  1. Yes if the vaccines are free you may as well. I was just thinking if your paying for them it would have saved you the pennies :)

It is kind of worrying that you vaccination record appears to be untraceable. Mine were in like a baby/child vaccine booklet and maybe because of your childhood history you do not have that.

Try not to worry about them too much because if you are missing them they will give you the opportunity to have them done at Knightsbridge, if this happens then take it for sure :)

They are lovely at the medical so I'm sure even when explain you didn't have access to a childhood vaccine record they will work with you to find what you need and offer it to you, but if you say no its okay they will not try and stop you or even state that it will cause you problems later down the line.

Either way... congrats on your engagement by the way

Best of luck with the whole process

  2. Polio is not on the list. I know I had already had this but I don't think this is mentioned on the form they gave me back at Knightsbridge.

Nich-Nick's post that has been put up above is always a good read. She is a very intelligent woman and knows a lot about this process. She has helped me through a lot of it :)

You don't need those Hep jabs I'm sure of it. The MMR if there is no record yes, the Tetanus yes, Influenza yes if in season but I don't think you need the other ones going off that table that I wrote out for you. Purely because I'm a dummy and can't work out how to upload it for you but it is over their official website :)

  3. I would say that it needs to match his passport. If his passport says he has no surname then I would think every document he has or will ever have will have no surname...

I could be wrong as I have never come across with someone with no surname but obviously different cultures have different things.

If you can complete your profile so it says what country he is from someone from the admin may spot it and move the forum to his country of residence and someone there may have had the same thing.

You find it will probably help you a lot in getting your answer :)

  4. I agree about the bank account, I would not mention it unless it asks you if you have one which I don't think it does.

If it does ask you then obviously you should say yes and answer it truthfully but otherwise don't give information that they don't ask for.

I think the joint account is a really unusual thing for K1 applicants and as Cruise said, this may raise suspicions of your relationship status.

  5. I don't know about why your records are not available so I am sorry I cannot answer on that one however you may as well just get your shots again...

You do not need that Hep A and B so I hope you haven't paid for those.. :(

I am unsure why it tells you that you need these and it gets really confusing.

I have a list in front of me which is a table but I have tried to input it before and I cannot figure how to do it so I will try and list it for you as best I can.

DTP/DTaP/DT = birth - 1 month no... 2-11 months yes... anything above says no

    Td/Tdap = Birth - 7 years no... 7 years or older yes

IPV = Up until 18 years old

MMR x 2 = Yes if born in 1957 or later

hib = 2 months to 59 months... every other age no

Hep A = 12-23 months yes... every other age no

Hep B = Birth through till 18 years yes ... every other age no

Meningococcal (MCV4) = 11-18 years yes ... every other age no

Varicella = It says yes but this is not a vaccine given in the UK. Its Chicken pox so you just have to tell them when you had it. that is presuming you have

Pneumococcal = birth - 1 month no... 2 - 59 months yes (for PCV)... every other age no... apart from 65 and older for PPV

Influenza = yes if when you go for your medical it is in season (this is only available in the UK at certain times of the year. I had my medical in November and had to have the Influenza)

Although doctors in the UK will tell you the Tetanus lasts for life they are wrong. you have to have it within ten years for it to be valid in the USA.

Just so you know in advance because I got caught out with this and I was a bit miffed that I didn't know and nowhere does it tell you, other than people on here. I just didn't read it until after going to my medical.

If you are short of any vaccinations when you go for your medical PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not say don't worry I will have it done at my doctors before I go. they will not try and stop you from doing this but it will be a costly mistake.

They will tell you that's fine which is true you can get your K1 without them however, what they will not tell you is that you will have to see a US civil surgeon before applying for your AOS. which will cost you big bucks no doubt.

suck up the cost of the vaccines and have them done there at the doctors. you will kick yourself if you don't. Believe me I wish I had a second chance to get them so my file was complete.

I hope this helps you :)

  6. See, I knew someone would know the consequences of the marked answer somewhere.

The only reason I say to tick yes is because it says underneath to list what you intend to contribute with. That way if you tick yes I would think they will look at the bottom of what you intend to do. That will give you chance to still explain that it is for the K1 visa and you intend to support them entirely rather than making certain contributions.

It sounds like a few people will now come up with this question so whatever you do please make sure you update VJ after the I-134 has been used... I get the feeling it will help a lot of people out :)

  7. I think you story sounds really confusing so i cant answer a lot of your questions. You live in Mexico but do you intend on going back to live in the states. I thought the USC would have to live there to apply but i obviously could be wrong or just completely confused.

Normally people filing for the K1 don't have a mutual bank account as they are not usually living together so again this just confuses me more

When you submit the I-129f you do not need the beneficiary's birth certificate or at least my USC fiance didn't have mine. She just had the G-325a, passport photo and letter of intent from me. Obviously your fiance has been married before so I am not sure when you include this or whether this is something they would normally just take to the interview (I'm sorry I just don't know because I have never been married or nor has my fiance so this didn't come up for us)

  8. It asks if you intend to make specific contributions and if you tick yes then state in the bottom on part 7 what contributions you intend to make.

