  1. Not sure if this helps but My lawyer also included the I134 in the packet and he said we didnt need to take one because he already included it. I (being paranoid) sent my fiance an updated one with a date closer to the interview and a wet signature and he is taking it just in case even though they have the other one. It has the same info just with a recent date and my signature.

  2. Hi there!

Sorry for the delayed response... but I'm glad to say I'm back and officially MARRIED now!! :)

Soo... to answer the first question, our trip was a span from Friday-Tuesday. Keep in mind we had to span it over an extra day or two because my now wife (ooh weird saying that hahaha) has 2 small boys (6 & 9) and medicals for minors require the TB scratch test which takes longer. We arrived in Juarez on a Thurs, medicals and biometrics on Friday, Mon morning back to medical office to check the boys' scratch test and Tues morning was our interview.

We stayed at the Hotel Conquistador, it's on the same side of the consulate at the end of the block and has a pool... it was nice and was exactly what we were looking for since we had extra days and wanted to lounge by the pool :)

Once you pay the Visa fee and you are allowed to select dates... the first date you select is the interview date and the second (bottom) date is the biometrics date. The biometrics date can change depending on the date you select for interview... they're somewhat dependent on each other or vice versa. I'd suggest choosing the biometrics date first and then see what you get for interview dates.

If you still don't have the appointment letter you can always arrive one day early in Juarez and go to the consulate information window and ask for a copy of it. The info window is open from 7am-1pm M-F, excluding days they close (check their calendar online because they observe both US and Mexican holidays).

Hope this helps and as always any other questions don't hesitate to ask :)

Hi Maria,Congrats to you and your wife !!! I wish your family the best :luv: .. And thank you so much for the info I was able to find the calendar to change the dates.. My fiance will be traveling on Sat the 20(tickets were cheaper than on a Sunday) Gets his Copy of the Letter on Monday and his ASC is on Tues. and on Wed he has his medical (a day space for the results) we were hoping he had his medical on that Monday he gets the copy of the letter but someone told me that sometimes you can wait hours so we didn't want to risk setting it the same day (in case he missed it )so we made it for Wednesday..We wanted to schedule his Interview on Friday but unfortunately either the consular is closed or all booked because it wasn't available so he must wait until Monday the 29th.. Very expensive trip lol But i am more than excited!!!! (L)

My fiance was wondering if the fee that we payed ($265 we paid before making the apts) is the only fee they charge you for the ASC apt or if he will need to pay more? We know that he has to pay 450 for the medical if he doesn't have the vaccines (that what the receptionist told me over the phone)

Also, Is the Juarez letter the same one I got from the NVC center ? Mine just arrived yesterday and i scanned it over to him.

BTW so sorry for the long messages and I know I ask a ton of questions i'm just very nervous excited anxious and want to be well prepared. I'm counting down the days 11 more to go ! :clock:

  3. You are very welcome :)

That's great news! The CDJ consulate should have your packet within 3 to 5 days at most. Also, there is a method to their madness (LOL)... you can track the DHL package from NVC to CDJ with some known details - this lets you actually confirm the day CDJ received your packet. I'll look for the post with the instructions and re-post back here when I find it.

    Maria :)

Quick question i went online to pay the fee since it says ready but it says that the first available date is for AUgust 11th is that for the ASC or the actual interview?? It does not give me any option to change the dates either .. what did you do? I would love it if if was that fast but we still do not have the packet 3....

  4. Hey mimi6157!

Thank you for letting me know, I have not had news about the letter or about my case number but now my fiance will call to the NVC, I hope to get is soon. It's fantastic you got it sooner than us, congratulation! These experiences help us a lot, thank you for your tips and information about all this process. We keep in touch, thanks y'all.

A question, Where did you get the police certificate? I don't have a criminal record but I read the consulate is asking for it.

    Do you know about it?

    THANKS!!!!

sorry for the late reply! So he said it was in plaza belenes and here is a link that tells you what you need i went ahead and saw that there are other places to get it from. This one is i beleive for the state of Jalisco but im sure if you go to the states website you can also find it. Search it under constancia de antecedentes.

  6. Hi maria once again your advise helped alot webhave filled out and summkted the ds160:) we ran into some issues with the asc acciunt because my fiance made the acciunt using the blue background and when we tried to. Switch it to green it did not let us so we just created a new one with a different email. But the background tio was a huge help! ?? also how did your fiance soread out / plan her trip to juarez was it days apart? Any tios on hotels ?

  7. Does anyone know if its necesary to waitfor the nvc to tell ship my peyition to the embassy to schedule an appt? I already have an NVC case number and im just waiting for the embassy to receive it. My fiancee and i wanted to save some time so we already filled out the da169 and we are just waiting. I looked on the embassy info but it doesnt say anything regarding this at least that i can see and i inow some of you have already made your interview apptments any way i can too?

  8. Video chat works just the same as well, as long as they're in the loop doing the application because it does ask a lot of detailed questions. Make sure you write down the ID number of the application because it does time out A LOT and you'll need it to go back in (hit SAVE after everything you put in).

The actual VISA payment is not made during that application session but rather through the ASC account you will create once you have your CDJ case number. Make sure you're on the Immigrant page (the green background) and not the NonImmigrant (blue background) website. It will ask for your CDJ case number and the DS-160 confirmation number - that's how it links your DS-160 Visa App with your CDJ Case Number. Once the account is created and you're in, you can pay the Visa fee online with a Credit Card - that's the easiest and that's exactly how I did it. Once you pay it lets you schedule the appointments for biometrics and interview.

