  1. I couldn't sleep all night thinking about this return label I was supposed to include with my documents. I don't know if it required but I sent it at my expense without it, and wonder if consulate would generate a return label for my passport once it's ready...should I go to Canada post and ask them to create one ?

I think the consulate generates a return label once the passport is ready. So i wouldn't worry too much:)

I sent my stuff in five days before they switched from loomis to CPC, and i haven't been notified to send anything via canada post to generate a return label.

  2. I was just curious to know when any of you submitted the new documents and had to include the mail authorization certificate that has the bar code. Did that sheet with the bar code start with 2009 for any of you? Or was it some other number please share.

I don't have the one from loomis unfortunately. I only printed out one copy and sent it with the package.

My new Canada post one (that i don't need and haven't used) starts with 2010... if this helps.

  3. No update, checked 3x times..looks like i am getting less obsess and another day gone by...

Question, Would asking the congressman/senator to assist, hurt my chances of not getting immigrant visa? how does it work?

i am curious about this too!

although i don't think they can do much... I have only been waiting 16 business days and you 8? i have a feeling they wouldn't get too much involved at this point.

  4. When the switched happened they did automatically switched me to Markham CPC, but yesterday when I logged in it gave me the option to pick the closest to me and so I switched to the downtown one. But I hope they are working on my case. If they really are you will be next?.

just curious, did your status update date change last tuesday as well?

mine seems to be every wednesday, without being triggered by anything i do (emails, etc.)

the consulate received your documents on the 24th right? which was a tuesday. i'm trying to figure out any patterns lol!

  5. Does changing the courier selection on Dos website trigger the date to update on ceac. Just curious because I selected the nearest CPC to me yesterday night and today my date on ceac changed to today's date but still under AP.

I'm not sure. They assigned me to the closest CPC location when they made the switch so I didn't need to change anything.

It could have triggered the update, althought maybe not. Perhaps they are working on your case today! :joy:

  6. By the way, has anyone email from the consulate inquiry/respond after receiving your additional documents that:

" We ask that applicants allow for 8 weeks of processing time from the day we receive the documents at post"

yes, this is their generic response. at least someone replied to me this time lol.

  7. Ugh yeah, at least its ALMOST over!! That makes sense though about them registering it on the 11th.

Yeah i got it in 24 hours because the guy who interviewed me said id have to go home and get it and then mail it back and i was like oh no i cant wait that long and asked if it would be okay for me to try and get it and bring it back before my flight to Vancouver, so he booked me another appointment on the 9th. He looked at me a little crazy when i suggested this but it worked!

    It says:

    U.S. Department of State

    IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
    Ready

oh okay. sometimes when it switches to non-immigrant ready, people say they are issued very quickly after. others don't go through that step.

so you physically handed the CO your passport on the 9th? I think the 11th update was them looking into your case then. my status update date never changed when i registered for canada post or the website.

keep us updated this week if you receive any news!

  8. Okay as long as the status' im seeing are normal than im okay lol praying it gets issued this week as my passport was the only issue.

A passport for me was the only issue as well too... and I'm still waiting:(

BUT your circumstances are a bit different. You were able to get the passport within two days, mine took a week to have in my hands and another two to be delivered and received by the consulate.

So you could very well have your visa soon.

I wouldn't worry too much about your status update... mine is in AP but my daughters still says READY to schedule interview, so no worries... yours is fine :) by the way, does it say ready immigrant or ready non-immigrant?

  9. Jenn, does the person who answers people emails also handles cases or just there to give you estimated time like an operator? Because it sounds to me, its forwarded for review. Maybe we still have hopes.

After seeing that email saying 8 weeks to process. I feel I have slow down my anxiety, meaning I don't have to keep checking ceac...but frustration is there big time. I was so mad, I even shout at my co-worker - so much hunger and I realize I was wrong for no reason.

Let's enjoy the weekend, and forget it about - until next round - Dec 14-18

The person who answers the emails is just an administrative professional, and has absolutely nothing to do with our cases. They have access to our status' and what not, but that's it. When they replied in the email, they told me it had been received and forwarded to the appropriate consulate officer.... Who seems to have put it at the bottom... very bottom, of his/her pile lol:(

I don't believe it will take 8 weeks to process, but so far mine has been in their hands for two and a half weeks, and the CO at my interview only told me only two.

Compared to members timelines from November and October, they seemed to have theirs within 15 business days of their documents being received. Mine has been there 12. So my fingers are crossed this week will come with good news; if not, then Montreal is either backed up or they have found something they don't like about my case  (even though I was approved on spot).

If I am doing the math correctly, 12 business days for you will put you at December 23rd. But lets hope yours goes much, much quicker!

It is really nice to have people to talk to on here, who are dealing with the same thing. So a big thank you to you, and everyone else who tries to share the positive vibes. Even though it is the weekend, I'm sure I speak for everyone... I am still stressing.... I wonder how NinjaMax is doing, how his POE went and if he is finally livin' the dream! :joy: lol

  10. Well I am at work, cant do much texting?

Is this just an estimate when you sent updated documents?

I have seen some others, get their visas less than 3 weeks.

