  1. Hi everyone,

Please help me. My wife and I have applied for visitor visa for USA and scheduled for an interview in Mumbai in July 2023. My DS 160 application and confirmation page both show that my purpose of travel is tourism. But my appointment confirmation letter shows it is B1. How do i get that fixed? do i need to get it fixed as long as my ds 160 is correct? Please help. Thanks a lot.

  2. Question - during the interview, can you be asked to explain the meaning of the question - for example, explain what it means to be legally incompetent or confined to a mental institution? Has this happened to anyone where officer asks meaning behind the question to test your ability. Appreciate the help.

(Original question on the application is - Have you ever been declared legally incompetent or placed in mental instituation, typical answer would be NO)

It’s only required if your are submitting your petition under the exception - those who are residing overseas on military or government order.  I don’t believe passport photos are required for the ROC petition.

yep. I submitted mine without it and they accepted the application, cashed the check, and got the letter of extension :) Now waiting for biometrics appt.

Question for people who received the letter for biometrics already. how much time do they usually give from the time you received the letter and time you had to go in for the appt? 2 weeks? or more? Appreciate the help

  5. My wife had interview today at 8 am in mumbai and medical yesterday at 8 am. Both went well and got approved!!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:

Overall generic questions, where I live, where I work but a few questions around when I became a US citizen and what visa did I come to US on? But overall it was a really short straightforward interview. They did not ask for more pictures or an album since we submitted pictures with the petition.

Thanks Visajourney for all the support.

  6. In New Delhi's embassy website there is precise and clear information on biometrics appointment.

    I saw it there:

    http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-iv-visaapply.asp

I assume you are category 1.

yep I second what frankjavir said. I used that site to make an appointment for my wife who is in india. I got an apointment a day earlier than the interview date. April 14th is interview and fingerprint date is april 13th. Quick question to frankjavir - is that how you did it? just one day in advance or did you book it couple days before the interview?

  7. quick question

I got the interview letter and interview date is April 14th. I did schedule my medical date for April 1st. when I was reading instruction for Mumbai Consulate - I read something interesting which I posted below.

Visit http://www.ustraveldocs.com, follow the instructions to create an account, log in, and schedule an appointment to have your photograph and fingerprints captured at one of the five Visa Application Centers in India.

Did anyone create an account and schedule an appointment to have your photograph n fingerprints or is that something that is done at time of the interview which is already scheduled for April 14th?
