    hi there!

    the tourist visa indeed.

the other options: K1, CR1 etc all require a way bigger commitment: getting engaged then married within 90 days, being married already.  For what you need a tourist VISA is the way to go, but the thing is you can't request or influence/help her application, she has to show strong ties to her country and go through the process on her own. There's plenty information online, but the consensus seems to be you need documents that support that she is financially stable  in her country of origin (work letter, money in the bank, receipts) that she has assets (car, house) a clear propose of using the visa for tourism and a clear intention to come back. She will have to be completely honest in the interview. It usually takes a few months and every embassy is different :) it's usually 160-200 bucks last time I checked. But like I said, you guys should investigate what is the process for Morocco. Good luck!

love the quote you attached <3

  2. well i dont like to give bad news but i agree with all the comments you have already received. my husband who lives in morocco applied for a visa to visit his dying sister in another country (not the us) along with his mother and they both were denied. i have learned that you need a lot of money in the bank (as others have stated) to get a visa there and that is why we have to be sponsors or they need a sponsor. his sister had to go to them in which she did. i also talked to an immigration attorney.  he stated that the embassy in morocco takes marriages more serious than engagements. although, i have seen on this site a few fiancee visas being approved, i didnt want to take the chance. the attorney said this....after you hire me we will try for the fiancee visa, if that gets denied then i will advise you to go to his country and get married and then we will apply for the spouse visa because they take it more serious. so to prevent all this, we felt it would be better to marry in morocco and apply for the visa without all the waiting game and having so much hope that the embassy will show us mercy. i have gone to see him three times so far in three years. we have done all this without an attorney. i can see the benefits of why to hire one now but it is too late as we are only a couple days away from his interview. what you could do if you want to marry her at some point, go marry her and get her a flight that is round trip for her first visit. i did feel culture shock there and i have no doubt my husband will feel the same when he arrives, Jah willing. the second year i went to him i felt more comfortable and i think it is fair to say that the first year will be hard to adjust. by the third trip i felt like i could blend in easily enough. i hope this helps.

  3. the areas we stayed in and where my husband lives is very pleasant, which is 4 hours drive from cassablanca.... the people in his city are very nice and welcoming for the most part....we drove around in rabat and cassablanca trying to find both the embassy and the police station and when my husband would ask people for directions in arabic from the car window: the people of cassablanca would keep walking and ignore us as if we didnt exist....in rabat everyone gave us directions that did not lead to our destination...we were feeling that we were not welcome in those places....

cassablanca as you know is very large and we are lucky we found it in such a way....we went without a map...nor any gps system....we just took a random exit and kept driving around...it was chaotic as i said the whole process...we both can laugh now about it but nothing was funny about it then at the time.

and no offense to morocco but compared to the streets in america...even the beaches...america is cleaner due to the fact we have lots of government jobs to mandate that. i do appreciate seeing and experiencing another culture..there is lots to love and dislike about all cultures..

    Hi Mostofa & Tracey

It seems like it still is a steady 2 1sh weeks to get married in Morocco, if all goes smoothly....which is how it was back when we did it.....BUT

For New Members to VJ your post might be more confusing than helpful....

You married then applied for k1?

Where is this Visa Center that takes marriages more seriously? The Consulate? CASA?

BTW profile states you filed for the K3.

Just making things little clear for Newer members seeking correct info.

    hi Inluv,

Well Morocco is a very big place...it can vary im sure depending on where in Morocco a couple wishes to marry..things were not that smooth for us and it took 2.5 weeks...as we were told by our Inman it would be done in 1 day after I arrived and I had to reschedule all of my travel plans inorder for us to marry....so 2.5 was in chaos and also not being organized and not knowing where we had to go....the people in cassablanca are not helpful and seem to dislike foreigners even if one speaks arabic and is from morocco...yes, we married then applied for the k3....the fiancee visa because i discovered it was a quicker process...i made one mistake on the forms by not checking a box and this mistake caused that paper work to slow down....and the I-130 that was submitted had begun to process as a spouse visa...voiding out the k3....it became a CR1 by NVC...i did type in the correct information on this site when i joined the page...as i didnt have the k3 denied at that time...i just recently tried to change the K3 to a CR1 but i see by your comment it failed to update...not many know of the K3 option...i came across it by mistake one day when i was inquiring of marry by proxy here in the states...it was typed in very small letters on the bottom of the attorneys website that offered this service....he used that information to make this option more appealing - to marry by proxy and then bring your spouse to you within 6 months...it can happen...i just made a careless mistake to ruin it..but we choice to marry in morocco (as they really do not consider marry by proxy as a real marriage) and then file for the k3.. hoping our chances would be even better to be together sooner....i came on here and discussed it in the early days and didnt find any support because of lack of knowledge. i will try to come on and put in my dates as soon as i gather all my paper work together...peace.

