  1. We filed April 2019, did Biometrics in December. We did our interview yesterday, 7/13, and I received notice my spouse's greencard was approved today, 7/14.

One very odd thing was we received a rescheduled interview appointment from our field office in Cleveland a month ago (original was cancelled due to COVID), and the very next day the USCIS website said the interview was canceled. Someone else in one of the forums said they had a similar experience and just showed up for the scheduled interview, so we did, too.

On June 8th field office called my husband and rescheduled interview to June 15th and then 3 days later status online showed it was canceled. I called support center twice and the officer told me that she did find two different statuses. In their system my interview still scheduled and on online case tracker it says canceled. They said they escalated my case and I need to wait for tier 2 officer to call me back. Nobody ever called me back. So we just showed up at field office on the scheduled date. And it was never canceled. So there must be a glitch in online case tracker.

This happened to my spouse as well. April interview was cancelled, and we got a letter a couple weeks ago from our local immigration office saying we're scheduled for a mid-July interview. The very next day the USCIS website said our new appointment was cancelled. We're going to follow your example and just show up for the latest scheduled interview, since this seems to be a pattern for several folks.

hello everyone! I applied i-751 cr1 in Nebraska center sep 28 2019 and received receipt in October 2nd 2019 with the extension letter of my visa for 1 year and half. I still didn’t receive biometrics but I have hopes that soon (its about to be 2 months) . Seems to be that Nebraska is very fast compared to other service centers. Have anybody share the same timeline/ applied in those months? Thanks ! Wishing luck to everybody:))

We filed early this March, but didn't get a biometrics appointment until Sept 27th. That unfortunately got lost in the mail, so we had to call USCIS to get a copy of the appointment letter, which we needed since the Cleveland service center does not take walk-ins. The USCIS rep said biometrics appointments are typically sent about 90 days after receipt of the I751, but some have been going out later. Give USCIS a call if you're worried about your biometrics appointment, they can update you better than the website can.

Our filing was received on March 29th, and we haven't yet received a notice regarding biometrics. Should we be concerned, or is this pretty normal?

I called USCIS today, and they told me to call back first thing tomorrow. Apparently they're only allowed so many transfers a day to the department that handles biometrics. The Tier I agent couldn't look up our receipt number to get more information, which he said is a common issue. I also entered a service request online, but that said I'd receive a reply by Dec. 3rd. So back to the waiting game, lol.

  5. Same situation for my spouse and I, same sex marriage isn't recognized in his home country of the Philippines. I visited him several times, and we got to know each other over a year of FaceTime and in person visits. The K-1 visa process went pretty smoothly for us, both in the States and the Philippines. Check out the Caribbean forum here on VisaJourney http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/153-caribbean/. Good luck!

Arrived Friday night. Go through the NOTHING TO DECLARE line... no issues.

We brought a laptop, two smart phones and four tabets... plus other electronics.

TSA is the biggest PIA if you are bringing them in carry-on as they all have to be removed and put single layer in the trays Unless you sign-up for pre-screen online they you do the express line and don't have to do that krap

I too always go through the Nothing to Declare line. Nobody even looked my way the four times I've been there.

  8. Hello Ohio folks,

I just got notice that my spouse's AOS packet was accepted, and that the I-797 is in the mail. He needs to learn to drive, and the Ohio BMV is pretty vague about what he needs to get an actual license. I've seen a few posts where a BMV branch has given hassles, yet some will grant a license with the I-797 and no problems. Does anyone have their own experience to share?

    Thank You,

    -Adam

Let me tell you a little bit about the Phillipines. It is a third world country where money talks. Your lawyer is just entertaining you for money, just like your ex. There is no real justice system in the Philippines. Justice comes to those with money, and your lawyer knows this. Your ex is poor and your lawyer knows she would not be making money off her, so she will milk you for as much as she possibly can until you:

    A. Give up

    B. Drain your bank account and can no longer pay for her "services."

This will be the real scenario after all your money went to your lawyer in Manila. Your ex attempts to get on a plane and they stop her. Minutes later, she calls her new fiance to simply wire her 5000P (about $110 USD) to pay off security, and off she'll go to America.

Don't believe me? I'll tell you a personal story that happened just this year. My wife and I visited the Philippines in March. She was using her AP to return home. Security stopped her and looked at her card and her marriage certificate. They "acted" like they never saw a EAD/AP combo card. They told her "We are sorry, but we don't know if this card is legitimately an advanced parole paper. But if you were to pay a "travel fee," we can let you pass." Basically this travel fee was a $50.00 USD bribe.

Was this wrong? Could I have made an issue of it, knowing it was basically a bribe? Maybe call the local police? Sure. But it [paying the bribe] was far less expensive than missing our flight and risking my wife not leaving the Philippines.

So my thoughts to you would be, save your money, she isn't worth the hassle. Is she a bad person getting away with $500.00 of your money? Yes. So why invest more in her? You'll only lose more money you do not have on a person who could care less. Save the money you would spend on that lawyer for your new love. She is most likely more deserving and cares about your well being.

    Was this at NAIA?

  10. I bought tickets for Delta for my fiance and I to fly to the US, and the taxes and terminal fees were included. General consensus seems to be tax/fee inclusion depends on the airline. Check your itemized receipt to be sure.

  11. Haha, yes, I've been flying to see Karl about every 3 months since we first met last August. Each parting has been a little less sad knowing we were getting closer to being together for good.

I was very hesitant to invest much more than simple chat with Karl at first, he was half a world away! What kind of crazy person gets involved with someone so far away?! But now we're crazy for each other and soon to be married :-D I never thought in my wildest dreams I'd find the love of my life in another country.

I'm sure everything will go well for Noom with his paperwork and interview. I was so stressed about the visa process with Karl and everything went so well. The embassy consuls are looking for any signs of illegitimacy, but they know love when they see it. Noom will do just fine and you'll be together soon. Much happiness to you both!

  12. We're doing a very small and simple ceremony, a good friend of mine is going to officiate. Then we'll have a gathering at our house a few days later with our family and friends in the States.

I have been pleasantly surprised every step of the way during this whole process. Karl has had nothing but positive experiences in the Philippines, and everything has gone so smoothly. As religious as the Philippines is, Karl has had nothing but well wishes and genuine happiness from everyone he's met in the visa process, knowing he's in a same-sex relationship.

David, how did you and Noom get introduced? Karl "woofed" me on the Scruff app.
