Nice topic. I think once people get approved and issued visa they wont come here to comment. It would be nice to know though for the rest of us waiting for AP to get approved. My husband was issued AP two months ago pending approval. No updates yet.
updating timeline is more beneficial.. some ma not even be aware of this thread.
wish you luck!!

They called me that day and asked me a few more questions, like a phone interview. Then I asked the guy, when will you issue visa? He said next 5 days you will receive it. Been back to Dallas, and also got my LPR card. The nightmare is over, thanks for asking
I am just shocked that it takes this much time. did they keep the passport all that time? my husband did his interview on Monday and they took his passport and gave him a green slip. I am American but he is not.

Hi
Status changed to READY today, any idea what is going on now?
Thanks
were you able to get the visa?
-
sorry that happened to you. I hope this wont discourage you from pursuing your dream.
I am a U.S. citizen and my husband was giving the green paper last Monday with request to upload his travel ticket. they kept his passport so I am hoping he will get it soon. I am just worried that it will take that much long.

Good to hear that. Thanks!

Let us know how he gets on.
Just got the call from my husband and he is approved. They gave him a link to upload his round trip ticket to make sure he is coming back. A big factor was the fact that I work here too so we had to show letter of employment from my work and my valid residency here overseas. We are going to visit my mother who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and we got a letter from the hospital as a proof. The key is to show ties to where you live and that you are coming back.
Now, POE is what I worry about since I heard stories of people getting rejected to enter the state.

we have our interview for B2 visa this Monday and I am a bit worried now about my husband entering the U.S. we did not apply for the green card as we don't intend to move to the U.S. at the moment.

CurlyCutie and Josie333 - I am not seeing your information.
If I misspelled any of your usernames - I couldn't read my own handwriting anymore. But the list will give us a sense of how things will be dealt with and in which time. Please let us all know if you receive an RFE or NOA2. Oh, and for those of you who have updated their timeline: Thank you very much! And for those of you who have not, please do so and provide the support and help to others through our own experience.
In the meantime, lets pick up on the advise we received from "Patient" and work on the documents we need for the next step.
It is a waiting game from now on! Stay happy!
I didn't get my NOA1 yet. I am thinking I will be an August applicant.

Hello All,
We sent our documents to our lawyer in Chicago and they received the package yesterday. Hopefully they will send it in this week and our process will begin. My wife has a dual citizenship and she has been living in Turkey since 2011. We got married little over a year ago.
I am just curious how long this whole process will take. I have a friend who sent documents to Chicago Lock box in March '17 and got approved message in June '17 but they are still waiting for an interview in Ankara / Turkey.
I am hopping whole thing will take around 6-7 months but we will see.
Good luck to all whom are waiting...
Welcome to the group MadTurk.
the process takes from 9-13 months. average of one year!! stay strong !

I still didn't get my NOA1 so I am assuming I will be an August filer.
-
So I am bout to finally send our package this week. wondering if a money order from my bank overseas would be acceptable. Any thoughts?

Hi everyone..
we are just finishing up our application and sending it at the end of this week. I hope the process will be easy for all of us.

You usually have to prove some kind of residency to do DCF. Also, UAE doesn't have a USCIS field office, so no DCF option there. Only these countries currently allow DCF:
https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/international-immigration-offices
and to my understanding I-458 can only be done if he is in the U.S
does that leave us to doing I-130 ?

No. At this point you have to file for spouse visa for him if you want to return to the USA. The process for cr1 takes about a year.
have you heard of consular processing? it could be done but not a lot of info out there.

please help if you have any advice or info
Huuby was granted K1 visa last October and we got married in the U.S. within 90 days. I lost my job and he was able to go back to his job overseas so we both left without doing AOS.
Can we do that abroad? or do we have to apply for I-130 again.
we currently live in UAE

Yes.
Hi GeeRaf
thanks for the reply. I am starting our process and a bit confused. since we don't have a USCIS field office here in UAE, we send our application to Chicago right?
I heard that DCF is a bit fast (6 months max) is that correct from your experience?
is there a specific page here dedicated to DCF in UAE that I should follow?
will appreciate any info you may share.

I see your point. this is why my husband don't wan to relocate to the state at the moment. there is a difference in salaries between the two countries and the tax also makes it worse in the U.S.
