  1. Applying for citizenship

Just one time I had taken health insurance because of low income through govt. for close to 6 months. Will I be in trouble during my citizenship if I took public assistance can they deny citizenship? I have never taken any money or food stamp or anything like that. I am working same place more than 3 years and pay taxes.

If your total income is below the standard deduction and the personal exemption, then you owe no tax and you can get what they withheld back.

Unless someone claims you as a dependent.

Thank you for your help. Nobody claiming me as dependent.I am on my own. Where do i check to see if my income is below standard deduction and personal exemption? my W2 details i shared already i dont have any other job. thank you for your time to answer but its really very difficult to understand the tax stuff.

    Hi everyone!

My husband passed away last June and planning to submit my I-751 this month.

    1. Do I need to answer in part 4 questions?

    2. Which part do I need to sign? Part 7 or Part 8?

    3. My husband listed me in car insurance as a household resident in declaration form(don't drive). But after he died I closed the account and didn't finished the 6 month policy.

    4. He added me to one of his credit card but we had only 1 month statement. 2 weeks after he died I reported it to the CC company which they closed it too. and even our bank account, I closed it after he died. Is it a big deal to them?

THank you for taking time to answer my questions. GOD BLESS YOU!!!

I am so sorry for your loss.

I have gone through the same. Came to USA in 2014 and lost my husband in 2015, filed ROC waiver-spouse deceased and got the 10 year green card recently.

I still have the copies of the forms i submitted with my ROC package.

    1. For Part 4 questions, I have filled my deceased husband's details here.

his name, his dob,his ssn,his a number.physical address i added his last address and mentioned deceased last add.

    2. I have filled part 7 with my details, in part 7 question 6a. Petitioner's signature, put your signature.

Part 8 Dont fill part 8. I left it blank.

3 and 4. If you have document to support these then send a copy to them since account was closed only after he passed away and explain in cover letter.

Hope this helps. Make sure you include a cover letter and explain everything and send as much evidence possible to show that the marriage was entered in good faith.

  8. I got 10 years green card few days back, i will be eligible to file for Naturalization in less than 2 years. I will be applying under 5 year rule.

I have some questions if somebody can help

i came here to USA on  Aug 3rd 2014 on CR1 visa and got 2 year green card.

I lived as housewife no income when husband was there.

Filed married filing jointly and i have Tax Transcripts which says Tax Period ending as Dec 31,2014 & Tax period ending as Dec 31,2015 married filing jointly but mentions me as housewife as i did not work.

I lost my husband in 2015. After his death, i didnt work for one year, i tried to do some course etc so did not work almost whole of 2016. Only on Dec 23 or 24, 2016 i started work and i am working at same place till today.

    1. So I did not file for tax for 2016 as i did not work. Now when i apply for Naturalization what i am suppose to do since i do not have tax documents for 2016?

I had tough time during my ROC process as i was not prepared and received RFE and was suppose to attend interview  and later got approved. So  i want the Naturalization process to go little easier and be prepared before itself. Any help is appreciated.

2.When i filed tax  they ask if i have insurance i tell them the truth and said no that i did not have health insurance for 1 year and few months but i have health insurance after that. Some people said  i will need to pay fine. But so far i never received letter from IRS telling me to pay fine. So will this affect my Naturalization process?

    3. I applied for health insurance from govt and used for few months. i didnt take any other benefits from govt, only for insurance. Will this affect my Naturalization process?  I have health insurance from work place now.

Any advice on this is appreciated.Thank you.

I don’t know when am approved exactly so maybe it’s October 5th as per the card expiry date. I didn’t receive any approval letter . Only on case status it said card mailed on Oct 10th and received gc

  11. So i have received my 10 year green card. All the details are correct in the card but

    Card Expires: 10/05/27

    Resident Since: 08/03/14

Can you guys please confirm if card expiry month and date is wrong or this is ok? I thought card expiry should be 08/03/27 ? Please confirm if my card expiry date is ok or do i need to correct the date and send it back?

My case status says on October 10, 2017 we mailed your new card. I have signed up for USPS informed delivery, been checking everyday since then but no post from USCIS still. On USPS site, are we suppose to check on MailPieces or on Packages or somewhere else???

From where did you get the information that card was picked up at uscis producation and deliver to you today? is it from USPS? Thanks. Cant wait to get the card in hand.

Got home and found the Priorty mail waiting for me. Finally, i have the card in hand after waiting for it forever.

    Thank you

  13. Just thought to share my story. I have filed for ROC waiver .

Filed in May 2016 ROC waiver from Vermont but moved to Texas after two months.
Received RFE from Vermont in April 2017, responded.
Called USCIS after no response regarding RFE for over a month, was told that i am in line to be interviewed and file on way to my local office and that i have to wait for the interview letter.
The interview letter never came but i got the biometrics letter to take finger prints again. Did biometrics on Aug 10th and waited for the interview letter but no letter and then on Oct 11 i got email from USCIS that on Oct 10, 2017 we mailed your new card. Finally received the card today , process took 1 year 5 months.  Glad this is over. Next is citizenship but i have time for that. Goodluck to everyone going through the process.

My case i didnt have much evidence. In response to RFE i sent one page letter explaining my story frm the time i got married to till now . Then i enclosed one notarized affidavit from a close relative who knew us both as couple. And 2015 joint tax transcript. And some letters that i had received while living together with him at his address. Thats all i sent and i prayed.

  16. Hello. I am filing waiver spouse deceased. Application sent in May 2016. I dont have much documentation. so i received RFE then i called the office in july they said its been forwarded to the local office for interview to be scheduled. After that i got letter from them asking me to do my biometrics as previous one expired. Finished my 2nd biometrics on aug 10th. Now waiting for interview letter. Anyone knows how long it takes after the 2nd biometrics is done to the actual letter for interview? Thanks.

is there any chance that my case might get waived or i will have interview only? feeling so anxious

  17. Last time i had called USCIS to check if they received my RFE documents for ROC, i was told that they received the docs and that my file was transferred to the local office on July 7th to be interviewed, they told me that i will get a letter from them with the interview date.  I have not received the interview date letter still but today i got a letter from USCIS but it says i have to do my fingerprints retaken as the previous one expired but the letter does not say anything about my actual interview.

letter says your fingerprints on file with uscis has expired. In order for uscis to process my case i have to take fingerprints again.

Application support center and address and date and time of the appointment.

Is this only for finger prints or i am also going to be interviewed same day? Any ideas?Thank you

  18. Hi guys

So i do not have much evidence in my case due to the circumstances. I am filing ROC with waiver, spouse deceased. They have sent RFE and i forwarded whatever documents i could gather but when i called they told me that they are waiting to set me up for an interview and  i should receive letter from them with the date soon. I have few questions.

    1. Do i need a lawyer at this stage? oR should i wait for the interview to be completed first? Has anyone gone through similar situation? if anyone could share their ideas thank you.

    2. My extension letter will expire in few days. Do i need to make infopass and get stamp in my passport before i get the interview date Or should i just wait for the interview date and no need to get stamp now?

    please advise.Thanks.
