  1. Thanks guys. I'm sorry if I confused everyone. I just got a bit worried when the immigration site was saying you need them but then the people on here saying I don't need them. Simple explanation for my simple mind was that I don't meet the requirements for it lol. Please don't think I don't listen to you Nick i always take on board everything you write. You have been a God send to me since I joined this site with all the information and support. I thank everyone for their support ?

  2. I'm sorry I did read your post and I always appreciate your help Nick. I just got a little bit confused when the names changed to initials. Sometimes people really do have to spell things out for me ? can i ask why you say you don't need them but it is on the required vaccinations list. I understand with the flu ones as they don't even exist right now for this year but what about the other like Hep A and B? Is this because it's the k1 visa?

  3. Thanks for your help however I do get confused with these. Here is a list of what I have had or haven't had...

    Hep A - 2007 then booster in 2009

Hep B - not received but can get this

    Influenza - not received

Influenza type B - not received.

(I have spoken to a doctor who said I can get this as a combined injection as of September but not before due to not being that time of year where these are required)

    Measles - received 1994 (MMR)

    Meningococcal- received 2000

    Mumps - received 1994 (MMR)

    Pneumococcal - unsure

Pertussis - 2005 ( this is with tetanus and Diphtheria so may be required to have this again)

Polio - 1994 ( this says it was a booster DT double & Polio, whatever that means )

Rotavirus - no record ( but I believe this is only given to babies and not adults )

    Rubella - received 1994 (MMR)

    Tetanus and Diphtheria- received 2005

Varicella - Not required but doctors have said they can do a test to show I am immune to this as had them as a child. But no doctors record states this

I don't mind paying for them and I will get the Hep B done if required but will start the course now rather than further down the line getting stuck.

I do appreciate all your help :)

  4. I am totally confused by the vaccinations and I just called knightsbridge to ask them. Rude and unhelpful. Told me I would have to wait until my medical to find out. That's ridiculous... I have already had the Hep A so don't need a combo. I can get the Hep B done closer to home literally 5 miles down the road at a cost of about £100 for all the shots. The Influenza I have been told they can do at the same place as the Hep B. However the Influenza type B has got me confused. This is on the list of requirements however is not on the price list for knightsbridge so I don't even know if they do it which is what I was asking. She told me she couldn't tell me until the day of my medical. It's so confusing and this frustrates me. You try and do everything by the book and then you get them making it ridiculously hard ??

  5. I have called my GP and they have told me what I have or have not had. They have also told me that they don't do certain vaccines such as the Hep B. This is a concern as I have read that it is given in 3 to 4 shots over 6 months. They also don't do the Influenza until September... what on earth happens if you cannot get the Hep B in time to finish the course before your medical?

  6. This is what I thought about the cost. I don't want to delay anything and I most definitely don't want to be charged through the roof for injections that I could have had earlier and paid less if of lynne I had thought ahead. I did have CP as a child and there is probably a photograph of it somewhere hehe. Well definitely have some scars from it. I will call the doctor and see what they say. That's a shed load of injections.... ?

  7. If they ask me this question my answer will be my truthful reason which is... we want to live in the USA. My partner has a full time permanent job and qualifications that she has studied for years to get so we feel our situation would be better in the US rather than the UK. For us to marry in the UK and then move to US would mean us applying for the visa to marry here then applying for a marriage visa for USA. We do not want to seperate from each other whilst waiting for the this to all go through. We simply want to be together and start our lives together. I can only be truthful but hopefully this will not cause a denial.

  8. Hey guys it's me again, we have finally sent the package for the k1 visa application and have received the first NOA which is so exciting! As it is now in process I am looking back at the medical and the vaccination I will need. I am able to find a list but does anyone know of this is something I can speak to my doctor about getting instead of waiting until the medical and then having to have them there in London? I know I will have to pay for them but just wanting to get as much sorted as possible before I have that medical. Obviously I don't want to put any delays in there so if I can get them all sorted before hand that would be great. Any help is appreciated :) TIA

  9. I would definitely love to learn the history and the way the US is now. It's a beautiful place and love that my fiance is so knowledgeable and love her stories. I feel like I could learn a lot from her. She's one smart cookie. For now I think I am just focusing on me and my partner getting married and finally living together then somewhere in the future (like you say) when I have experienced the country and picked up information I will look into naturalisation. EM, I know you say a book is given and I have to learn those but that is easier for some than other. Unfortunately for me I don't learn like that as I am dyslexic and a tactile learner which I didn't really want to declare on here but as you do seem to be trying to help me I guess I should explain the reasons why the test may be difficult for me. The idea of tests scare the living daylights our of me. I really can't thank you all enough as you have supported me and answered some questions over the time I have been on here that I really couldn't find answers to. :)

