Congrats!
Congrats!!
Thanks ??
I hope everyone else moves quickly through the process! Its very frustrating! I don't expect the GC side of things to move this quickly for me as I am in NYC city field office which is taking quite a while, but at least I can start working!!!!

Hi Fellow September filers!
Just an update... I received email notification yesterday for my EAD for myself and my son (K2) nothing about AP but I'm gonna just assume it's a combo card as there seems to be a trend for the systems not updating everything together?!?!?
My NOA1 for AOS/EAD/AP was sept 2nd!!! Yayyyyy!!! Seems that things are moving quicker than anticipated! Good luck to everyone with their journeys! Have a great weekend! ?

So I went against the grain here and booked on the day of my approved interview, literally after I left the embassy in London I sat in the bar at the hotel and booked, I also handed in my 4 weeks notice at work the same day so I was allowing myself 5 weeks before travel delivery of visa on average in U.K. is 7-10 days!!! (There's actually a thread for this although my name and a few others from June have appeared to have dropped of In the copy and paste process.. pfffftttt)
That said you can never be 100% sure until you have your visa in hand so it's all on you ;-)
Good luck with your journey xx

I believe it varies by country because a good friend of mines hubby was put on a 3 month ban (UK) for a positive drug test because he admitted to occasional use of weed, they had him do 3 random tests in the 3 month period and then he was good to go, the point I'm making is you need to verify the requirements of the 1 year ban because I expect he will have to undertake quarterly drug tests for a yearly ban??... please check this because as I said processes are different in each country! Good luck, I know it's tough, but you will get through this
I just read what lioness wrote... ? Real smart move doing your own tests!!!

yea seem unhappy with their jobs lol. My husband and I were just trying to do my biometrics early because I been feeling sick these past few days due to my pregnancy. I just hope I will be ok on the day of my biometrics to avoid delays.
Oh yayyyy to your pregnancy! ?Congratulations, how exciting I hope you feel well on your appointment day! Just let them know if you feel unwell and they should let you jump the line! There was a woman who was sick when I was there and they pushed her to the front! Also I guy on crutches was pushed forward! It's worth a try!
I got there only half an hour before my slot - but someone there tried to get in 3 hours early and they were turned away and told to come back closer to the time of the appointment
There was a guy with a 3pm appointment in line with me at 8:40am they turned him away until it was closer to his appointment! Gotta appreciate an opportunist!!!
-
Yes, lots of people I was surprised. The manager was rude too, i mean she could say it nicely that I can't do it.
Lol good old Brooklyn customer service!!!! honestly I still cannot get used to how rude some people can be! My husband finds it amusing how mad I get but I am British and we say please and thank you for everything we even apologise when it's not our fault! Lol
It might be worth waiting for your official appointment, your application is still processing, I don't think getting your biometrics done before your scheduled appointment speeds anything up or slows it down! :-)
-
I was there earlier trying to do walk-in. They didn't let me cuz so many people lol. Did you go there early or you arrived at the time of your appointment?
I had my bios done at Brooklyn office a little over a week ago, it's one of the busiest and apparently really difficult to get a walk in, so I just stuck to my appointment, it was at 9am and I got there for 8:40am there were already people arriving for 10am & 11am appointments and they were advised to sit in the waiting area until it was closer to their appointment time then they would be called to line up where you hand in your appointment letter and ID before being sent to the bio area! Can you imagine the number of people that must process through that office a day??
Hope everyone has a good weekend!
-
Tried an early walk in but was unsuccessful. Apparently the Brooklyn office is booked to capacity every day for the next few weeks so the manager was super kind and just said there was no point in coming back and forth because the chance of going in is so slim. So guess lll wait for next Friday
Went to Brooklyn for mine and my sons biometrics today and I can see why it's hard to get walk ins!!! Our appointment was at 9am and they had ppl waiting for 10am and 11am slots in the waiting area! I get the impression it's non stop all day there! Relatively quick and really easy though, staff were pleasant too! Bonus! Just thought I'd let you know! ?

It is my understanding that....
I-864 Must be filled out by the spouse as they are the primary sponsor even if the income is below the poverty guidelines or even nil, if you have a joint sponsor they fill out a separate I-864. It is also my understanding that you must send in all pages of the forms even if there are blank pages
If you get a RFE this will usually delay your EAD/AP for the amount of time it takes for you to send in the necessary information as requested.
There are always exceptions to the rule, I imagine this is down to processing times, which field office, who picks up the file?!
In other news..... I am not very good at not being able to work! BOREDDDDDD!!!!!!!!

