  1. Hey ALFKAD...FAKE NEWS. You be sure and follow this FAKE NEWS STORY and you just might want to try and verify authenticity with AT LEAST ONE OTHER NEWS ORGANIZATION because FOX lost all credibility years ago...long before Trump.  Or even better, if you want to broadcast news stories, why don’t you contact the congresswoman’s office for verification. You conclude your FAKE NEWS STORY WITH THE LAME REMARK, “seems legit.”  Just EXACTLY makes it seem legit?  How did you attempt to verify this earth-shaking news story before you posted here?  And WHY is this information pertinent to VISA JOURNEY???  The story, even if true has NOTHING TO DO WITH VISA JOURNEY AND ITS MISSION.

  2. **UPDATE**  02-19-19      A call to the NVC revealed how wonderful it must be to have a job in the federal government!  Talk about no stress!  The person at NVC was very nice, HOWEVER, I was advised that it takes approximately one month for the information to be received at NVC once it is sent by USCIS.  Amazing!  How can it take a month to be received at NVC?????  Is it sent there on the back of a 3 legged turtle???  Anyway, the nice person at NVC also told me that it can take up to 8 weeks to input into the NVC computer system FROM THE DATE RECEIVED AT NVC!!!!!  Once again, amazing.  And I thought service at the post office was s l o w.  So...a month to get from USCIS to NVC...and then another 8 weeks or so just to be input into the computer system there.  Once input into the system, which is usually about 3 months after it leaves USCIS, NVC should issue a case number and instructions.  So, for everyone out there who is wondering what happens after your petition is approved by USCIS....here you go...now you know.

  3. I received the I-797 NOA dated 12-27-18 with information indicating the approved petition was sent to the National Visa Center.  As of 02-18-2019, I have received two emails from NVC indicating that the information has not been input into the computer system yet, so a case number can't be provided.  Other postings within this topic seem to indicate the wait time to be approximately 8 weeks to receive a case number from NVC.  In my case, 8 weeks will be 02-21-19.  This is a petition to bring my unmarried, minor child to the USA (age 9) to the USA from Philippines.  HOPEFULLY, the ridiculous US Government Shutdown has not adversely affected the NVC, but who knows???  For the benefit of all who are experiencing this delay at NVC, I will post an update when I receive my case number (maybe this week??????????)  If anyone has a comment for information, please post as I would appreciate it.  Thank you!

  4. My fiancé entered the USA on July 1, 2016 using a K-1 fiancé visa. We married 70 days after entry, and we are preparing Application for Adjustment of Status including I-485, G-325A, I-765, I-94, and I-864 along with all appropriate supporting documentation that should be submitted along with these documents. TWO QUESTIONS regarding I-131 Application for Travel Document -- (1) At this time, no travel outside the USA is planned, but what is an emergency occurs back in the Philippines which would require spouse to travel back there? I-131 asks for specific travel dates, but we are submitting document just in case travel back to Philippines is necessary AND because there is no fee if filed along with I-485. No travel outside USA is planned at this time. How should this be handled? (2) Part 2, Application Type -- 1a? or 1d??? We are filing for AOS as a result of our recent marriage. It appears 1d is the appropriate answer but I am unsure. 1d states -- I am applying for an advance parole document to allow me to return to the US after temporary foreign travel. 1a states -- I am a permanent resident or a conditional resident of the US and I am applying for a reentry permit. WHICH TO USE??????? We are just now submitting packet to obtain adjustment of status.

  5. My fiancé resides in the Philippines. On May 4, 2016, the National Visa Center received the approved I-129F petition from USCIS, and has forwarded my petition to the US Embassy in Manila. The letter states that the US Embassy in Manila will contact my fiancé when ready to process her petition. BIG PROBLEM---Her phone was recently stolen, and she has changed her address in the Philippines. How can I notify the US Embassy of her new contact information? I am about to complete the DS-160 and I can indicate her current address and Phone number within that document. Is this sufficient to notify the Embassy of her new contact information? Should I do something in addition to the DS-160 to notify Embassy of new contact information? Thank you in advance for your response and suggestions.
