update for my case. What does this mean?
