  1. I tried to look this up but there are so many different answers with many different dates. I thought I'd try fresh.

The I-131 says that AP cannot be asked for tourism purposes. Does honeymoon count as tourism?

Has AP been granted for honeymoon purposes after you follow all K-1 procedures and AOS? Also, the instructions of AOS say "(3) If you are an applicant for adjustment of status, a copy of a USCIS receipt as evidence that you filed the adjustment application;"... but I won't have that because I'm filing at the same time as the AOS.

Let me know your thoughts, thanks!

  2. So I'm doing the I-864 and it seems that I only need to put in 1 years worth of transcripts along with the form. So I clicked the optional box where I volunteer 3 years worth of support. I also make 64k a year for a household of 2 so I'm not near the poverty line.

So now, what else should be on there? Do I have to send things in like W2s, pay stubs, marriage cert, SS card, birth certificate, stuff like that?

Also, I changed my name to hers. The form doesn't have anywhere to put the old name but all my taxes are in my old name and my pay stubs are now in my new name... what do I do there?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you.

  3. My wife and I are filling out our paperwork. I'm currently on I-864 and I noticed that Part 6 question 17 says that people don't need to file form I-864A because they're are the intending immigrant with no dependents. Is this my wife's case.

I know we don't have to do the I-864A but the reason she is not filing one is both because she is the immigrant and because she has no income to contribute yet. Should I still click on it or not?

    Thanks!

  4. I am in the end stages of a K-1 visa.

I'm a USC and I will be changing my name to adopt my fiance's name once we're married.

Since we plan to file the AOS as soon as possible after marriage I wanted to know what name to put for the USC in the I-485. The beneficiary is keeping their name but it still asks for mine.

I suppose the real question might also be, when does a name change? When you get married and indicate that you will be changing your name or when you go to the social security and DMV offices to change the name?

    Thank you

  5. I'm curious, when I can come back home from USA to visit mom and fiends? I know I'm not there still and asking this but everyone is asking about and honestly I don't know.

As I understood, we are getting married and that sending anothe petition, waiting for temporary citizen approval, right? and then?

Once you are married you file for advanced parole alon g with your adjustment. Once granted you can travel. So, few months.

  6. What have you received from the consulate so far?

I received a letter from them in the mail with a link to packet 3. When I sent the information back to them, they then emailed me a packet 4 which was the link to the interview booking website and list of medical doctors.

Nothing. I submitted DS-160, i emailed packet 3 checklist that I got from online.

Now, I found a link where I scheduled my interview for April 12th. Are they going to cancel it?

  7. My K-1 says it's currently in Transit. NVC sent it over to the embassy on the 11th.

What is the soonest I can safely try to get an interview date?

The embassy website warns not to get one before we get a packet otherwise it could be cancelled without warning.

    Thanks!

  8. https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

This is how you check your case status now. When it changes to "Ready", the packet has probably been sent. You can perhaps proceed with your police clearance, DS-160, Affidavit of Support and supporting evidence, perhaps schedule your medical exam.

She has her police reports and I have my affidavit of support. She can't schedule a medical without an interview date. So that leaves the DS-160.

    Also, a K1 is a Non-Immigrant VISA no?

If I put the case number on the IMMIGRANT VISA then it says "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center."... But if I put it in the NON-IMMIGRANT it doesn't show up yet.

  9. Are they moving far enough where the interview needs to be moved or are they still within the Vancouver consulate range (aka Manitoba and west)?

Really you can't change their address and they just put their current one on the DS-160. The NVC doesn't need to know any of this unless you need the interview location changed since the K1 only makes a short stop there before leaving to the consulate.

No, it will be a small change just within a few miles.

I hope it works out well because the current "neighbor" who would pick up any mailed docs to her old address is a #######. Also, since he was horrible to my fiancee I may have scheduled him to receive a small "Send Glitter to Your Enemies" package.
