  1. Hi guyz,

I need some urgent advice regarding my I-751 conditions to remove residence. My interview is coming up this week for I-751 and would like to reschedule due to some personal issues I'm dealing with. What will be a very tangible excuse to give to cancel the appointment??

Your opinions, advice and anyone with similar experiences are all welcomed to comment. Thank you

  2. Thanks a lot for detailed response. We didn't file I-865 form with I-751 petition to remove conditional residence. Only my spouse filed change of address form online because it wouldn't allow both our names. But we recently had an RFE which we submitted documents showing we both reside at same address. Also do you have the Congress office number or where can I get it? Looking forward to your response. Thanks

  3. Hello guys, I needed to ask a question and please feel free to give your inputs. I filed 1-751 petition jointly with my spouse to remove condition last year and we recently moved and I updated our address on USCIS website. Now we recieved a notice saying that our petition has been transferred to another USCIS office that now has jurisdiction over our case. Does anyone know why in particular cases are transferred?? Is it a good thing or there is something to worry about? Looking forward to your responses, thanks

You need to read the instructions for what to send with the I-751.  You need to send evidence from the beginning of your marriage.  So the last 3 months of bank statements is not going to cut it.

You should send as much of the following as you have:

Tax returns (3 years is better, if you have them)

Proof that you live together and have been living together (lease, mortgage, homeowners insurance, driver's licenses)

Proof that you bank together (bank and credit card statements from the start of your marriage)

Proof that you do life together (medical insurance, car insurance, joint credit cards, gym memberships, birth certificates of children, travel receipts)

Extra credit:  Proof that you have planned for the future together (wills, medical powers-of-attorney)

Good luck.  Do not skimp on evidence now.  Better over-prepared than having to wait on an RFE.

I did not send in anything that I had already submitted with the I-485 in 2015.

In summary, I sent the following:

    1. Tax return filed in 2016 (even though we filed separately)

    2. Tax return filed in 2017 (filed jointly)

    3. Home warranty contract

    4. Mortgage statements/deed and homeowner's insurance

    5. Car loan statements/registrations/insurances for two cars

    6. Personal property tax bills in both names

    7. Reservation confirmations and boarding passes for 6 vacation trips in 2016 and 2017

    8. A few pictures from our trips and our wedding and a printout of the online magazine it was published on (we had our wedding ceremony 15 months after the actual marriage date)

    9. Pet insurance for our two dogs with both our names

    10. Home improvement loan in both names

Submitted in July 2017, approved in June 2018.

    Thanks much

I sent in the minimum amount of documentation and was approved without an interview.

We don't share bank accounts and therefore there was no joint bank account to provide statements for. Not all married couples share finances so I don't believe this means anything. If you're worried about proving that you live together in the same household, maybe a contract for homeowner's insurance, or a personal property tax bill for your cars. I live in Virginia and have to pay assessed taxes on our cars EVERY year and the bills have both our names on it.

We have our own insurances through our employers and therefore are not sharing the same health insurance (this is expensive and would cost us $600 extra a month in premium so I would not do it just to prove our marriage is real).

We only had ONE tax return filing jointly, because other years we had more refunds filing separately. Again, I believe that if the marriage is real, you do what is best for your finances, not to prove anything to anyone.

We, however, have a lot of joint debt (haha) from our mortgage and two new cars that we bought right after the wedding, and we go on A LOT of long vacations (one trip every 2-3 months) and I keep all the boarding passes and cruise documentation with our names on it. I probably sent about 5 pictures with the package to backup the trips we took. One of them was actually our destination wedding picture being published in a wedding magazine.

They don't want or need too much. Quality over quantity.

Please what documents did you exactly submit? How long did it take for you to get approval

  7. Hi guys, My spouse and would be submitting the joint application for removing conditions of residency by the end of the month. I have a few questions;  what do you think meet the CRITERIA for strong supporting evidence that we have been together in good Faith?  We would be submitting our

    I. Joint tax returns for past two years  ii. Joint bank account statements In last 3months  iii. Health insurance card with spouse listed as beneficiary iv. 401k plan with spouse as beneficiary.  Do we have to submit photographs, we don't really have much of that and I'm not really a fan of taking photos.