In the meantime, I have faith for everyone to get it fast including me.

The consulate confirmed in an email that they had received the passport on the 25th. So I know it is there. They seem to have looked into my case the past two Wednesdays... but nothing happens. Nothing changes. I have seen others too get their visa's in like 7 business days after sending documents in. We don't seem to be so lucky. Maybe because of the time of the year?

Another business day practically over... sigh. Hopefully next week we will all get some good news.

  11. JennNMike,

    This is the replied

    Good morning,

    Thank you for your email!

Please note your documents were received on December 8th, 2015 and have been forwarded for review. We ask that applicants allow for 8 weeks of processing time from the day we receive the documents at post.

Are you kidding me, 8 weeks? Now, I know how it feels to be in the Pain Club.

Status updated triggered Dec 11. What am I going to do, I feel heartbroken. .

I know how you feel, this is probably the worst part of the entire process. All you can do is stay positive, but trust me, I know how hard that is.

I just don't understand why it takes weeks:(

  12. no no, they definitely didn't forget to read your email! i sincerely think they received the documents on the 8th or the 9th. Mine hit the consulate a day after it arrived at the facility. I think the weekend just sort of messed things up a bit maybe for you or because there was more than one document, it took a bit longer. who knows. but i am sure they have them by now! everyone else's seemed to have made it within two to four days of mailing it out.

and yes... Canada is just not the same in December without snow:( lol

  13. No update for me all day,

I am going to email the consulate tonight, and see I get response early morning. I am going to ask if they have received my documents and what is the timeframe issuing IV - hoping to be with my family for Christmas.

Do you think I am exaggerating by expressing my desire ?

Let me know if they reply to your email because they seem to be ignoring me :( lol

I think they have definitely received your documents though, given that your status updated the 8th & 9th. It is odd they would look into your case two days in a row, without having the additional documents they asked for. There was a weekend between the time it hit their mailing facility, to the time it arrived at the actual consulate, right? So the monday (7th) they may not have had it just yet, but the tuesday and wednesday (8th and 9th) I am sure they got it! but if you're anything like me, i would still email lol. but rest assured tonight that they probably have it.

It really sucks, being so close to the holidays and not having answers. I had a tiny little breakdown tonight, just overwhelmed I guess. But I think it was much needed, as I have now finally accepted the fact that we will have to cancel the wedding tomorrow if there is still no update.. and that is ok. but christmas? I haven't accepted that yet lol.

This has been such a long process for all of us... I can't imagine those who have been stuck in AP for months... for me, each day is a feeling of hope that turns into disappointment and it has only been three weeks. Sarah03 is right... tomorrow is a new business day! Everyone try to think/stay positive! We will have those visa's soon:)

  14. Dec 3 - Received by Offsite Facility

    Dec 7 - Consulate says hasn't received

Status Updated triggered on Dec 7,8,9

I know its frustrating waiting, without knowing if they physically had my documents. I had to sleep early so I can stop thinking and even when I wake up I still cant stop thinking it about it.

The 7th update was probably the email of them saying it hadn't been delivered, and the 8th or 9th could have been when they received it!! I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my documents were delivered the 25th and as you can see, I am still waiting:( Really sucks! Our wedding cut off date is tomorrow, although now we think today might be it.

And I also highly doubt you won't be approved! So I wouldn't be too worried about that :) but because you sent quite a few documents in, it might take longer to process them all than it would just one. But I think you should be fine for the holidays... there is plenty of time left.

  15. My case status never changed to Administrative processing and I was thinking that why my case status is different than others!! Each case is a little different I guess. Your's will be issued shortly

    That is interesting!

Mine has been stuck in AP and my daughters in READY since the 16 of November. Neither have changed, not even once. I guess every one is different.

  16. dyllic420, Stacky,

    Congrats both of you!!

    JennNMike,

You mean at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv- Follow-Up Documents box

Should I copy and paste the email the consulate sent me, asking me to send my documents? would it trigger the status update again?

Mine was updated today, Dec 9, I wonder what it was.. but still shows Refused

It didn't seem to trigger any update. I don't think it does anything to be honest, other than give us the courier information. Mine still says:

    Status "Send Documents"

Even though they were received the 25. So I think it is pointless. Still waiting on an email back from the consulate I sent two days ago.

    Every day is torture!

    When were your documents received?

  17. Hey everyone,

just thought I'd post, feeling a little discouraged. But first off, So happy for everyone who is seeing "issued".

I had my interview in Montreal on Dec 1 and was approved. Since then my CEAC status has changed as follows

Dec 3 - Ready, check back in 2 business days

    Dec 4 - Administrative processing

Dec 7 was the last update. I know that I am still well within the 14 business days time frame, but seeing people who have had interviews after me get approvals is worrying me a little. Does anyone know if at this point, even though I was approved at my interview, the decision could be changed? or that they might ask me to send more documents? Is there any one I can chase up with at the consulate who might have some answers for me? Any help/advice/encouragement is appreciated!

There probably isn't anything to worry about. When you check your status, is it still immigrant or has it switched to non-immigrant? Usually non-immigrant means it is getting closer to being issued :)
