  1. I am curious to know how much will the visa process cost or does the fiance have to pay to the consulate. I am going to help my fiance and I would like to know a ball park. I am not sure if some of the forms that are electronic require you to pay them or not. Can anyway please tell me?

  2. Does anyone knows what goes on at the NVC? What do they do and how long does it take? I called do they documnet the calls you make. I made a mistake and gave them the wrong Birthday of my Fiance? I hope this does not cause problems. My petition is with them and they say it takes about 3 weeks to get ot the Consulate. I hope it goes faster and I hope I do not have problems. What are some of the problems that can occur? Please give me you stories and inputs.

  3. :D(F) I received an email saying that my I-129 was approved, I know I have a long way to go but this is was a nice step. I just pray that I do not have the problems that I have heard others have. If you would like to share a horry story I would love to listen.
  4. I sent my package express on the 7th they got it the next day and when I received my notice of action I registered on teh website and I saw that they updated my file on the 12th, and then they looked at it again today. DOes this mean bad news? I just want an approval. I sent as much as I had but me and my fiance have not been together for a long time. I wonder if I did something wrong. I did do something questionable I sent the G form with an attachment and I think that he should ahve signed it because he had to many jobs listed. Do you think they wanted them to sign the attachments?

  5. Marrying a cousin is very common in many Muslim/Arab countries. They generally make you take a blood test before hand and check for certain things to make sure that your babies won't have genetic problems due to the close relation in blood.

I have many cousins who have done this and none have encourtered a problem. Most embassies know this is a very common thing and don't question it.

Most people do not have problems with the marrying and it is allowed in Islam, however he come to me another question. Maybe this is a Moroccan thing because I do not understand it. If you are a dual citizen such as hisself. He has a Moroccan passport and a United States Passport (he is a citizen) and he wants to get married in Morocco. He says that they will write down your name and your number, this number is off of your id or passport. He is moroccan and it is wasy to marry another moroccan but when you are a US citizen it is more complex. Can he get married using the Moroccan id and the United States accept it or will this cause a problem. I told him that it did not matter because he is a citizen of both countries and when we get married in the states the certificate only has your name and birthday on it. Also if I have never heard of it, it is something that no looks for. Can you tell me what you think about this.

  6. It is normal to marry cousin in Morocco and my firend he is thinking of marrying a cousin of his but the question on the paper he said that he would avoid. I told him he should answer it because it would come out and he said that he would say that she is from his family!!! So what do you think, has anyone married a cousin or heard of anyone and where there an complications? he is afrid and that his potetion will have problems or be regetted.

  7. No I am stationed in the USA, yes we meet and I was just wondering becuase I know a lot of people that are married to foreign women, so I figured maybe they received things a little faster. As of right now I know that the income requirements are less but other than that that is it. I am wondering to the fact that I can not leave the united states, would help that is all. Thanks for the input.

  8. I was wondering if me being in the military in will help my case or hurt it? I can not possibly leave the country until 2010. I hope that this fact will help because I know a lot of service members that are married to foreign women however I have never heard of any women married to foreign men. I do not want to start inquiring becuase I do not want the whole world involved so please let me know if anybody knows anything. My fiance is in Morocco.

  9. I talked to my husband about it and he has a good job, however I am in the miltary and I am in my contract until 2010, so I can not leave. He told me what he could afford for us so after what I saw I was like I could that, a house and a maid is what we agreed to if everything did not work out. As far as him moving, he has to during this time I will finish up a lot of my school and I am thinking of retiring in the miltary we want to get a house in Morocco and then we will set ourselves up to moce there. We would need to get out of debt like pay off loans and credit cards. I have destroyed my credit cards and I am working on this and paying off my car. Which I think will be done by then. I want to live in Rabat because it is very city like and they have the english school. MY son and I are taking classes. ANd my fiance said that if we do not get approve he wanted me to come twice a year until I got things settle. I would save a lot of moeny and pay off my bills if this happened. But I am about to start working on my Master's Degree and my friends say that this in MOrocco would get me a very good position. I am also trying to figure out if the UNited Nations is there and maybe take advantage of the military and try to get a UN assignment. Somewhere around there and I am taking Arabic and French Classes. So this is the back up to the back up plan. However, we want to get a house or two in Morocco and maybe have some family live in it until we return, we get familiair and when I retire my military pay will be plenty in Morocco and my husband hopefully will be able to return to work and receive a high paying position because we have agreed that when he gets here he will stay in school until he gets a Masters Degree. So I think we seriously considered this and I love the maid part. I was so spoiled there I know that I would have to do more in I moved there, like he would teach me how to shop and then I will have to do this, but when I was there I would visit him for lunch and sleep late, and then hangout with the women and help with the cooking. I want to live close to the family it was so neat I love the unity. Anyway, I do not like Morocco much and if it was not for my husband I would not want to be there full time. But I love him and I love the way he makes me feel and his ability to deal with me, we are a good match and I want to be with him and if you are going through the visa process you have to think if the "what if they say no's" it gives some comfort. To know that he can support me in Morocco, etc. I heard of some Moroccan men marrying some Americans and the woman moves there however it was not a good story.

  10. Do you really need to send supporting documents and how much do you need to send? I have a few pictures but not much from my trip, I have an engagement ring, and I have my passport. When you look at the application they do not ask for much. I have a calling card and it doesn't tell you how many times I called so should I send an explaination with the calling card recipets? I have a few phone bills with numbers on it but according to the K1 visa you just send in the information and the fiance gives all the proof. Am I mistaking I am getting my packet to gether and I would appricate any input. Thanks, VJ.

  12. I would think that the culture in Morocco is one that is put in to consideration. I am not sure, But maybe you should try another visa. One thing that I say one this trend and I plan on doing is visiting more than once. AI am muslim and a wedding is a big deal, so to not have one would bring about a question I think. I am not sure and I am learning from you experince, I am engaged to a Moroccoan and I am scared to death that there will be problems. But can you tell how many times you been to Morocco, and the conditions you meet. i meet my fiance through my friend who is his cousin. We have been chating and emailing. We want to get maaried and I am going to meet him. But I am sure I will have a hard time. I am thining of just going over there and marrying him legally, so that we can do the K-3 but I dont know. And do you have to do the K-3 at the Embassy?