Well I have been researching the process as well I don't know why I had the idea that he wouldn't be called for bio.
It's easy to miss stuff! Also the bio fee is waived when the K2 files at the same time as K1 if you file separately the bio fee becomes payable! There's quite a few if's and but's with the process. That info is on the USCIS website I always check with the instructions as well as the guides on here! I found the K2 part confusing at times as it's not as well documented
-
Okay looked around and you may be right. When did they start that they haven't always done that?
(A child under 14 can get interviewed though)
Glad you looked around I don't tend to post something unless I'm sure of it, I also have a K2 under 14 so it's been integral to my research whilst going through K1 and AOS that I was aware of the process!
It's unusual for a child under 14 to be interviewed I expect this would be in exceptional circumstances!
?
-
Kids have to do biometrics they just don't interview or sign under the age of 14 that's all!!! I'm going to have to take my bundle of pleasure and joy out of school too!!

Hello everybody
Thought I'd join this thread as it's closer than any others. I filed for my AOS at the end of August, still waiting for biometrics appointment at the moment and figured this would be a good way to see how close everyone's timelines are in relation to mine.
Good luck.
Slimboooo did you honestly think you could join this thread and not bring me with you? I am like your immigrant shadow!!!
Hi to the rest of the thread I filed at the end of August but my notice date is the 2nd! I'm also waiting on a biometrics appointment for myself and my son!
-
We just sent in the copy of the DS-3205 and had no problems. We made front and back copies, and he was marked as completed for all his vaccinations, so he didn't have any due (they gave him a booster at his medical), but yes, go ahead and send a copy of the DS-3205.
Awhhh thanks Ash, this thread has definitely put my mind at rest!!! I think sometimes a bit of reassurance goes a long way!
-
Thanks for your replies Guys!!! I Appreciate any input in this process, I'm usually quite competent when it comes to forms and paperwork but this whole process makes me question and second guess everything!!!
I think I'm going to send in my DS-3025 and forgo the I-693! I read the guide tips for the AOS from K-1 and it kinda threw me!!!
Good luck on your journeys!!!!!
Xx

If you haven't already, suggest that you read the excellent pinned thread at the top of this forum page: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/551080-immunizations-ds-3025-or-i-693/ .
And a point of clarification: Is is Form DS-3025.
Lol thanks pitaya.... In my head I knew what I meant! So many forms so many numbers!
Thanks for the links, I read so many posts I think I confused myself and just wanted clarification!!
-
Just looking for a bit of clarification, I am compiling my AOS from k-1/k-2. Do I really need a civil surgeon to verify my immunisations that were completed for the k-1 at my medical? There appears to be a fair amount of contradictory information out there! Thanks in advance!!

Now back to checking CEAC constantly for updates... it never ends...
Ermmm can you not! I've checked now because you have!! Still says ready!
So do you resemble the walking dead today like me? I'm all on not to dribble on myself I'm that tired!
-
Hello fellow UK filers! I just found this thread. I'm the petitioner (female), currently in NYC, my fiance is in Bristol. Just got our NOA2 last week, going to give it a couple weeks before starting NVC calls. Good luck everyone
Welcome welcome!!! The UK process recently got a lot slicker when it comes to booking medical and interview!! Good luck on your journey!
-
So glad you were all approved. I missed you Tricked, I was down yesterday lol. now counting down the days until my interview while emptying my empty looking apartment some more. It's going to be very empty after tomorrow as a lot of my furniture is going. Congrats to all the approvals
Whoop shout out to AMZJ for joining myself n slimbolina for the practice run to the embassy from the hotel! Shame we took yet a different route again today! *palm plants forehead*
Tricked: unlucky on the flight delay! ? All done now tho eh!
-
Thanks Kat&Jon and Shana!! ? Haven't stopped smiling yet!
It made the waiting room process marginally less nerve wracking having tricked and slimbolina there! Although holding a conversation when every time the board pings up a new number everyone looks up at the screen was quite distracting!
Good luck to everyone still waiting to get to this stage of their journey and Booyah to all the UK filers who are post interview and already in the states or on the countdown to being there!
-
Approved!
Review to follow at some point.
Approved!! Sat with tricked and slimbo having a celebratory beverage!!! Yayyyyy!!!! It was like a like a VJ reunion in the embassy waiting room! ???

Just to chip in.... I also got text messages early this morning about my case went to log into myuscis and it said my account was locked, I had to change my password and then when I finally did get in there was no changes...it was just the same as my email notification that I received last Friday 10/28 for EAD/AP approval! Guess they're working out the glitches in the system! I got all overly excited that they'd possibly despatched my combo card!
