  1. Hi, there.

I had AOS interview at San Francisco Office today. It was a kind of interesting experience.

At first, we arrived the office 8:15, just 15 minutes before my interview. The security guy, standing the front door, told us " Show me your cellphone". My husaband's and mine both were a camera phone. And then, " you CANNOT bring cellphone inside the building because of camera" Where we should put???? Security guy showed a photoshop, just cross the street, can hold them with some money....

So it's better to bring a cellphone with no camera... I guess. It made me really nervous because we did not have so much time left...

We submitted the interview letter at 2ed floor and then waited for 10 mimutes, the chavy short lady, look like philipino, called my name and we follow her to get a room.

She looked kind of mean and she looked really in a hurry. We showed IDs and stated "no lie". She quickly removed 1-94 and wrote down something on my visa. Afterward, I answered almost confirmed her questions, such as my dad's name, my mam's name, where I born and what I am doing. Meanwhile, she also asked my husband to show the assets or joint account evidences and she ordered "quickly". Unfortunately, I prepared all copeis and paper so that he tried to stare inside my bag but he could not find it...

She showed a little smile and said " Oh, it doesnot work well. OK, I will ask him questions so it is your turn."

So I grab the papars and put on her desk. He was asked where he met me, we have wedding party, we have met both parents, what he is doing and how's his company....

After that, she checked copies quickly, in 30 second, and stamped all over the documents. She had never looked at any pics.

" OK, you will receive the Green Card in 2 weeks, so that you should pay attention to the mail"

It was almost 5 minutes for whole interview. My husband said that he may hear about her in VJ, and she did really nasty interview... She could be really mean, I guess, so.

We done and such a release!!

I hope no mistake on the card and really thank you for you guys.

  2. So no RFE..but we're on hold...some checking ..most likely security..Has anyone ever had such an issue? We were told to be patient? I really feel that they need to be clear about this and upfront if this is a security check. In our case, we had an application that was in stuck in checks for over year..to date nothing has happened so we withdrew it and reapplied.

It is very frustrating for my husband to walk around without a SSN and without being able to work on campus.

Hello. I saw similer case in AOS thread. Why don't you post at AOS thread,

because more people can see it and the hold comes from the AOS issue.

  3. You dont return the EAD card ........ still have mine

If they are running your FBI check then you wont be approved as such so you wont have stamp or actual Conditional permanent resident card

So if you have the EAD hunt away you wont lose it till either runs out or is replaced by the actual Resident card

    I see...

Thank you for ansewering the stupid question and Good luck for you, too

  4. I am sorry I think it is a stupid question...

OK. If AOS get approved, we should return the EAD..and USCIS sometimes give stamp but not for all

It takes a little while to recieve GreenCard... Sometimes it takes a year, like FBI name check...

While the person receive Green Card, how can we prove the eligibility to work??

Just make infopass to get stamp if the person could not get the stamp at interview??

because I may look for a job around my interview day.

    Thank you

  5. Hi all,

I recieved RFE's for my 2 childrens AOS paperwork dated 07/01/06

They were mailed back on 07/06/06 and recieved at leesumit on 07/08/06, (tracked them online via usps)

Up till now my online status hasn't been touched in any way since 07/07/06, (our date for biometrics)

Is this normal that an update hasn't be made to show they recieved the RFE paperwork or should i be worried and call to make sure they have them.

    Thanks

    Ally

On the plus side i got my biometrics letter for EAD in machester on the 23rd.

I am sorry to hear... :(

It sounds like 800 number did not work well...(many people get adviced " wait for 30 days" repeatly)

    Infopass sounds better but....

I hope the mail for request RFE works for you

Hope we hear from it soon!!!!!

    Hi, WalCruz.

Yours will come soon because my timeline, RFE, and EAD are almost same. Just different local office has a little different schedule for interview. My last touch was June 20(recieved RFE notice) and after that nothing changed online.

Hello. I saw many people's time line did not get any touch a little while and suddenly received a interview letter because the interview letter did not change online status...

Actually, I told myself like this. This thinking helped me...

    Good luck

  9. Wow, sad that that kind of time span sounds totally reasonable coming from USCIS...

Does anyone know if it really could take 3 months if they are approved at the interview? Or is that just if there is no official decision?

    You can check it out...

    Dorothy

Hello!! It takes a little while to see the case online. I think USCIS takes a couple of day to put date on the their system. Look at my time line.

    Good Luck!!

  11. Hello.

I think if you have a driver license or state ID, which your married name is on, you do not need it.

Actually, I realized after I applied AOS, I cannot change my last name on the state ID and SSN and I cannot get driver's license before get EAD or Greencard. I did not have any problem so far my maiden name on it, though.

You need EAD to change you last name on your state ID or Green card is totally up to the state and it sometimes just up to the officer at the place such as DMV or SS office...

If the AOS process is very smooth and no problem, I do not think you need it, unless you want to have a job.

But I realized that some people took a long time to get GC...Such as FBI name check, wrong imformation on the GC, some mail problems, slip between the INS officer's desk, and etc...

I can not say that I won't be the one...

Although you can apply EAD later on e- file if you change your mind so that you do not have a serious decision now

I hope it helps a little.

    Good luck!!
