  1. Hi,  I just want to share my experience here in IL.  I got pregnant right away when I arrived.  I went to WIC office and they did not approved me for Medicaid because I was in K1 Visa.  The lady said I should just go back when my visa expired, but they gave me a temporary medical card for a month so I got checked under temporary medicare.  After my Visa expired I just went back then I got approved after a month,.  My suggestion is just go to your County Wic office.  Tell them about your situation and they will tell you what you can do. If you dont qualify for Medicaid they will tell you where can you get affordable Insurance. They are very helpful here in Illinois, and they do not discriminate, even you're not a citizen or resident.  And also, Ive been here for two years now but we've just submitted my AOS last December.  I just put the Medical that I had before I go here.. Now My AOS is ready to be scheduled for Interview.  Im not sure if they will ask for the Medical before the interview but I will let you know when I found out.

  2. Hi Guys, just want to share an update.  Im getting a little frustrated with EAD/AP because Im almost at 5 months mark but got a good news today.  I received a text from USCIS that my I-485 is ready for interview.

    PD: Dec 20, 2017 (I-485, I-131, I-765)
    Adjusting from K1
    Chicago Office
    Biometrics: 1/26/18
    I-485: Case-ready for interview as 5/15/18
EAD and Advance Parole: Still case received

Questions, How long does it usually take to have interview date? We've been waiting for AP because we want to book our ticket. Are they still going to process the AP/EAD?

  3. I've also become like that at some point but my husband is just very persistent.  Whenever I don't want to talk to him he will call my parents and even my sisters.  I think just don't give up and just be there for her. And be honest and tell her everything.

  4. I agree with you. LDR is really hard.  I think my husband also has the insecurities that you have.  When he visited me in the Philippines it's his first time to be on airplane.  He also have difficulties with money, I think he promised me 3 dates and keeps postponing But he did it. He flew 9/11 because that's the cheapest that he can get.  I believed that Filipinas are very understanding, you just need to tell her everything so that she knows what to expect. that's my husband did.  He told me how much money he can bring and we worked with that.. You don't need to spend a lot of money during your visit, you can ask her if you can stay in their place instead of hotel.  When my husband visited he stayed at our house and I cooked for him so he didn't need to spend a lot.   Just make her understand and I'm sure she will help with financial if she can.

  5. If you really need it. And if you are eligible. I think you should try it.  It's not only about the food and vauchers they give.  They are also giving support to pregnant women for good nutrition, give baby the right food. I was on Wic when I was pregnant and the county is very helpful with my pregnancy.  And they make sure that I'm eating the right food for my baby, make sure that my baby is safe, teaching me how to right feeding for my baby, things we need to buy for her,  and encourage me to breastfeed. It's for low income people so you are right that it is for poor, but if your income is eligible I think it's best to apply because it's the program of US government.

  6. Hi Everyone... I want to help a friend and want your opinion.. They are asking her for additional evidence after the interview of AOS.. She said she needs an affidavit about their relationship and living together.. She said she will ask the neighbors for it.. Do you think it's a good idea? I told her I think it's better if the affidavit is from the brothers of family of US citizen.  Thank you so much.
