Hello @iCodeClean, I did receive my interview appointment almost three weeks after being DQed. I was getting worried because days were passing by and had no news, but finally I got it. The interview will be in December, even though I would have expected November since they don't receive many such requests. Basically, it's going to take about two months from the date I was DQed. Good luck!

Hello, I have been DQed at the NVC three weeks ago and now waiting for an interview date at the embassy in Switzerland. In this regard, I have a question concerning the police certificates from countries where I lived before. I requested them earlier this year, between March and May. By now they are all older than 6 months. Should I request new certificates if my interview date is next month (November 2022) or are they still valid? Many thanks in advance!

Hello, Does anybody know how long a visa is valid for once it has been issued? I need this information as I need to give notice to my current employer which requires 3 months. Is the valid more or less valid than 3 months? Thank you in advance!

NVC case review progress slowing down?
ozzac replied to Wouter's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
Hello, I have been RFEd on 9 August and it seems that I need to go back to the end of the queue. Does anybody know why is taking NVC so long to review cases (a little over two months)? Thank you in advance! -
May 2022 NVC Submission

Hi everyone, A few days ago I have got a reply from the NVC (submission date May 31st) with a DS260 review note saying "The petition you have filed does not allow derivative status for family members. This means that any spouse, unmarried child under age 21, or parent will require his or her own petition to immigrate". I am not sure why I got this message, but probably because I selected that my wife and daughter (both US citizens) were migrating with me. I selected this option because we are all living abroad and we all moving together to the US. Do you know if this is a show stopper or if it is just a note to say that if I want other people to migrate with me, they would need a petition of their own? Many thanks! -
May 2022 NVC Submission

Thank you for your reply @chaoticenergy! I thought the 2020 W-2 for the joint sponsor made sense because we uploaded the 2021 one and wasn’t enough, maybe because we started our visa in 2020. Did you have to re-upload the AOS or did you write your statements when you first submitted it? any tips about the DS-260? Just writing to them (it seems that it takes about 2 months to reply though!) -
May 2022 NVC Submission

Hi everyone, After waiting 75 days, I have got a series of RFE's some of which I am not sure what to do. Any advice would be appreciated. We started our petition in 2020 but due to COVID we slowed it down until this spring. We live abroad and my wife is a housewife with no income. Despite that they ask for a W-2 or 1099 for year 2020? They are asking the same thing for the joint sponsor (for him we only attached W-2 for 2021), which makes sense, but I don't understand why they ask for one for my wife. Anyone with same experience? Also, there was a message about the DS-260 form and says "The petition you have filed does not allow derivative status for family members. This means that any spouse, unmarried child under age 21, or parent will require his or her own petition to immigrate." I think they mention this because I selected "Yes" on the question is wife/child going to immigrate with you to the US? We thought we should answer yes, because we all live abroad and we're all going to move together to the US...however, now I cannot correct that in the DS-260. What could I do? The strangest thing, however, was about the police record for Japan (where I lived in the past) which I have attached. The message says: "The police certificate required for JAPAN is not needed in order for the interview to be scheduled. However, the police certificate must be obtained and uploaded before the visa interview. Please use our Document Finder at https://nvc.state.gov/find for acceptable documents guidelines." Even though I have attached it and they accepted it, they still mentioned this sentence, a bit odd, don't you think? Grateful to whom could reply about the W-2 for a housewife and what to do with the DS-260. -

What is a Class A condition? I am interviewing out of Switzerland. 5 years ago I applied for a K-1 but did not use it as we decided not to move to the US anymore for work reason. I tried to create a new timeline with this profile with VJ does not allow that...

I am the beneficiary. So does the visa has a duration of 6 months? Somehow I thought it was 3, which made it tight.

Thank you! Does it mean that on the 75th day they tell you whether your documentation is complete or do they need more time to get back to you?

Does the NVC notify applicants before placing the case in the queue for a consulate? My main problem is that I need to give a 3-month notice at work and I am not sure at what stage to do it.
