My girl just received packet 3 and I have read that only the following items get mailed back;

DS-160 Cover sheet

App of Readiness form filled out and signed

and her CENOMAR (which she has the original in hand)

now does the checklist go too? I say No she will bring it to the interview? Instructions are kinda grey on this .

You picked out 20 pages to include when you submit your application or you talking about the interview ?

We primarily used Viber and Voxer not too much Skype chat just video but printed about 25 text pages (dates and time stamps) from the beginning of our relationship and the last 25 or so of out latest Viber chats everything in between no big deal I'm sure the CO will get the gist of how serious we are with 50 or so pages of chat. Just be ready with everything and give them no excuses to delay you.

Just a suggestion for everyone, As we are in the final stages of this crazy process and awaiting packet 3 and I can't reiterate on having enough copies available of everything, petition, photos, chat logs etc I just sent out my package to Joan and it was so very easy and did not have to gather anything to send out ASAP, I was ready and had an exact duplicate to send of everything I have going through the system. And just double- triple check everythingggggg and be as meticulous as possible like your dealing with a 5 year old except its the US government , haha ! seriously I did it and our case has be extremely smooth and fast to this point CYA as you go on an don't give them any excuses to delay you. I called in to NVC to see if they received my case thinking no way too early and surprise they just got it yesterday, received NOA2 hard copy on the 27th and NVC got my case on 2/4 ....7 business days .

Congrats! 38 days today from NOA1 and patiently waiting!!! Most likely receiving a RFE. Misinterpreted some info and didn't send enough evidence of going relationship. Hopefully they see my passport stands and see I have been traveling to see my fiancé in the past years! Fingers crossed and get an approval instead of RFE but I am ready for them.. Bring it on CSC ?!!!!

Thank you so much , yea its crazy the process I would assume some agents are more meticulous then others when verifying the petitions and I would believe it could be a stroke of luck sometimes in getting one individual that is more lenient on information but I'm sure since the SB incident they are all checked more closely, Just hang in there I was 41 days , you'll get it done I'm sure.....

Just got the text we've been waiting for.....We are approved !!!!!! Finally !!! Seems NOA2's come in the evening as someone here stated earlier in the week, text arrived at 8:15 PST....Here we go on to the next step.....Patience, patience and good luck to all of you its coming soon.....

Question for all of ya......When the time comes my girl will have her interview in her home country Hong Kong and receive her visa there, since she is Filipina we agreed she should return home first to the Philippines and take care of some loose ends also visit with family and friends for a bit before utilizing her visa to Los Angeles direct from the Philippines if possible, Does it matter or does she need to return back to Hong Kong before departing to LA?

Yea I agree the language barrier is the biggest red flag, its hard enough using all these apps , viber, voxer, line etc with the very bad quality communicating sometimes with each other and we both speak English very fluently so to have to use a Google translator must be extremely difficult. But you know what if you both got it in you for this long journey then go for it, never let anyone tell you it cant be done just be extremely detailed and have an arsenal of proof your relationship is legit. Hate to say it- but you might get an RFE and delay here unless you also sent in a copy of your birth certificate as the instructions leave little room for interpretation on the "five year validity".

Renewing an unexpired passport isn't anything unusual. I just went to the passport office with the renewal form/pictures, paid the passport fee, and waited about two weeks before receiving the new passport. They don't take your old passport during that two week period so you can still travel internationally if you want. When you get your new passport, however, they do "invalidate" your old one by punching holes in the ID page.

Make sure that when you send in the copy of your passport, you send in a copy of EVERY single page (including cover, info pages). I've heard of people getting and RFE because they only sent in a copy of the ID page.

Yea I did send in every sheet of my passport including front cover and back....I will just go ahead and renew my passport and although I was instructed to either use one or the other Passport or B/C ...but great thanks for your advice and I will get it in since I just started in the NOA1 stage.

Oh I understand but my fiancé is coming from Hong Kong and she is good to go with her passport, I'm the petitioner and referring to my own US passport that will expire in August , will it cause a delay from my side in the overall process?

Are you using your US passport to prove that you are a USA citizen?

If you look at the instructions for the 129-F, under the requirements it says:

"In place of any of the above, you may submit a copy of your valid, unexpired U.S. passport issued with a validity period of at least 5 years. You must submit copies of all pages in the passport."

For me, I live overseas with my fiancee and did not have my birth certificate on hand so I had to use the passport. I had to renew the passport at the Shanghai consulate and wait until I had the new passport in hand before I mailed in my 129-F.

Yes I used my passport to validate my citizenship and submitted all my copies in the package and now its in the NOA1 stage at CSC , I guess then I should try and renew asap since it expires next year in August and should explain to USCIS why I'm trying to renew an unexpired passport.

Hi Friends.

Just realized my US passport will expire in August of 2016 and I believe the parameters for the K-1 process requirements is that my passport needs 6 months validity? , I just received the NOA1 forwarded to CSC, So based on timeframes and history of the process is there a need to renew now and how could I even try at the moment because obviously the passport is still valid at the moment. Don't want something so simple to add another 4 or 5 weeks.....Hopefully I'm golden in this matter.

_{There is no way that bill would pass it impedes on us as US citizens to have the freedom to marry who we want and imagine the monumental tasks of the claims in refunding monies to all of us that put into our effort here, filing fees legal fees , preparers, etc, don't blame the game, blame the player ! She had a hidden agenda and someone just dropped the ball along the way of that woman's process and probably took shortcuts they shouldn't and got burned by it , we lost some great human beings in SB because of it. If anything its the VWP program that should be more scrutinized. I want this country secure and protected as anyone but a knee jerk reaction and trying introduce a bill to do away with the K-1 is a waste of time and effort , if anything implement a social media verification, I have no problem with that because if you are legit and have nothing to hide then your golden and shouldn't worry because if your posting on Facebook and twitter, etc then its fair game and if our Govt. wants to take a closer at who you are, oh well.
