Since your earlier post indicates that you have been married and a lawful permanent for well over three years, you are eligible to apply for Naturalization under 319(e) where the interview and ceremony will take place in Europe (possibly Stuttgart, Germany) by officers from the Washington Field Office,

You need to file the N-400 to the following address or you can file online by visiting www.uscis.gov/N-400

For FedEx, UPS, or DHL deliveries:

              USCIS
              Attn: Military N-400
              131 S. Dearborn, 3rd Floor
              Chicago, IL 60603-5517

    Thank you,

That is exactly what I did. Also made cover letter and first page with huge letters saying under what section I was applying. Sadly it was not clear enough for the receiving immigration officer and they wrongly sent my application back saying I applied too early and Am not eligible. I assume they did not  notice i have  GC based on marriage...I am really upset because it sets us back multiple months. Now I assume they will tell me ,,oups" and send it again. I hope I don't have to go to base to do fingerprints again because they are not sealed anymore and base office is closed until January. really upsetting. I know I can apply online but the system did not really let me file everything because I stated our address overseas and it kicked me out of the application. We may PCS next year and I hoped to have the process done to have the same citizenship as my husband and son...

Actually you can file online! I just read that some days ago on the USCIS website.  but i imagine you already have everything ready to send now 😜

Will you be sending evidence of bonafide marriage? I will be applying soon and I’m just not sure if I should send things like leases, bank accounts, etc.

Thank you for mentioning that! we tried last year and online filling was not possible and I did not think it will change anytime soon. I called the USCIS and indeed I can file online due to Covid. Sadly there is also travel ban for military so we can not have the interview in Germany until it is lifted, hopefully it wont take long.

As for you question I did submit evidence such as taxes, bank accounts, credit cards and child's birth certificate as proof of our marriage.

  3. Hello,

We are stationed in The Netherlands at the moment and I am about to send the N-400 package. USCIS website says all EU overseas applications are being processed in Washington Field Office but their where to file page says military members have to mail it to Chicago. helpline is never helpful because they always tell me totally different field office. Anyone shipped their package from EU recently with success? to what address?

    Thank you!

  4. Hi everybody!

I have a question and I hope somebody will help me with my dilemma :)

My husband is Active Duty and his Home of Record is Oregon. He is now stationed in DC where we live and where we applied for my GC. I just received my EAD and I would like to get american DL, I know that spouse of military member does not have to change DL when moved with husband to another state but what about people like me? Never had american DL and want to be the same state as my husband?!! We are not going to live here more than 2 years and I would like to have same home state as him so we do not have to care about changing anything in the future. Is there something I can do to get Oregon license even tho I do not live there now? But planning in the future?

    Thank you all in advance.

    Have a nice day :)

  5. Yeah, a lot of people now are getting that kind of update. I hope someone here has an explanation of what that entails. Maybe someone who had that same update and learned from USCIS that their application moved to the field office or something. While that update doesn't say much, it's probably a sign that our applications are moving forward. It'd be nice to know what's going on behind the scenes and what kind of progress that is specifically. :)

I have an appointment at my local office next Friday, maybe they will tell me what is going on and why their online system sucks :D Will let you all know if they will tell me something useful.

After getting EAD, I am not in rush to get GC, but I still like to be informed what is going on...

  6. Hi guys!

USCIS knows how to make my day :D

My phone buzzed yesterday and showed me that the I-485 status changed!!! I was sooooo excited but when I opened the app my case was still saying that my case is ready to be scheduled for the interview, only the date changed from May 12 to July 29... Thank you USCIS for letting me know again :D I do not know if I want to cry or laugh :D

Btw. my EAD status changed back from delivered to mailed, hope I won't get another one :D

Hope you have a nice weekend!!

  7. Hi there,

Our dates are close to yours, and interestingly enough we are both in the DC area. We are adjusting from an F1 student visa if that matters. USCIS received our package on April 13, and our NOA date was April 19. We submitted a 75 day service request on June 28 and were told on July 13 that our case was under review. Our I-485 has been ready to schedule for an interview since June 13, and we did not receive a RFE or RFIE. Our EAD and AP case numbers are returning validation errors and a separate service request in May for that issue was ignored. We called earlier this week after seeing EAD/AP case numbers before and after us were approved and the Tier 2 told us to just wait. Our lawyer's office called again today and was instructed to call back again at the end of the month if we didn't receive the card by then. Very frustrating.

Yeah super frustrating...I hope we will hear something soon, it drives me crazy :D

  8. Guys,

still have not heard anything at all from USCIS. i'm over 100 days now, 2.5 weeks into a service request and my case numbers are still not working !! This is getting embarrassing for USCIS and me. i got some good jobs lined up but cannot do anything without an EAD :(

Next steps are going to be the ombudsman and the congress representative but I have several reservations on that, given the history of getting things done by both USCIS and the us congress. On top of that, my wife and I being DC residents, our representative is slightly better than a potted flower in terms of clout.

I hope things get moving at some point because this is super frustrating especially since it seems my money has been taken without anything given back.

I am also DC and it has been 110 days today...no news about my EAD. Thinking about contacting the congressman as well..

    Good luck!!

  9. ugh sometimes I swear they make my mind go into crazy conspiracy theories of why the hell they are so terrible at their job. I read that USCIS is funded like 95% by the money we pay with our applications. You'd think that at least for that they would have some decency and do things in a timely manner. 90 days is really not a short time.

Yeah exactly...for the money we pay we could at least get some usable information....Not gonna lie, I am really really frustrated..Living in expensive DC and not having a job is not fun at all :(

  10. Hi guys!! I hope you all enjoyed the 4th!

I was so happy to find USCIS letter in my mail box yesterday!!!! I was so excited to see if it is the interview letter or EAD card info buuuuut ofc they pissed me of again :D They sent me one sentence saying they received my service request and they will work on it. Such a wasting of paper and time!!! Day 96 and nothing happened so far....

    Good luck to everyone!

  11. That is a complete and utter lie on there part!!! They can't check background check but teir 2 can... Even when you call the FBI the answer service states if you need an update on your background check to call Uscis for status updates on your finger print and name check

I know they lie...I have no energy to deal with them and beg them to transfer me or give me some information...Thank you for your help tho.

  12. Glad it worked for someone else... Even if you already know the status of your background check I would still use that excuse anyway cause they can't see the information so they have no choice but to transfer you to a tier 2 and they don't relay the reason why your want to talk to a tier 2 officer when you're transfered

I called uscis minutes ago and when I asked the guy to give me info about the background check, he said he has no idea what I am talking about and when I asked him if I could be transferred to somebody with more information he said nobody will tell me anything about background check because they can not get the information. Told me to wait 30 days from the service request and ,,sent me to hell"... Officially done talking to them...
