I have few questions about the form DS 156. My interview for K1 is on the 2nd of Feb and I'm on the process of double checking my forms ( specifically the 3 forms required - DS 156, DS 156K, DS 157)
1. Are DS 156 and DS 156K the same? I noticed the only difference is the font size and the figure/number at the bottom left of the paper. Other than that, the questions are all the same, as well as the format and everything.
I used the electronic form for DS156. It was suggested since it automatically has a bar code when you print it out. The embassy would prefer to receive those , according to some here who are already done with these stuffs. http://www.theworldoffilipinas.com/forum/i...?showtopic=3683
Now, on question 18. Spouse's full name ( even if divorced or separated ) I answered N/A since I have never been married .
A. But question 19 ask for spouse's DOB. Of course I'll suppose to put N/A again but the only option is the (dd-mm-yyyy) or else I will leave it blank. I can not encode/write the word "N/A". And I have read on the forum that you are not suppose to leave anything blank. You should put NONE or N/A at least . The print out appears blank then.
B. What will I encode/type to those questions/lines that must be answered with NONE or N/A but can't type it?
3. DS 157 can be filled out manually, correct?
4. Can I photocopy the DS 156 forms, so long as I have my original signature on it everytime? Would it matter if I'll print out another DS 156 then I would think I will again get another set of bar codes. What is the best thing to do with this.
5. The 3 forms required are actually attached along with my Packet 4, I noticed it's kinda old ( referring to the beige and classy colored papers) although the expiry date is 7/31/2007 and 9/30/2007. Well, maybe it's just the paper =)
BUT.....DS 157 attached along with my packet 4 is DIFFERENT with DS 157 that can be downloaded on the USE site. Some questions are not the same and the format is just totally different....It's confusing me. If I would choose it, I'd use the forms sent to me along with the Packet 4, that way, I would think is "safe" and I can tell them I just followed your instructions.
DS 157 sent along with the packet vs DS 157 downloadable
has only 5 set of questions has around 18 questions
more specific and detailed
expires: 7/31/2007 9/30/2008 ( wonder if this would even matter too)
IT"S JUST DIFFERENT
What DS 157 form to use then?
Anyone encountering the same concern?
I WILL GLADLY APPRECIATE ANY RESPOND. THANKS AHEAD.

Does anyone have the fax number at the USE to request a rescheduled interview?
US Manila Embassy Fax Number
(001-632) 3384129

We also had questions about her CENOMAR. Hers says "this cert is issued for passport/travel purposes" Is that correct or should it same something about it is for marriage purposes?
Thanks in advance.
Anyone know about the CENOMAR?
I also had a question on the I-134. Section 3 where I fill out her address what do I put for under the State box? Is that the same as the province over there? If I just leave it blank for state then where would I put the province?
Thanks.

Try USPS. They're much cheaper. I've sent stuff to Cambodia on 4-5 day air for about $25. UPS and FedEx are the most expensive.
Heck, it sounds like a really good excuse for you to just get on a plane and hand carry the documents to her, that's what I did
Good luck!
That was the initial plan but the Interview came a little sooner than we had planned so I wont be able to get back to see her until March which is when she'll fly back with me.
-
Also was wondering whats the best way to mail this to her. UPS wants $70 to send just the packet of paper to her... any other better options?
-
I'm about to mail all the stuff to May for her interview and wanted to make sure I'm sending all the things she should need.
I'll send:
-
Copy of entire I-129f packet that I mailed off earlier
Send a more recent letter of intent to marry
I-134
Last couple of pay stubs
Last 2 years tax papers
Letter from employer stating position, salary and statement of being a full time employee
Copy of the NAO2 I received in the mail
There was already proof of an ongoing relationship in the I-129f packet but I'll update the phone records and emails we have since the I-129f packet was sent in.
Is there anything else I need to send to her?
We also had questions about her CENOMAR. Hers says "this cert is issued for passport/travel purposes" Is that correct or should it same something about it is for marriage purposes?
Anything else I should be thinking about or that I left out?
Thanks in advance.

US Embassy in Manila Call Center
Dial 011-63-909-101-7878 ?
I too am confused about what number to dial. May called 011-63-2-528-6300 ext 5184 which I got out of a signature here on the board. I tried to call the 1-909-101-7878 number since it looks like a US number but I get a message saying call cannot be completed. Is this number 011-63-909-101-7878 the right one or can she use her cell to dial 1-909-101-7878.
I'm so excited I can't even think straight.
*edit*
May called 011-63-2-528-6300 ext 5184 from her cell and got the date. FEB 2!!!

There really is no official keeper of this list. Anyone who wants to make updates and post here is welcome. Sorry but I have no idea how the I-130s work and so my list has been only the I-129s. PLEASE keep providing updates, especially your Case Number MNL2006-nnn and we can all benefit as the actual interview schedules are published.
My Case number is MNL2006770 in case that helps put my name into order on the list.

I think I read somewhere on here the interview schedule gets updated every 3rd Tuesday of the month. Is this right? Like if our appointment date was not released last month then hopefully it will be released this month on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.
Once the USE in Manila receives your actual physical file from the NVC, you (Filipina fiance) will receive a "pre-interview letter," telling you that they have received your file and that the waiting time for an interview will be approximately 120 days from the date they received your file. Actually, the Immigrant Visa Unit is now saying that the waiting time is 120-150 days. My fiance and I are still waiting for an interview date, which we hope will be in January but it might be as late as February (our physical file was "documentarily qualified" on September 11). You are correct about the USE in Manila releasing the appointment schedule in the middle of each month, but they only release one month's schedule at a time. January's schedule will be released the middle of this month (November). From your timeline, it looks like Manila has not yet received your file from the NVC...so, unfortunately, you still have a lot of waiting to do. Join the club...that's what we do best around here is WAIT. It's really difficult being away from the one we love, but we have to trust that the future is in God's hands and that, when the time is right, everything will fall into place.