They should have your case number assigned by NVC within 2 days... unless they're running behind :)

Wow thank you so much!! i can not thank you all enough and just to give an update I have called nvc center today and received a case number !!! :D

  9. Did you get your case number? :)

yes i did :D I hope you get yours too !

Does any one know whats next i have my case number know was that the only thing i was supposed to ask for ?? My fiance and I started his DS-160 app and we are almost ready to summit. We were just waiting on the NVC case number.. Also , does anyone have the link to track the case file? i know it has been postedbut the thread is super long now so not sure where to look for it.

  10. What is the best time to call NVC? I'm just thinking what time do they usually receive cases from USCIS... :) Thanks!

now ! i didnt have to wait and listen to the horrible music it went right through

I wouldn't worry about annoying them... you have a right to know what it going on with your case and when you call customer service it is their job to provide you with information! The way I see it, we paid a lot of money to the US government to go through this process, so the least they can do it provide us with status updates when we ask :)

omg thanks! i called right after replying to the post no wait no nothing and i got my nvc number!! If any one calls right know it seems like they are not as busy i was connected in less then 5 min..

jajaj well said ok that makes me fel so much better and you are right. Thank you so muchh!!!

  12. I waited for my case number but yes, you could technically complete it before you have the case number since you don't need the case number when just filling it out.

The beneficiary is the one to fill it out and sign, however, you can assist and also put your name down as the person who assisted the beneficiary in filling it out. That's exactly what I did.

I'm a little more tech savvy so what I did is I had my fiancée connect to my computer through like a remote connection (google: Teamviewer for more info on how this works) and she was basically watching my computer screen the whole time we went through the DS-160. Then once it came time to sign, she controlled the comp and actually "signed" and submitted.

Also, the app does have "tool tips" that will translate the questions on the form.

Thank you so much Maria! I am familiar with the teamviewer the bad thing is that my fiancee does not own a computer but we are going to video chat so I can help him out. Once you fill out the DS form and printed the confirmation page, Do you just go to the bank and make a payment or how does that work?

    Thanks KayDeeCee!

Of course mimi6157, I'm waiting for my case number too, if you get your case number before me I will thank you let me know all about your consulate experience. It's supposed you have to schedule your appointment at the consulate, everything is online, the DS-160, etc.

    Here is the completed information.

Good luck and we keep in touch!

    Hey Ja&Ra,

I have called the NVC this morning and they just informed me that they have received my petition today but to call back in a week to get the case number(ill probably call back tomorrow .. lol) . Another fellow VJ member did called back the same day it was received and had the case number ! Hope you hear something soon:)

  13. You can and should have all the vaccines up to date when you attend your medical exam in Juarez. They are supposed to verify you have your vaccines even though they don't always do it.

Once you do get your K-1 Visa and cross into the U.S., you have a civil surgeon just transcribe the vaccine record onto the DS-3025 to send in with your adjustment of status (AOS) application. (It's much cheaper than getting any missing vaccines in the U.S.) This way you only pay for the transcribing.

THANK YOU MARIA!!will keep in mi d and congrats on the visa! How was your interview and where do you recommend we stay ?

I do not know about having the medical in other places besides Juarez and Mexico City, but you can have the ASC appointment scheduled locally before going to Juarez.

As to the vaccination stuff, you can go ahead and get them and have a record of them, but they probably will not care at the K-1 medical. They tend to refuse to descal with vaccinations for a K-1 and give a blank DS-3025 or none at all. If you need to see a civil surgeon in the US for an I-693 when filing for AOS, which you most likely will, then the record of your vaccinations in Mexico can be taken to that medical to have transcribed onto the I-693.

The Asc is the biometrics with the finger prints right? Just making sure i think the nerves and excitement are getting to me lol

Thank you MariaR323! I really appreciate your suggestion.

    mimi6157

You can schedule your appointment in any ASC (Applicant Support Center), they are located in any city where there is a consulate of United States, for example in Mérida, Yucatán there is a consulate and a ASC as well. I think there is a consulate in Guadalajara, Jalisco too.

Check this link, it will be easier.

    https://ais.usvisa-info.com/es-mx/niv/information/asc

The medical examination is only in Ciudad Juárez with the medical offices authorized as *CLINICA MEDICA INTERNACIONAL *SERVICIOS MEDICOS and *MEDICOS DE VISA.

Only the applicants who lives in the Estado de México and Ciudad de México (CDMX or DF) should go to the authorized clinic *MEDICOS ESPECIALIZADOS INTERNACIONALES (This is located in La colonia Juárez, Delegación Cuauhtémoc).

You can get the vaccines in any hospital in México, the nurse has to write up the differents vaccines you got in a record book (Cartilla de vacunación).

Some vaccines are free in México so it's better get them here than in the medical appointment because they are expensive. Take with you the record book (Cartilla de Vacunación) the day of your appointment for the medical examination because it will be a proof of your vaccines.

Thanks to all i really appreciate the time and advise you all gave me , and the links were very helpful too ! I was wondering if any of you filled out the ds160 form even before receiving the nvc number? I have been reading the forum and some say you can do it as it inly asks for the WAC NUMBER but i just want to be sure. Also i have read somewhere that my fiance is supposed to be the one to fill out that ds160 but he doesnot speak any english.. how did you all do it?
