    Thank you guys!

Question, do you know if there're different types of 221g given in Cairo?

The first time they gave my husband one, it said 221g. The document they handed to him now, doesn't say 221g nowhere.

221g is AP document that will highlight or marked with that is missing or what need to be review before making any decision.

    Hi Everyone!

It has been a while since I posted in VJ.

I will tell you a little bit about our case:

My husband and I have been married for 3 years and a half. I submitted my I130 petition 1 month after we got married. It has been a nightmare but we are hanging to our hopes and dreams.

My husband had his 1st interview 10/26/16 and he was put under AP. The consul was not very friendly and did not let my husband talk. After like 7 or 8 months, the case was sent back to USCIS, where it took a year and some months. We hired a Lawyer and we filed a Mandamus Law; Within a month, we got a reply form USCIS with a NOIR; We gathered all the proofs we could and sent a 5" binder to them. It took 30 days for them to answer, and they reaffirmed it.

After reaffirmed, it was sent to NVC within a week, and to Cairo Embassy within a week. After that, it was updating often and within 2 weeks, my husband got a call for Medicals and police to be renewed. When we sent it, they called right away for an interview date.

Second interview was last Monday 01/15/18, and interview was good. Officer was very nice and polite (a different officer); and at the end of the interview, he asked my husband for the Marriage Certificate, he gave it to him and Officer asked for the Original one (My husband believe that they stayed with the one with the pictures on it when he had the first interview, or he lost it), but he got another one from the ministry (without pictures), and translated it. Officer was kind of unsecured on whether to accept it or not. My husband gave him the certified translation, he took it, went back and came back with a sad face, and told my husband that he needed to investigate before he could issue a visa and handed him a 221g; officer stayed with all documents and passport and here we are again in the waiting game .

Any advises? Do you guys think it will take long or is just a matter of weeks?

I sent an email to the embassy letting them know that I have one of the originals with pictures, and that I could send it to them, but they replied same generic answer about being on AP.:(

I'm really sorry to hear about that, that means there is something is causing them to put him in AP like that. AP now is routine even if you don't have to go to AP , I'm really sorry to hear about that , always be optimistic.

And as I also advised you before, never apply for a CR1 unless you actually live together for a good period of time as a married couple, say 6 months AT LEAST. Otherwise, I totally fear that your case will simply be thrown into AP, or even denied on the spot.

Just because you're married doesn't mean the CO will believe you. In fact, he's more likely to be in doubt if the couple had already applied for a K1, canceled it, married and reapplied, all within a very short period and without enough face to face time together as a couple.

Just saying, but I truly wish you'd never be denied, let alone go on AP.

Nonetheless, if there's a pregnancy during the first few months of your marriage, before you apply, that's a big big proof for your bona-fide relationship. No rush though :)

I disagree with you, because you will find a couple are Engaged ...or married ( they don't have kids ) or ( they have kids together ) and they are still going through AP ( but a personal experience I see it's back to the consular 100% to issue this visa or not , because the reason behind delay the consular ..because if he/she wants to double check or delay anything it will be from his/her side. anyway I'm not trying to convenes you or anyone here, I'm just sharing a personal experience.and I wish for you the best.

  6. For all who still in AP, I understand how it feels, tearing , depressing, frustrating to be in AP and you don't know why because the Call Center or even the embassy emails are the same no info just wait, Just stick to your loved once and pray and be patient the relief will comes very soon, I'm sorry I can't answer all your question recently I'm very busy. But I will always try to answer all your questions.

Hope for all of you to get your visa soon. wish for all of you the best.

Hi I  was wondering.. I read that you were going through this AP nightmare for 2 1/2 yrs... we are also in the middle of this terrible nightmare.. My husband is from Egypt as well and he had his interview June 21, 2016. they requested his family history ( which he gave them after 2 days) and put him in AP. Since that time we have only seen a few updates. it's been 15 months now and it's very frustrating as you know well. Our last update was Aug. 24th and 28th and before that it was back in Jan. I've had Congress look into it 8 months back with no avail. I want to know for how long you sat in AP itself and did you have to redo your medical/ police report and other necessary paperwork needed in the interview?

    Thank you kindly,

    Lisa

i'm sorry to hear that ,but I was 18 months in AP and yes I redid the medical. wish for you guys the best.

  8. Guys please don't worry about security background checks , it's about time and once they will finish it they will approve it , just keep and always keep in contact with the embassy even if you receive the same email every single time , this is my advice. and also make yourself busy, and don't worry in sha Allah khier ( God willing ), keep your trust in Allah, he is the best planner.

Please, don't be. I didn't mean to make you worried - I was carefully analyzing the situation to make I can give you an accurate opinion. Taking evidence is a good sign, it means they have an intention to consider approving the case some time soon.

Note that he didn't take any evidence from me or anyone else I mentioned before before going on AP.

    Ameen ya rab!

