I have read and read and silly me wants to be sure! I am USC (born) and my husband is GC holder. We are still waiting for ROA for lifting of conditions received by USCIS on 11/23/18.
GC 3 year anniversary is 1/17/2020
Wedding anniversary is 6/15/2019
A few questions:
- Under the 90 day rule, when can my husband apply for citizenship?
- If he hasn't received his 10 year GC at the time of applying, can he go ahead and apply?
- His daughter from his late wife and him, came in on a K2 and is also waiting for removal of conditions. How does citizenship work for her?
Thank you!

Hello, I need confirmation. My husband came last year on K1. He got his AOS and has his permanent residency card for 2 years. His EAD is expiring, does he have to renew this every year? or does the permanent residency card serve as the employment verification to work.
-
I wouldn't recommend this, but in my case. I had access only to bank statements and 2 years prior to my interview, for example: 2013 Tax return and it is 2015.

Chineke bella. Na wa o. Lord what did they give them shots of gold. My husbands was N40,000 back in March because he had to get an extra test to check his heart. So an additional N10,000 Otherwise he would have been good to go. He just got the 3 shots also.
Gold for sure!!!!

It has been successful! I wrote this post because I spent lots and lots of time getting to know him! If was angry at me, he never let on. This is a man who knows I work 12 -15 hours a day now and he helps me around the house and I have no problem making sure he has his native soup and "swallow". It is about sacrifice and if neither of us want to look at each others sacrifices.. then we literally blind or really really selfish.
Tips of an American .. through marriage now an AFRICAN!
- Spend time cooking from You Tube videos: Egusi, Vegetable or Stew before he gets here. (do not make him eat American! come on now!)
- A clear budget on finances and being able to communicate about it.
If you can master the talk of money and food... and don't be surprised if you have to teach him how to hug and kiss! My husband had really worked hard at learning me. But, I am also considered an IRON LADY.. and that I guess is easier for him to handle (or so he says). Most men wont do well if you are a DRAMA QUEEN.

We went to QLIFE and for our little girl it cost us 120,000 N. They said it was because she need vacinations, but they only did 3 and requested that I get the boosters when I get back to the US. My husbands cost was 80,000 N.

Happy Day. We have received our biometric appointment and have already completed. Yet, our receipt # does not give any return status on on the USCIS website (https://egov.uscis.gov). Is anyone else having this error? Thank you.
It gives me this error:
Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:- You are attempting to add a receipt number that does not exist in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again.

Thank you! I emailed them so hopefully they respond promptly. My fiance completed the DS-160 prior to payment...will that be a problem? ? We have police reports already thank God...so I am very excited. Thanks so much agaIt
I am sure you are fine. It is well! Keep in touch!!!

Ok, my fiance completed his DS-160 and we are waiting on packet 3 (so he can get his medical done)...I told him he has to go to GT Bank to pay the application fee but when I went on the travel docs site to try and get packet 3...this is what I read:
Fee Payment Options
-
Cash at Bank
With the exception of K visa applicants who must pay at the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, any nonimmigrant visa applicant can pay their visa application fee in cash at any GTBank branch. At the bank, you must write your fee payment amount and your telephone number in the U. S. visa fee collection slip available at the bank. After receiving your payment, the bank will give you a receipt.
So now I'm a bit confused...also it was said that we don't have to wait for packet 3 but won't he need the letter in packet 3 to present at medical?
Others are saying you can schedule your interview on the phone once you pay the $260
I am so excited for you. Your process is coming along nicely.
How did your fiancee fill out the DS-160 without paying the $265.00 fee @ GT BANK? This is the steps I did.. in order.
Email - lagosiv@state.gov if you havent already done so to receive an email explaining everything listed below.
Your fiance will do the following:
1. Go to GTB Bank and pay the Fee $265.00 (You will need this receipt # when you fill out your DS-160 online)
2. Fill out the DS-160 Form online @ https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx
3. Go do your Medical @ Children's Place or QLIFE (I went to QLIFE and did not need any email or letter, I just told them that I was a K1 category - - took 5 business days)
4. Get your police report done at Algabon (This can usually be done same day)
5. Schedule your Interview @ http://www.ustraveldocs.com. (I finished the above in 5 days and was able to schedule the appt within a week)
6. Compile your affidavit of support, and any/all documents listed on the email.
So happy for you! A few more weeks and you will have your VISA in hand by the GRACE of ALMIGHTY GOD!

We went to our medical without the scheduled appointment. Because we knew our Visa Category then they were fine. We took the email where the IVC requested for the medical with us.

I am excited for you! I hope the very best for you!
My hubby too is home and today he is mowing our 2 acre lawn with a push mower and wont let anyone help him! He is sooo cute! I am going to reward him with stew and rice! Being married to a strong, hardworking and protective Nigerian is blissful!!
-
The website said issues on a Friday and Monday was a Nigerian Holiday, we went Tuesday first thing when they opened and the Visa was there! So happy for you!!! Congrats!
-
Check on Friday by sending an email to lagosiv@state.gov. They will send you a checklist to have your fiancee do. Mainly, it is the affidavit of support and instructions. Also where to go for your medical and also the police report. Once you pay for your visa Fee at GTBank you can schedule your appt online.
Bless you!

Congrats!!!!!! So happy for you!

I believe every country is different. I provided to my fiancee at the time of his interview. I also am self employed. I did not want to provide my tax returns ( why.. because for those who own a business, it is very personal!! - most wouldn't understand and NO I AM NOT HIDING ANYTHING!). I provided one set of 1099's from a customer for the last 3 years, 6 months of bank statements and a statement from one of my clients showing the last year of deposits. I proved that I made more than enough to satisfy their requirements. More than enough was 5 times the poverty level. I did not feel it was necessary at that stage nor anyone else know my true net worth. That was for a discussion face to face with my future husband. (IF they would have asked, I was ready to submit.)
I do not want to mislead you, but I think that it really depends on the country, the circumstances.
Here is some other's reading..

I-765 and I-131 have their fees waived when filed with a pending I-485, so include both for the K-1 and K-2.
Cost for the I-485 for the K-2 is based on age of the child > See Special Instructions > https://www.uscis.gov/i-485
Thanks bunches!
-
Hello! We say Hello and we hope everyone is well. Can you clarify the cost:
I-485 (came to US on K1) Fiancee/Husband
I-485 (came to US on K2) Daughter
I-785 Work authorization
I was all set to pay for each one separately, when I read a forum today that said the I785 is FREE when filed with the I485.

Dwheels in right on track. We used the same flight to POE Houston for $983.00 per ticket. We had 3 tickets! We booked the tickets on 5/4 and flew out 5/7.

You are grabbing this journey with both hands and saying VICTORY! You have come a long way and your only going to be stronger as the days, weeks and months go on! Command your day each day with words of assurance! I am believing great things for you! My husbands daughter went to the zoo for the first time, it is days like this... that makes all the waiting worth it. To see that little girl light up for receiving a color page and a crayon!
