Congrats! things are moving fast now a days. Good luck to all of you.
Thanks. We have to reschedule though because my father in-law passed and my wife is in Vietnam taking care of that. We’ll see how badly rescheduling screws up the timeline.

Expected this to take much longer but my wife got an interview for January 26th.

Filed today. Found the online process to be super simple and now the rest of the process is out of my hands. A lot less stressful than filing the 129 six-years ago.
-
Exactly. Everything you need is right here. I was on here for months before filing and the whole process even with the “dreaded” HCMC consulate has been a breeze.

Status changed to "New Card Is Being Produced" today (Nebraska Service Center/LIN). No interview at all. See y'all in the N-400 chat!
Checked the mail today and the GC was there. Had no idea it was coming. No interview.

When they sent you the letter saying they would use your previous fingerprints it also said they would not refund the fee. I received the same letter.

they should do both in those 90 days since they are deportable and stuck until the aos is filled.
Generally you should I agree. However, this poster is concerned, because she only has 7 days until the 90 mark. If it takes her a week or two longer it's not really an issue, especially considering people have gone years without being deported.
-
One of the problems with AOS is people assume that they both have to marry and file AOS within 90 days of entering the country.

And the journey has only begun...

My fiance landed in Chicago last night at 9pm,she said the border patrol/customs people were very nice to her. We spent the night in Chicago and we are back home today. She got to see snow for the first time on the way home but she is not at all fond of the cold weather
Awesome that's good to hear. My fiancée is also flying into Chicago. She thinks she's excited to see snow and looks forward to the cold weather. I don't think she's going to be too excited when the reality of what real cold is like

My mother received her visa yesterday and on visa the format appears like vietnamese customs format <middle> `<first> eventhough I wrote on DS-160 as <first> <middle>.
My fiancée got her visa yesterday and it was also middle name then first.

One more update about the AP situation. It already changed to issued, so clearly some premature worrying. The process for us has gone so smoothly and much faster than anticipated. I've thought about all the horror stories you read on here had finally caught up to me.

Hey all,
Fiance interview was today, visa approved pending medical. Medical was done 1 month ago, but of course it hasn't made it to the embassy yet, smh. He said they asked him about 3-5 questions (he was nervous so he can't quite remember). For those who will read this in the future, don't worry if your name is spelled wrong on NOA1 or NOA2, my fiance name was spelled incorrectly on both and it didn't matter at the interview. Just make sure name is spelled correctly on visa application. Good luck everyone!!!
Congratulations.

Thanks for the reply. I should've used the search function first. It does seem everyone gets put to AP for a time. Her panic turned into my panic lol.

Hello fellow October filers,
I'm just checking in. We saw a lot of quick progress between December and January, I had my medical exam as soon as possible after I received my interview date...and now I wait for the 28th February. The wait seems to be so much longer than waiting for the NOAs (especially when you are a grad student and work from home/procrastinate daily!) ...but at least it gives me time to get all of my affairs in order.
Any good news from anyone? Any interviews passed? Anyone got any tips on the interview, what more/less to take with to the interview, etc etc?
My fiancée is at her interview now. Will update soon.

Hi LostRonin, are K-1's in Thailand scheduled on-line as well?
You might consider calling them to ask for an earlier interview slot.
I've seen this happen in Manila many times.
If you are planning to be there with her for the interview you could ad that to your reason but they still might schedule outside of what it shows available on-line.
Worth a shot unless you don't mind March.
Jim
I'm Vietnam, not sure about Thailand, but they are online in Vietnam. She just checked again and now it's showing dates available in February. I told her to just keep checking to see if even earlier dates pop up lol.

I attended an annual event at a friend's place over the weekend. One of his wife's friends brought her boyfriend. He was a fellow vet, so we struck up a conversation, during which he told me that he works for immigration. He stated one of the things that has gotten them behind is a change in form (I don't remember details). He also said they have authorized a bunch of overtime recently.

Off to Vietnam it goes.
Congrats.
Do you speak any Vietnamese ?
JIm
Actually I was heading there in 12 days anyway to celebrate Tet. I only speak a bit of Vietnamese (mostly involving food) but her mom loves it when I say; "Me oi, lai day!"

I love it. You can use the corruption to your advantage, and until I'm negatively affected by it, I will continue to enjoy it.

Just found out my petition left NVC yesterday.