Thanks for the reply. My fiancée has received documentation about the interview. I don't know the exact documentation she has received though because it was sent to her parents house and is waiting for her there to come back on a weekend or something.
I don't have the following parts updated in my timeline because I don't really know where to find out the information at. Maybe I can update it once my fiancée checks the letter she received?

Ahhhh... I couldn't agree more with the results. I get to deal with many of the people that more than likely contributed to our ranking.
I'm amazed almost daily at the things people do. It keeps things semi interesting I guess.

Here's to hoping your journey is speedy and your time apart is short. Is he out at Luke AFB now?

Congrats to all those that got dates just recently. I can't imagine how it feels....hopefully I'll be feeling the joy here soon. Do any of you plan on going to the interview with your fiance/e? I'm thinking I'll go back to be with her during the interview and then have her fly back with me.
I get like
:energetic:
just thinking about finally being together. Got a new house on the way and a new wife ahh life couldnt get much better.
Again congrats to all the recent VJ's that received there dates.

I have another questions.
Say our interview date is 11/01/06. The interview goes wella nd the visa is approved. How long until my fiancee gets her visa and can come over with me?
TIA
That is very optimistic considering the embassy must have just got it. The wait time is on average 110 days from the time the embassy gets your petition. If the interview is successful then the visa will get to your fiance 3-7 days later.
Oh, please fill in your timeline. You don't have your NOA2 or the NVC dates on there yet.
Nah, I wasn't saying that is the actual date I was just using that as an example. We were wanting to have things work out like: I fly down maybe a week prior to her interview date. She then has her interview and then I was wanting her to fly back with me but I didnt know if that was possible or how long it took from the interview date to the date she could come back.
I forgot how to update my timeline. I go to timeline under my profile but doesnt show anywhere to edit it.

I have some questions to make sure my fiancée and I understand all this stuff.
I have the letter that says "The State Department's National Visa Center has recently received an approved I-129F petition filed on behalf of your fiancée......"
She is still waiting for the packet and all that on her end. She already has the documents completed that she is going to need and her police records and such. Once she receives the packet in the mail does she call to schedule the medical exam or will it have a date already assigned? Does she have to wait for the packet to actually get there to schedule it or since the Case number is on the paper I have can she go ahead and schedule it? I would think she would wait to do the exam in Manila around the time of her interview so she doesn't have to travel twice. I guess my question is at this point do we just wait to hear what date they give for the interview and then schedule the exam a few days prior or do we need to initiate things to let them know she is ready for the interview and then they will issue a date?
Thanks

I got all this from Here Maybe this will give you a start and other more experienced VJ members can comment.

I included everything, even though my salary is way above the poverty level... figured it was good practice for the I-864.
As far as links go, you can start with these:
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...amp;page=k1flow
http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...&cty=Manila
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;page=examples
Jen
The I-134 is the document I need to complete correct? I read this "Some require an I-864. If yours does, send that instead." and want to make sure the I-134 is the one I'm supposed to you. Do they differ per country or some other way?
Thanks

1) The portion "I derive an annual income of _____________" I need to put my base salary correct? I work 8-10 hours overtime per week but I assume when asked they want my based "guaranteed" salary. Correct? My base salary is $33945.60. Is that in itself enough to qualify? If not, my check stubs show that I will exceed $45,000 this year if they will even take that into consideration.
2) The very next blank "I have on deposit in savings banks in the United States" This is just asking how much I have in a savings account? Does a checking account qualify? This kind of leads into the next part of my questions. I currently have about $10,000 cash in the bank but by the time the interview comes up and all that it will more than likely be about half of that. I am in the process of buying a new home so some of that money will be used for all the fees and such. Do I need to even worry about putting anything there then?
3) I just barely got NAO2 approved, 09/20/06, and am trying to get this ready to send off. Am I completing this form to much in advance or is it ok?
Lastly, I still need to read up on what is next in this process after the NAO2 approval. If anyone has good information or links post'em up please. I'd greatly appreciate it.
As always, thanks in advance.

Thu, 21 Sep 2006 12:00:53 -0400 (EDT) for mine. They spammed my email to make sure I got it maybe
.
I got 5 emails with the same thing.
Maybe they were tired of me spamming there servers logging in to check status so they are trying to get me back.

I was touched on the 19th and approved on the 20th. I didnt receive the approval email until the 21st though, so hopefully you will have similar luck and get an email today saying you are approved.

*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***
The following is the latest information on your case status
Receipt Number: WAXXXXXXXXX
Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)
Current Status:
This case has been approved. On September 20, 2006, an approval notice
was mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this
notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your
address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business
hours.
I guess now I just have to read the forums some more to find out what the next steps of the process are. I was very surprised as I was kind of hoping that it would just be done before the first of the year. Good luck to all those that are waiting. I hope everyone can have a quick resolution to there current situation.
Back to getting K-1. We were at Medical exam a year ago.

The packet was approved up to the medical exam on her part. We had some things happen to have to hold off on the process. We are not ready to get this done and get her over here. Do we need to start the process all over?
Thanks