Also what is the exact cost for filling and does it include biometric fees? Some say it $595 And others say $505. I need to buy the money order in correct amount.

Any suggestions or anything you think should be added would be much welcome. Awaiting your response

  8. Hello guys,

I'm filling the form I-485 to adjust status to permanent resident, in part 6 of the form it's says list all of children of any age, married or unmarried. Do i have to least my children who are adults and above 21 or just minor children below 18?

Also it asks if they are applying with me, since my spouse is going to petition for my children's who are minors but presently in my home country, do I tick a "YES" or a "NO because I'm the only one adjusting my status and my kids are still in my home country?

Part 8 question 17; if I have violated any immigration laws, does an overstay count as violation? What do I write as explanation in additional information part If I tick a yes.

Part 9; accommodation for individuals with disabilities. If I don't fall under that category do I tick a NO? or I should leave it blank since I'm not disabled.

Looking forward to your response, Thanks

    Hi,

If I have joint custody of my kids from previous marriage do I have to include it with divorce certificate? Would I in the future require my ex spouse to sign any documents of consent  before the I-130 petitioned for my kids by my present spouse be approved?

    1. current address is where you live presently and where you will receive all correspondence that i spouses address.

    2. Unemployed.

    3.Each person has a different petition/package.

Hi, thanks for your response. When you say "unemployed" in regards to my second do you mean for the most recent only? Because I have to provide for last ten 10yrs whether inside or outside United States. For number 3, do I have to mail packages the same time or it doesn't matter?

  11. Hi guys, I'm filling concurrently form 1-130 and I-485. I'm a visitor on a B2 Visa and I'm recently married to USC spouse. I have question? On Part 3 of form i-485 asking for address history in the last 5 years both inside and outside the United States and mentioning the current address first. Do I put in my spouse address where i currently live as current address or my home country address? My last entry into the US was on the 11th Nov.

    2. In the section for work history do I put unemployed since I don't work in the United States but I own and run a company back in my home country ? Or i should mention it as my current employment? Does it count as a negative ?

    3. My spouse wants to petition for my kids under 18, do I file and submit my kids petition separately or I can submit them together but in different package?

Looking forward to your response, thanks.

  12. hi guys, I'm a visitor on a B2 visa married to a US CITIZEN spouse and filing the  i-485 form. On the part 3 of the form where it says '"ADDRESS HISTORY" asking to provide all physical addresses i have lived during the last 5 years, should my current address be the present one I'm living right now in united states or my physical address in my my home country? Also i don't know what date to put from when to when because i have been travelling in and out of the united states to spend time with my spouse and my last entry was in November which is last month and since I'm adjusting my status I don't intend going back soon. Do I put in my last entry into the united states  which was last month as the time i started living in my US address till present, since I wouldn't be going back or i should fill in the very first time I entered the country till date?

Also for employment history in part 3. do i put in my job in my home country since my business is still running even if I am not present or does it apply to Jobs only in the united states?  If I state it, for the duration of employment do I put the time my business was established to the time before living the country or I should leave it as Current since I'm still running the business?  Does having a business back home and still managing it affect my application in any way?     PLEASE!!! I NEED ANSWERS would appreciate your responses, Thanks

  13. Hey Guys My spouse and I attended our AOS interview last two months and it went smoothly, the officer was in a hurry to go on a break. since then I have been expecting status update online, finally my online status changed to "new card is being produced" going further to say "we ordered your new card for your receipt number and will mail it to the address you gave us." Does that mean my card has been approved? has anyone receieved similar status update after an AOS iNTERVIEW? your responses would be much appreciated.

  14. Hi guys, Is it possible to go without my spouse(USC) to the adjustment of status interview? My Interview has been scheduled for next month and my spouse happens to be travelling out of town 2days before the interview date on an important Job assignment to return 3 days after of which might not be able to make it there with me on time. Do I go without my spouse, reschedule another interview? or what else can be done? I would appreciate your suggestions, thanks

  15. Hey Guys, please I need your advice. Does one need a valid passport to attend AOS interview? my wife's(f-1 student) international passport will be expiring in few weeks and we expecting her interview to be scheduled around the same period. do we go head go ahead to apply for passport renewal or we should wait for the interview and go take the passport along even if it expires before the interview date? would appreciate your advice. Thanks
