  1. Excited to see this thread, yet soo disappointed with USCIS updates lately. I’m from one of the countries on partial ban in the December declaration. I’m eligible and ready to file but not sure if to wait it out or take the plunge. I’m a VAWA recipient filing under the 3-year rule, and remarried to a U.S. citizen. I’ll wait till months end to see how it plays out before applying. Not sure if I wanna wait till 5 years to make it easier. Good luck to all January applicants.
  2. Problem no dey finish For those of us from the list of newly-added partial ban, those it impact naturalization? People from the initial list have been taken out of oath ceremonies and had their interviews cancelled. Im wondering if the partial ban would be managed differently. My fear is applying and my application getting stuck in ‘a decision cannot be made’ bla bla bla
  3. Congrats!!!! Feels great to see the end of this journey and beginning of a new chapter 🎉🍾

  5. It's been so long (almost 10 years since my first application), but I think i filed again 2 years later due to financial reasons, document gathering, etc. I was unprepared with my first submission with the attorney so i took my time to research the process in its entirety, read multiple denial cases and write a solid declaration that covered those gaps (20-pages), and thankfully got approved on my own without any legal help. I must say that my approval took approx. 4+ years the second time. I even sought help from my congressman in Oregon for assistance and sent additional good moral character letters from new people I met along the way.
  6. That's great to hear. I came across comments in other forums advising people to wait till 5years to avoid interrogation, but I think the sooner anyone can get citizenship, the better cos policies are changing way too fast these days.
  7. Hello ALL, it's been years since I last posted with this account after my initial petition was denied. I was able to appeal the denial and it was approved in 2022. Whew!!! Anyways, I'm ready to file for citizenship and wondering how citizenship applications via VAWA would be treated in this current administration. Has anyone successfully naturalized recently since Trump took office? My initial VAWA peition was denied with a lawyer and approved when i filed myself smh!! With this new administration, I'll definitely pay a lawyer cos anything can happen these days. I know people currently self-deported or sitting in ICE detention centers due to pending immigration cases.