If it was me I would have asked the same question but if no one answered I would tick yes to make sure they read part 7 and then I would still write NA K1 visa or whatever it is that people were advising you should write on the previous form. Others may just say no. Because you don't intend to only make specific contributions but support them entirely.

That is confusing now isn't it because they used to be lots of answers on what to write but now there isn't.

    hmmmm...

Sorry I can't advise you completely but maybe someone else will now come back and say what they would do

  9. I agree with Lionessdion, Calling them very 5 minutes while waiting for your NOA2 (which is the longest time wait i believe) would just cause frustration and unnecessary phone bills.

You calling them will not make it move along any quicker and I do not see any benefits in constantly calling. You know they have it as they have sent your NOA1 so try and stay patient and carry on with your life as normal and start preparing for the big one. :)

Best of luck with your journey, I wish you a smooth process

  10. also someone on VJ a while back as in a few years ago posted that they had their medical and had to have 3 shots and the cost for those 3 shots were around 300 soles

Someone underneath this post said they had their medical and had to have all the vaccinations and the vaccines along with the cost of the medical was 1000 soles

I would guess the cost depends on how many vaccinations you need the same way it does in the UK.

  11. It seems you are right and they are not on that website unlike the UK version.

I believe the vaccines are more accustomed to the USA rather than where the beneficiary is coming from but I could be completely wrong.

I am sorry I could just see no one had responded to you or even moved the thread to your region so someone else may be able to answer it.

If the list of vaccines is the same as the UK then this is required however, some of these do not actually apply if you look at the table. Some are given as babies and some are seasonal.

I have added a picture but not sure it will actually put this up so if not I will try something else

    Displaying IMG-20161229-WA0001.jpg

  12. Okay that helps :)

Have you tried looking on here as this?

    https://pe.usembassy.gov/

This is the Peru alternative to where people in the UK get the lists from.

Some of the vaccines are not available in certain countries, others are for when you are a baby, things like Influenza depends on the time of year (or at least it does here in the UK)

You will probably find your Fiance is better to call their doctor before hand and see if they can get vaccines there before going to the medical. Sorry not sure how it works in Peru but I got mine done before hand.

  13. I am sorry I wish I could advise you directly but sadly I do not know but...

Somewhere on the huge internet there is a website that lists things that they count as 'stable' income and what doesn't count.

I would definitely recommend doing a really good search for that list and I would also second Penguin when it comes to supplying bank statements showing the deposits into your bank.

I remember reading on here before someone who provided bank statements but it didn't actually show any deposits into the account so it was the most pointless thing unless they had the amount in savings which they didn't (theirs was a case of new job and low tax return the year before)

I am sorry I don't understand how the US tax system works yet so that is the reason for my next question...

Does any of the retirement from the military, disability from the Veterans Administration and Social Security Disability have to go through your tax return?

  14. So you may be able to use them then if you want to avoid using a co-sponsor at this point... Also I think if you use assets it said something about this has to be proved that if ever used to pay something that it would not cause hardship to the sponsor. so for example say you owned a house and something happened where you needed to sell the house to pay the bill... this would be classed as hardship as it would potentially render you homeless. So again I am not 100% certain how that works but I remember reading it about 18 months ago...

As we looked at both options to live either here in the UK or the USA I could be confusing the assets part with the UK immigration rules, so please double check that or have someone else confirm it before relying on it as obviously would want anything to jeopardise your K1 application :)

  15. Thank you for sharing. That has blown my mind a little bit actually just because I don't remember having to do that. As I said I just had to complete the form of previous work history and detail what my positions entailed.

Its just amazing the difference between the requirements for each country.

I guess this just educates people like me that the people who are best to advise you are people that have been through the same process and are from the same country :)

    Thanks again for educating me

I wish you the best of luck with your journey and hope everything runs as smoothly as possible

  16. The only reason I thought this was because some people have sponsored without a job and used savings or assets. I am not entirely sure how this works though but I remember on the I-134 it asks you how much savings you have and what you own basically so I am guessing this is where they see you are using savings or assets rather than income.

So I would say Brandon, If you have any savings these may meet the shortfall requirement (depending on how much below that 100% you are). I know you have to make $16,020 for the 100% and $20,025 for the 125%

I cannot remember if it is either 3 x the amount or 5 x the shortfall. So although your savings (if you were to have and use them) may meet the K1 requirements they may not meet the AOS requirements.

  17. I'm sure I have read differently on here before...

Same thing about if the consulate accepts a co-sponsor and that if they do there can only be one however, I read that only the Co-sponsor that is making above the poverty guideline is required to complete the I-134 and not both the fiance and the co-sponsor.

I could be completely wrong as I am only saying what I thought I had read on VJ previously or I could be confusing this with the AOS affidavit of support.

Also, Just out of curiosity, would I be wrong in thinking you can earn under the poverty guideline if you have enough in savings or liquid assets to make up for your shortfall?

  18. resume, as in the UK equivalent to a CV?  with work history?

I never had to supply my CV for the K1 visa... I had to type out my employment history but I guess I am just interested to know if this is something that other countries request as the UK doesn't.
