  1. The mystery continues....

The mailman just delivered the mail and guess what was in there...something from the DHS! ........Unfortunately it was a rejection notice. <_<

    Form I-797C, Notice of Action

no case type; no USCIS alien number; received date of June 30; notice date of July 12 and a returned check for US$1070. Here is the exact wording:

    *****

Recently, you submitted an application for immigration benefits. That form was submitted with an extra remittance that is not required to process your application. If you submitted a G-1450 it has been destroyed and will not be returned to you. Otherwise, your payment is being returned to you with this notice. No additional action by you is required at this time.

If you have questions call........1-800-375-5283, etc. etc.....

You will be notified separately about any other case you may have filed.

    *****

So, I sent the right amount, but they sent it back....? Well, I'm going to give the government a call. Wish me luck! :)

Yes you did send the right amount . Did you spell out US department of Homeland security?
  2. @p-ana and @jseachao907 Thanks, I poked around a bit on the website and found this:

If you have questions related to:

    Office of Intake Document Production

a filing mailed to the Chicago, Dallas, or Phoenix Lockbox.

For example, you have questions about:

    • the reason your submission was rejected.
    • how or where to submit an application or petition that should be filed at one of the three Lockbox locations.
    • whether we received your application/petition if you filed more than 30 days ago and you have not yet received a receipt notice.
    • a recent filing at one of the three Lockbox locations.
I guess we should wait until they haven't gotten back to us for 30 days. I did read in an earlier AOS forum that someone didn't hear back for 3 weeks. It will be three weeks this Thursday, maybe we're just getting impatient. But, it is worrisome that others got a reply back so quickly...

It does test your patience for sure. I didn't receive any text or email even though I sign up for it. I just got my noa in the mail yesterday. I sent my package to the main address in Chicago with tracking . I guess it's luck of the draw.

  3. My wife and I are starting to get a little concerned. K1 to Greencard AOS. Here is our timeline:

Sent package via Fedex June 29

Package arrived to lockbox June 30 10am

nothing since then.... No NOA, have not cashed check...

It is possible they sent an email to my wife's email. We are having a difficult time accessing her Chinese email account outside of China. We used my ph#, but they haven't sent a text either.

Gatsby9 got his sent back within that amount of time. So, we are wondering if it is lost in a quagmire somewhere... Anyone know what ph# to call?

1-800-375-5283. You should be prepared to provide the USCIS representative with specific information about your application, such as your receipt number, Alien Registration Number, name and date of birth.
  4. Today i took my fiance to apply for SSN, But the lady told me to contact USCIS fo get employment authorization first before she can apply for SSN to work?

    What am i missing ?

    I Brought

    1. SS Application

    2. I-765

    3. I-94 Print out

    4. Passport as ID

I plan to go back tomorrow hopefully to see another person

You have everything . Don't forget your fiancé birth certificate from her country also. Ask for a superviser on your next trip. Unless she plans on working. Other then that what you have list plus the birth certificate that's all I need for my fiancé . Best of luck !!!

  5. Started our journey November 27th and got our interview date for February 18. Our visa was approved after 3 questions in a five minute interview!!! We are so excited. I am working in Vietnam right now and if my France's passport comes in the mail before the 25th she will be able to fly home with me instead of flying alone.

For those of you still waiting and pulling out your hair, make sure you have already done everything you can for all the other steps while you wait. Things move at your pace once you get NOA2. Good luck!

Congrats bro!!!! My fiancée interview is February 29 I hope all be easy for her too!
  6. Our case showed ready at the Bangkok, Thailand Embassy on Friday 1/29. We sent packet 3 on Saturday 1/30 and it was signed for on Sunday 1/31. My fiance received the email with packet 4 instructions and her interview date Tuesday 2/2 at 4pm local time for Thailand. Her interview is 2/18 at 10am and she has already scheduled her medical for this Friday.

Everything is happening so fast now! Best of luck for everyone, things move as fast or as slow as you go once you get NOA2.

Congrats brother! Now it's time for me to start yelling at my attorney

  7. All of that is already done, and on it's way to her, I'm just trying to figure out if we should wait for the case to depart NVC and head to GUZ before trying to schedule the interview, or if we can start doing that now.[/quote

When you go to the nvc status check and it says your case is ready to schedule an interview, you can start the ds160 online but make sure to save and let her finish it in her country . Go online and look up ds 160 , there's a lot of YouTube step by step. Next pay for the interview/ visa. Look up forums in your fiancé country .

Start preparing your pkg3 , you can search online for the pkg3 and download it