The "scan date" is the date that NVC receives your supporting documents.  For example, if you send your documents on February 1 via FedEx and FedEx tracking shows NVC received it on February 3, but NVC enters it into their system that they received it on February 6 = scan date is February 6 and this is the date when the clock starts ticking.  Currently, NVC is taking about 10-12 weeks since your scan date to review documents.

thank you for explaining that. :)

  6. we got married in morocco in 2015 and it took about 2.5 weeks to complete. the reason why we went that route is because an immigration attorney convinced me that the Visa Center takes marriages more seriously than engagements. we did get married then applied for the K1, it only got denied because I didn't check a box on the form I sent which slowed down the process. when the I-130 is sent it automatically starts processing for a spouse visa. because i slowed down the K1 with my error, the 1-130 voided out the K1. It is possible to marry and start the paperwork for the K1. Just make sure you check it very thoroughly before you send out. If you make any mistake....it will cost you 6 months of time or longer to be away from your loved one..i went back to him to celebrate our wedding anniversary.  our long wait on NVC was also delayed because of the holiday season. november and december are slow months at NVC for getting work done at a reasonable time.

If the option to request a SS# was not put on your application, you can still request one later. You just have to go to the Social Security Administration to request one. The DS-260 just has a section where you can request one to save time.

ok, now i know why i didnt see that, my husband filled out the ds-260. i hope he did request that. thank you for valuable information.

CR1 visa. When you fill out the visa application in CEAC, you choose if you want to have a SS number assigned.  This saves you the trip to the SS office after your spouse enters the US.

i never did fill out that application as we were applying for the K3 visa...NVC denied it and we proceeded with the CR1 without any forms filled out by either of us. i hope this was chosen for him. what is CEAC?

yes, one of our members was gratnted visa from casa and then it was revoked

and marked as so, on the passport / BTW only thing they said was they did not believe she had been there on last visit and she has sent them passport stamp page and photos

make sure you have visa in hand

now, he will know the day of interview if approved/ he will be told and asked to hand in his passport

takes about 2 weeks to process this

if they ask for additional documents may take a longer

    incha allah

    allah yessir

    jeanne

    chukran Jeanne,

i feel badly for the woman who had that happen. they can not say i was not there as we got married in morocco. have the marriage certificate to prove it. i have been there three times so far. i will be patient and trust your advice.

I'm happy to report that my husband entered the US on Monday February 13th at the Fort Lauderdale airport. They did not ask him ant questions, just took the visa package and looked at his passport. They stamped his entrance and that was it. Tomorrow he will be 2 weeks in US. We received his Social Security Card last Saturday.

We are very happy....just waiting for that Green Card to arrive.

    Good luck everyone!

awwww so happy for you...congratulations!!!! wish you lots of years in sweet love..til death.. one question... i didnt even think about that....how do you get a SS Card? he had to apply? do you have a CR1 Visa? your good news made me cry.

  11. thank you for the thread...it is so good to finally be here....we got married in september of 2015...started applying for a visa (k3) in november of 2015....they denied the k3 to grant a CR1.....nvc kept requesting a police report...after sending it for the fourth time only with the thought of waiting another month for processing....i called and spoke to a supervisor....they seem to be confused as to what a police report and a court report is....the last submission we did send a court report even though the directions said if you are over 18 years old go to the police...the supervisor stated that it was the necessary police report that was requested....needless to say....the supervisor...expedited the case and we have an interview very soon...to prevent something like this to happen you are better off just sending everything...if they ask for only a police report give both the police report and court record...if they ask for just tax transcripts give everything you have that involves your taxes....if they ask for a birth certificate or a passport give both, ect. ect. that leaves for nothing else they can ask...this is what i have learned through this entire ordeal...this cost us lots of valuable time in which we could have spent together...i do hope and pray he can be here so soon...i hope you also can be with the one you love... God Bless.

  12. Hi Everyone,

My husband has his interview soon at the US Embassy in Cassablanca. What has been your experience with how soon you know that you are granted a visa and about how long does it take to receive it? I want to make travel plans despite the advice of the Embassy Webpage because the price of the ticket is cheaper booking in advance. I thought it would be save to add 20 days to his interview date. What do you advise?

  13. Hi  Petitioners and Beneficiaries,

My husband just received all his necessary vaccines to enter America. His muscles are very weak and he is very tired. How long will these side effects last typically? He has to travel in about two weeks for his interview. I have not visited this site in awhile therefore have not updated our information but needless to say we are in the last steps and we both are very excited. I do hope whomever is reading this can be with your love one so soon. God bless.
