  1. Its been 7 weeks since my biometrics and still do not see an "in-line" yet. Should I get an infopass and visit the USCIS office ? is it worth doing that ?

Unfortunately I have been reading that males from muslim countries and muslim names get stuck on name check for a long time, under the "Controlled Application Review and Resolution Program” (CARRP), we should ALL stand against this practice that is UNAMERICAN and against the values that this country was build. I wish you the best and hope for you process to end quick and also that you are not stuck because of this unfair practice. There are several lawsuits against this practice

If somebody wants to read a little more about this, follow the next links from the American Civil Liberties Union of Los Angeles

  2. Im for sure throwing a party lol. These are my two cents. One time I did Miami international. My wife is from here, and we were flying with my in laws too. I forgot to sign my affidavit returning. The guy (puerto Rican by his accent) said to me "are you f*^%# kidding me? I asked why. He says. You gotta sign this. And asked me to go to the end of the line. We are talking around 300 maybe. I begged people to let me go back to my spot. I've always been nervous going thru customs. I feel like they'll find a way to tell me no, you can't come in. Lol anyhow, it took my wife and her parents 15 minutes. It took me three and a half hours. Almost missed my flight here. I try to avoid Miami as much as I can. My citizenship gift will be a European trip. Can't wait to see what it feels like to actually feel free when you fly. Going to Canada, and not been able to board, and having people looking at you, was very humiliating. I'll put it on my calendar!!! Thanks for the invite lol.

You better hurry up, because now EU is thinking about require "additional documents" to American citizens traveling to Europe in response to Washington's restricter regulations imposed to some European citizens

  3. Is horrible!!!! specially when I have to go Spain to visit my parents!! my dad has to pay almost 90 euros to get an official invitation for me, then mail it to me and I need to take that damn letter everywhere I go while in Europe. My husband and baby are process super fast plus no questions asked.

The last time we flew back from europe,my husband and baby passed through costumes in a blink while I had to stand with everyone else for almost 45 minutes. They had to wait for me in the car....I was so pissed

I don't understand you are a LPR, every time that I flight back from overseas I do the same line as Usa Citizens, unless that was changed recently, also last time that I travel with my ex-wife we pass through customs together

  4. Chicago is even faster....Boston still processing Venezuelan passport from august :/ that's why I had no doubt to invest the $680 in this instead of $1200 for an useless and probably unused venezuelan passport.

I agree with you, next step after citizenship is bring my mom here, that's the only close family that I have, and the only reason to travel to Venezuela, other than arepas, empanadas and tequeños lol. Let see how fast Orlando moves

  5. AHAHAHA you have an idea how I feel!!!! getting my US passport is the #1 in my list for sure. My venezuelan passport expired in october and I dont see myself investing $1200 in a trip to new orleans or chicago just to get it. Besides all my family lives in Spain since 7 years ago so honestly I wont coming back anytime soon.

Being without a valid passport makes me very anxious but fortunatelly the wait will end soon.

Everytime I go to the USCIS I see all this people smiling, happy, and waving their flags I just day dream with the day is my turn!!

But is bittersweet because that means no more visajourney for me, I ve been part of this community for so long, and they helped me throughout everything since the very early steps of my k1 visa. So yes its been 5 years with visajourney.

Although I more than ready to be done with my USCIS journey is like, wait a minute!! is that it? hahahahahahahaha

Not to mention that I'm in line for an appointment on New Orleans Venezuelan Embassy since January 19, nothing yet still waiting for a date, my passport expires this june

  6. Now that I have a little more time, I;m going to share my story

This will be my second citizenship interview, on 2010 with the 3 years rule, I approve the english and civic test, I was even invited to wait for my oath letter in the waiting room, after 20 minutes waiting my IO came out telling me that there is a little problem with my case and I will be receiving the oath letter by mail soon. Three months later I receive a denial because I apply early, stating that the resident since date that appear on my GC is not correct, so I was 15 days earlier so for that reason I was denied... I'm wondering if I have to do the tests again. Now I'm divorced, I hope they don't grill me with questions because of that.

This forums definitely help us with the anxiety, is good to know that other people are anxious just like me. Thanks and I hope everithing moves fast for all
