  1. Hi guys,

I had my interview in Montreal 45 days ago, and since then I entered AP status (officer said that he needs extra time to review my case without asking for any extra docs, he didn't ask to get my passport) and remained like that until yesterday when I noticed that it changed to "Ready" for interview appointment. I think there is a glitch in the system because I am not supposed to have another interview. Does anyone have an explanation? Should I expect them to ask for my passport soon?

    Thank you.

  3. Guys,

If anyone is looking for a place to stay in when planing to visit US consulate in Montreal, Canada, I advise you to check this place on Airbnb: https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/15069762

This guy is renting his place for $49 CAD/night... it is very neat, and clean.. and it is a walking distance of 25 mins from US consulate and 20 mins from the Panel physician in Montreal. Also if you are coming by Greyhound from a different province, the bus station is literally two minutes from this place, and you can see it from the window of your room.

I highly recommend it... Spread the word, and help all Canadians immigrating to US!

    Best of luck.

  4. Hi Saved,

I think you have lots of time. We applied for a consulate change via e-mail after case complete, and it was approved three days later. I called the NVC before requesting the change and they said that as long as an interview hadn't been scheduled, the package hadn't been sent to the consulate, and it was still easy to change.

We had previously thought about changing the consulate, and they said it could take up to 30 days to respond to our e-mail. I would maybe call them every 2 weeks or so, and check on the status?

    Hi Jennifer,

Thank you so much for your reply. Did you get a new case number issued after the change? I am a bit worried because both the DS-260 bar code and the cover letter still reflect the old case number. would that be a source of confusion for the NVC? they are tooo slow to fix issues!!

When did you apply for your case change? I applied a week ago, and I received a notice saying that it will take 30 days! I hope it wont take that long!

I am also applying for MTL as my new consulate which accept electronic processing, but my old consulate do not. I am currently waiting on the document submission until I get the approval of the change request so that I can submit electronically. Is that right? or should I submit by mail and save some time?

    Thank you again!

Thank you so much Jennifer for your reply. We're you issued a new case number after the change? I am a bit worried because the DS-260 and the cover letter both have the old case number. Hope that doesn't make any conflicts with the NVC since they toooo slow to fix issues!!
  6. Hi guys,

I submitted my DS-260 online just before I realized that my request for consulate change was not yet processed. I am still waiting to here from the NVC about the change. Do you think I will need to resubmit another DS-260 since the old one has the old case number (old consulate letters).

Has anyone been in such situation? How long it takes to process consulatechange requests?

    Thank you.

  7. Well, tough to say. I've heard it was always the standard 30 days... Our scan date was 12/4. We did get a checklist on 12/18. We emailed the document that same day, and then had an official CC on 1/5. Not sure if we would have had a CC on 12/18 if they had the doc they needed.

    Oh that makes sense then.

May I know what items were requested in the checklist?

    Do you have an attorney?