  10. Sorry I'm highly concerned that these replies are coming through in a funny order. I appreciate that US citizens have a high amount of education on history but sadly I don't have that. I would be more than willing to learn about the country that I want to live with my USC partner and maybe take it at later date when I have had time to learn what I need to know. But I am also happy to just live in the US with the green card alone. Thanks again guys for all your help. :)

  11. Hey everyone, I'm not sure if anyone can help me with these two questions but if it's not in the right place just let me know. My first question is about the AOS after the k1 visa being approved and us getting married. I am aware that when applying for the AOS I cannot leave the country but I have also read that this can take years to come through. Am I really expected to go that long without visiting my family back in the UK unless it's an emergency?

My second question which may seem extremely random is actually about naturalisation. How do this work and what does it involve?

If anyone can help me with info that would be great. I know the second question is really far along I am just a little worried that i will never be able to do it if it involves things like history tests lol

    Thanks again

  12. Hey all, really quick question but I'm sure someone knows and can help me. Me and my partner will be applying for the k1 visa but also wanted to book flights to see each other while this is all being processed. I am aware you can visit as long as the immigration officer doesn't think you will stay which is fine. My question is, is there any time limit for the paperwork or dates of interviews? I'm concerned that while I am in the US for a little while that everything will land on my doorstep and I will not be in the country. Will they throw it out after so long or anything like that? Or does it just wait until you do your bit? Thanks in advance everyone :)

  13. Hi all, again... I know you are probably all getting sick of my questions but your help is greatly appreciated!

My partner has asked me to ask the following question as she will be applying for the visa for us.

The question is about documents you send for your k1 application. We need to know what documents have to be original and not a photocopy. We know that things like birth certificates have to be sent, would this need to be original? I know that she will need to send a copy of this package to me however if everything has to be original how can you have 3 copies? If someone can list what has to be original and what can be photocopies thay would be awesome!

Again people that have done this and been successful would be beneficial

    Thanks in advance all!

  14. Unfortunately I do not have them taken on a digital camera only mobile phone. This is simply due to the fact that I brought a camera. Not top of the range just am average Samsung and it broke the first day while I was in the USA. Battery wouldn't stay charged at all and then the lense got stuck in the out position. When it finally went back in it tells me on start up it doesn't work basically. So that went in my bin. Pictures do date stamp on a phone however you have to go into the file to see it. I'm sure we won't have any issues with proof of contact as we are always in contact and as we use what's app I do email our conversations to myself so some clippings of this I would think will suffice along with other things that we can send :)

  15. Thanks for your response Yuna! :)

We have kept all boarding passes from flights and tickets and what not. Quick question though, what sort of proof of places we have been together will be required. We have done a lot of things together but obviously receipts don't really show much apart from a purchase being made or a event being paid for.

It sounds silly probably but we have done lots and lots of things like when we have been in the US together we have been to a football game together (first one for both of us), we stayed in Vegas for a couple of nights and just went wondering around, horseback riding and much more. In the UK we went to Blackpool to go and play on the arcade games, took her to Warwick Castle and Hampton Court, again and lots more but all I really have is card receipts to show it was paid for. I guess I have pictures in all these places so hoping this will be enough.

It's strange because I know we have more than enough to show we have a true relationship but I'm a bit of a worrier sometimes and think of a worse case scenario.

I honestly look at our situation and think it couldn't really be any better than what it already is. :)

  16. Thanks again! You're definitely a big help to me.

Me and my partner have been in a relationship for 10 months today. I have visited her twice in the US and she has been here to England once so far but due to arrive back here in May (which I am so excited for!) Neither of us have children or ever been married before.

She is 21 and I am 26 so only 5 years difference. I feel we have a perfect relationship and both families are happy with us being together. Her grandma even gave me her wedding ring (which feels like such a huge gesture of approval).

I don't want to clutter them with rubbish that they probably don't even care about just wanting to make sure I am able to provide them with everything they need.

When we have visited each other it has been for 2 or 3 weeks at a time so no concerns on the visit requirement within the past 2 years. Easy to prove too as I love to get pictures of the two of us together! Although I am not sure my phone date stamps them but I'm sure me writing it on there as advised will be enough.

