We received a notice of additional processing requirements today in the mail. It says to provide evidence to establish our marriage is bonafide by submitting wedding pictures of the ceremony and wedding receptions with family and friends and the wedding invitations. It says we may also include joint bank accounts, joint leases, joint mortgage, insurance policies, cancelled checks, joint bills, income tax returns, affidavits from the beneficiary's family, photos. We got married at the Sub Registrar's Office at the area of our residence with 3 of our friends as witnesses. We did not have a big ceremony or a reception and no wedding invitations were passed out. We married this way only because we had no approval from the beneficiary's family.  Our bank also said we cannot have a joint bank account even though we are married because they are not allowed to make a joint bank account with an Indian national and a foreign national. The only evidence we can send back is the new joint lease on our rented house that we have since June 6th 2019 and a letter explaining our situation in detail. Maybe a letter from the bank saying why they can't let us have a joint bank account if that is possible to get. Would that be sufficient along with some additional photos to satisfy the field office director? We have plenty of proof as evidence from the Indian visa paperwork for the petitioner's Indian residency visa to show that we have been living under the same roof for over 11 months now. and they are all submitted already.

If you have Indian Visa and wife is there for 11 months then u have oci? If u have oci then apply for pancard also and get bank account.  My husband is Indian.  I got my pan and oci and got easily a joint account with him.  I dont know why u haven't been successful in a bank account.  Besides that.  Our case was similar.  Original interview was in October 2017.  Kept in ap for 8 months (same bonafide marriage docs as u) then returned to uscis.  We were again approved in Feb 2019.  And 2nd interview in June 2019.  They again put us in AP.  It's only been 2 weeks but it's very frustrating.  We are now IR1 since we have had our 3rd anniversary now.  Best of luck

I would like to know any ones opinion on our situation.... They collected my husband's fingers prints and civil documents. They returned his passport and told him they will email him with what they need. The called him this morning and sent Jim and email requesting information that is in the paperwork. Employment, siblings names and bdays, my info, his addresses for the last 15 years. Do this sound hopeful or should we begin to get worried?

Wow sorry to hear this😐 my friend.  I have no advise for you, since I am still 2 weeks away from Vinods interview.  I hope it all works out quickly.  Did you goto the interview? I leave in a week for ours.  I am nervous.  Keep me updated!

    UPDATE:

    Our case was reviewed!!

The bad news is...we got a checklist for the financial support documents. BOOOOO....:crying:

But I just wanted to add my info in, letting you all know that the first round took only 7 weeks. I hope it goes that fast for everyone!

    Scan date: 8/3

    Review finished: 9/27 (I was notified 9/28)

don't despair.. I got a checklist as well on our 864a.. it is a bummer but it only took 3 week (that included sending, receiving, reviewing, and closing our case).  Now, we are quickly approaching our interview in a couple of weeks.  I leave for india to accompany him in 6 days😀

  4. Just an update.. my flight is booked to India on the 11 of October, his medical is on the 12th, bio on the 15th, interview in Mumbai on the 18th, and then 12 days in Goa to enjoy Diwali and relax a little while we wait for his visa to be ready.  I pray all goes as planned and he will be returning with me to the states on the 3rd of November😍😍😍.  I know it's not recommended but we booked his flight back with me already because I got a great price on tickets so I jumped on the offer.  Anyway.. goodluck to everyone who is waiting.  This craziness will end one day and the happiness begins😍

Np. Also see if the consulate's holiday list to plan better.

Yes I did.  We are on the 18th of October and they close the 19th and 20th (Thursday/friday) so they won't open again until the 23rd.  Was planning to return on the 1st of November.  So that gives us only 8 days.  I may delay until the 3rd or 4th😊 just to give a little extra time

I had scheduled a courier. It reached me in 3 days.

Many of them here picked it up. It was available for pick up next day.

Ok thank you😊.. I was just informed diwali is 1 day after my interview so.. it may delay courier a little but, your information helps me alot thanks again

  10. Ok everyone I need your expert advise: for anyone who interviewed at Mumbai Embassy..

How long did it take to get your visa?

Did it get couriered or did u pick it up from the embassy?

....asking because our interview is just before Diwali (1 day before) and wondering if that will cause any delays.  Because of other reasons I am forced to book our return flight (s) before our interview so.. wondering just how long I should give.  2 weeks is enough??

I know anything can happen at the interview but..i am just assuming everything will go as planned.  Worst case is.. I have to return and book him another flight at a later date... thank you all for your response😊

  11. I see so many having problems paying the fees.  I was given a tip from another person a long time ago...(this payment problem has been happening for a longgg time with nvc)

If you have a netspend card (or any prepaid card service) you can get the routing/account number associated with the card and use it to pay the fees and it is an instant transaction.  The card may have a $2-3 charge with it to use it as a ach (checking) transaction... but well worth it.  I did this and it worked great.  No issues.  Just passing along the info for others.  It may help someone else😊
