  1. Thanks!

The case records for my EAD are *a mess* - like, the sequence they put those status changes in makes absolutely no sense!!

Agreed! Mine went from "Received" to "Name Updated" then "Approved," and skipped "New Card Being Produced." Nothing since changing to "Approved." Also had 3 updates just to let us know they changed our address as requested.

  2. Just looked through the statuses and history for a bunch of EAD and AP cases online. It isn't at all consistent as far as each "status update" and in what order.

    Received>Name Update>Approved

    Received>New Card Being Produced>Approved

    Received>Approved>New Card

    Received>New Card

I'm assuming that each case worker is meant to do the updates as they work on the case, and they're not all on the same page :/ I didn't see any that said "card has been mailed," but maybe those are from earlier dates.

  3. Just says Case has been received for the EAD and approved for the AP. Unfortunately I think the lady saw the AP approval and maybe combined them and used the same approval and expiration date.

The lady at the InfoPASS that is

Keep an eye on the EAD, usually they are worked on together and some people see the approval status a couple days apart. It also could be that both were approved but the system didn't update for both. You should get letters in the mail in a few days, I hope you get approval letters for both!

  4. Alright I think I'm getting the run around. At my infoPASS appointment this morning I was told my EAD was approved yesterday. I got my call back from the Tier 2 agent today and she said I cannot get my EAD/AOS approved without biometrics (I had mine done in 2013 for my P1, not sure if that carries over) and that my EAD is still processing. Do they not use the same system?? How does one say it's approved and the other doesn't?

What's the status online? If it says "Approved" there, that's what I would go with. You won't always get accurate info. when you call, even from Tier 2.

  5. Wouhou!!!! Got an email that my EAD card is being produced! However, I have a question. For my AP, they said "name has been updated"......is it because I have my visa under my maiden name, and they need to change it before producing the card, if ever? they confuse me.....

Both EAD and AP for us said "Name was updated" the day before we were approved. I believe it just means they are about to approve the case and they didn't necessarily make any updates to your name.

  6. My EAD card status went right into "In production" and 3 or 4 days later i had the letter in the mail that its apporved and my combi card should come soon but since then nothing happened.

Interesting. For us, both EAD and AP went "Name Updated" then "Approved" at the same time. Nothing about the card being in production. We got the approval letter in the mail yesterday. I guess I'll count on it being a couple weeks anyway!

  7. Sorry to hear this, London is usually easy. Did you know your fiance already (albeit only online) between 2010-2013? Like others said, it sounds like he should write a letter outlining the timeline of your knowing each other (when/on what site you started talking) as well as when you began your relationship. Be specific with dates, locations etc. It is possible they are ruling out that you were shopping around for a green card marriage. But it's a good sign that they kept your passport, that means they are intending to approve you once you provide further documentation.

  8. Hi, me and my wife are thinking of moving to a new house in a couple of months. Does anybody know if changing the address while on AOS is a pain in the ### and if the process geta delayed or papers get lost commonly?

    Thank you

We changed address recently, a little over a month after filing for AOS. It was 2 forms, the AR-11 online, and the I-865 (change of address for the sponsor/s on the I-864). We got confirmation of both in the mail within a week. So far no problems.

  9. How many years of federal income tax returns do you have to send with the AOS package? I read the instructions to the i-864 and it was a crazy amount of text in there. It mentioned both 3 years and only the latest tax year's return - so which is it? :o

You only have to send 3 if you're self-employed, but I opted to send 3 years of transcripts just because it was easy to get them and I figured more was better than less. I got my transcripts online and downloaded PDFs, easy peasy