This is going to be one huge journey but I'm looking forward to looking back and remember how we never take any moment for granted and also sharing my story and experiences with everyone who wants to know on here...

  17. Hey all, this may sound like a bit of a daft question but I have to ask...

Me and my partner use things like what's app to make calls and Skype every day. Obviously this means we don't have a phone record as such. The only thing I can think of doing is making screenshots of our calls. Does anyone think this won't be enough?

I would really like to hear some success stories if you have done the same thing.

I like to have everything in order and hearing other people's happy stories makes the whole process a little less daunting.

    Thanks all :)

  18. Again thank you so much. Any information I can get really helps me! :D

I am not sure how often people have to file their tax returns in the USA but I thinking she will not have one tax return that shows her earning the amount they require. So I guess she will have to submit the tax returns along with her letter and pay slips. To be truthful I know that I have to file for AOS as quick as possible after the wedding but again not sure if she will have filed the tax return at that point. I think a lot of it depends on the timescale of the whole process.

I don't believe I was ever diagnosed with depression, only a low mood and a depressive episode where I was probably at my lowest. I will always be truthful as I have nothing to hide but I will have a chat with my doctors to confirm what they believe as they are qualified and I am no hehe.

I did think of another question and maybe I need to out this on a new thread but I guess I will put it here and someone will correct me if it's in the wrong place...

When we apply for the k1 visa do I need to be in my country the whole time or can I visit my partner in the USA while waiting for packets or application acceptance? It would be a killer if I am unable to go and visit as she can o lynne visit me here with the holiday entitlement she has.

Thanks again for your help I truly cannot thank you enough :)

  19. Thank you so much for your reply Nick! I think I am maybe worrying about things a little bit more than I should as I want it to be a simple as this can possibly be (even though I know this can be a very complicated thing) :) I know that when it comes to the interview we will have no problem showing proof of our relationship and things like that. She will be soul sponsor providing that the letter from the employer will be enough at this point. She was working before but didn't earn the 100% for 3 years. I know this is past the k1 visa point but do you have any idea if the 3 years tax returns showing the 125% guideline is required at the point of AOS? Or again would the employers letter be enough?

As for the depression side of things I don't believe it is what they would class as suffering depression but my fear is that they will ask me and I say no (as I believe this is the truth) and for some random reason they want a copy of my medical records and see it has depressive episode and see that as I lied... I had one of those periods of time where my thoughts were literally wouldn't life be simpler for everyone if I wasn't around. Felt a bit of a burden to people. But soon came out of it and never acted on those split second thoughts.

1 other really random question though if yourself or anyone else can answer this because this is something that makes me nervous... why do they check you genitalia? What exactly are they looking for?

I only ask because I am a extremely private person and have real issues when it comes to seeing a doctor where they may need to take a closer look in that area, even my chest for that matter... I don't want someone poking, prodding or even staring in that direction. I understand they have to do this as part of the exam but i just need to know what they do so I can even put my mind at rest that they are just taking a quick peep to confirm I am female or get my head around the fact that it will be more than that.

Again thanks for your answer Nick it has helped me a lot and if you or anyone else can advise on my further questions I would be forever grateful,

    Regards, Zoe

  20. Hi all, Me and my partner are looking into filing for the k1 fiance visa and I just have a couple of questions that I don't seem to be able to find answers on. My first question is about the income requirement. My partner is now earning the 125% guideline required for the AOS however she will have only been earning this for around 8 months when the interview date is given... she has filed tax returns but was previously a student worker so not earning anywhere enough when these were filed. My question is, would her previous years tax return, a letter from her employer confirming her employment and earnings confirmation along with months of pay slips be enough?

The other thing I would like to know is about the medical which has me confused rather than concerned... I had a bit of a rough patch where I was feeling stressed on a couple of occasions over a number of years. Due to a lot of it being the job role I was in I went to visit my doctor. To get to the point he always put it down as low mood and on one occasion he put it as depressive episode. Me personally would not class this as me being diagnosed with depression, my question is do they and do I need to tick yes for this? I was never on antidepressants and nor was I ever offered them, only self help. I am sure there are other things I need to know but I feel these are two really important questions on my mind right now. Any advice would be very much appreciated and previous experiences would also be great! Thanks in advance, regards Zoe. PS. I am British and my partner is the US petitioner. If you need anymore information in order to help or advise me just let me know
