  1. Hi everyone.

We submitted the i-130 in February and just realized we might have made a mistake.

Question 22 is Complete the information below if your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status and there are two questions: one for the USCIS field office and another one that is basically like "If not eligible for AOS, relative will apply at the following consulate"

We answered this question when we saw the second question (i.e. the choice of American Consulate). However, I (the beneficiary) am not in the US...

    Should we contact USCIS?

  2. There are UK Schools in the US (having lived in New York for a few years, I know for a fact that international schools are always looking for international teachers and are more than willing to sponsor) that might be willing to sponsor your wife for a work visa (I believe she has the post secondary education and the work experience for the H-1B and then you could possibly immigrate with a green card after you started your life in the US)

Or you could try to open your own company for disabled students (trust me it pays WELL, my husband does it) and if you are willing to invest at least $500,000 and create jobs you would be eligible for an EB-5

Or to be honest, I lived in Canada for a while and I know they do this there I'm not sure about the US: you start your own company, hire people, get it started and your own company sponsors you for an H-1B... this procedure might be the longest though

Good luck, I know how it feels to have the American Dream at heart and I wish you guys a lot of success!

  3. My husband and I (same sex partners) just came back from Turks and Caicos for Spring Break. He lives in NY and I live in Montreal.

We went through customs together, I am a French Citizen so got into the us under the VWP and in the middle of the i-130 process. We're both 21 yo, part-time employed and students. No questions asked, did not lie about the nature of our relationship (we were even wearing our wedding rings) and got into the US in less than one minute. So relaxxxx! :)

  4. That makes 3 of us! I got the "Acte de naissance Plurilingue" for my birth certificate. It's free at city halls in France and an official birth certificate translated in like 10 languages

Haaaa finally someone in the same situation as me (french living in Canada) Welcome!

I am pretty sure we have to translate them since it is for the US consulate so it has to be in english. :s