It's very true, before and now even much much more. Their job is to find a reason to deny you, it's upon us to prove why we shouldn't be.

It's back to them If they need to accept it or not , they don't care if you have kids , even If you has no problem in your country or outside , or even there is no red flag , or even how long you are stuck in this process , their job is refusing you for even for no reason.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear from you! that's the spirit!

May Allah make it easy for you and us.

1 more thing lol :) : You said he asked for evidence. Did you give him like photos, documents or both? Did he take his time to look at them? or maybe they'll take a look at em some time later (very possible, if there are plenty of chat logs, phone logs, etc.).

Usually, on a K1 visa case, when both days match and "immigrant" is changed to "nonimmigrant" it's considered a sign of approval on the case, even if status is AP.

We're as patient as we can .. but everything has its limits.

I rarely heard of the rejection part after requesting the passport. Especially, if you have a good solid case, or after being approved, which is the case for most of us here despite the red flags.

Look man, embassy job is refusing visas as much as they can specially after the new president, so I was in your shoes guys and I wish for you easy process and to be with your loved once and reunited again. Allahum Ameen

  11. Good morning everyone,

I just want to tell you guys be patient , every case is different, even it's a good or bad interview, even if they ask for your passport sometimes they rejected it after that , just i'm trying to tell you be patient and everything will be ok.

there are some background check takes some time.

    finger cross for you all.

and In Sha Allah khier, ( God willing )

I'm sure there is know real way of knowing... what causes them to place people on AP longer than others... especially when cases seem so similar? I worry for Ahmed being placed on AP... we are already mentally preparing for the possibility. He's never left Egypt, he's only been working as an engineer (telecommunications) since 2015 (as he finished his university studies in 2015). We've been married and living together nearly 8 years, have a 6 year old daughter together and are of the same religion. I'd think our situation would be straight forward... but I still worry nonetheless.

There is always a way to know but a lot of people don't know. You can visit fbi website and take a look from there.

It doesn't matter for them if you are in the same religion or even having kids, when it comes to federal check no feelings or motions for them, they will do the job and never look on family side.

wish for you the best and acceptance and never sperad and be always united.

Ahmed has not gotten an interview date yet. We're still waiting. But of course we worry about the possibility of him being on AP. Alhamdulillah we're here together in Egypt. I appreciate your advice and your encouraging words. We don't want expect the worse... but we do hope and pray for the best. I'm so happy that you are now reunited with your family and wish for you a very happy life together. Thanks. Amy

Thank you, I wish for you the best guys. In sha Allah

I dont agree with ur way of talkung..ur information may be true but ur way i dnt agree with it ...at the behining when u xere in AP and suffering like we r suffering ow u were never able or even thinking abt wht u r saying now ...let me tell u tht thid AP is tottaly a bullshit n i see as a way to torture ppl and as way for the CO to show their real racisme especialy after trump laws ...

Let me tell u tht i saw 2 cases of ppl i know ..one of them he went for AP for missing documents ( fb chats and medical results tests) guess wht the first thing he did when he got off the embassy  was to call his wife n tell her to F... off but just after  15 days he took his visa. ...the other guy i know he is nice guy he was in AP for missing documents for 50 days he gave them their documents but then they called him telling him tht hid case was sent back to the uscis.... i am also in AP for no missing  documents for like 21 days now...al i see is this is way to enjoying tirturing ppl and it can never be a way to evaluate if we r bad or good as applicants bcs u never can know the inside of person n let me tell u tht this of interview for cr1 visa is tottaly a game ..how come for a dv lottery winners to go to usa so easily and n when it comes to the cr1 visa applicants they make u sometimes back to the uscis ..u dont know wht r u talking abt cus u only lived few months in AP but if they made u back to the uscis then wait from 12 to 18 months to hav a second inteeview then right there u will see clearly.....

    good luck to everyone

for your knowledge I have been going under this process for 2 years and half until i got it in my hands

I don't appreciate what you said because it doesn't make any sense.

this is your opinion and I respect it but not accept it

Wish for you the best bro and reunited again with your wife.

  15. Salam Alaykum everyone,

I was lately busy but I was following you guys and read all your comments and questions.

please for who is waiting for thier visa and finished interview be patient for 60 days and then follow up with the Embassy again.

Specially in Egypt the call center for the embassy is outsourcing and they will never give any information " is that mean they don't know or see your updates?" No they know everything and can see every update for you but they didn't have this authority to give a piece of information( my advice don't waste your time with them in a call) just email the embassy.

I'm sorry to hear about the ban for you guys from these countries but trust in Allah and be patient the government is working on it here.

people from Egypt ( please don't worry if it takes time or not after interview) because sometimes you are approved and then you see you are in AP  scenario!

AP is a process for everyone from middle east specially (Who is Muslim) Cristian people take visa faster than anyone who is Muslim ( but as I said it's AP  scenario )

each embassy working in different way but under one rule "AP  scenario " people here in US in NVC don't know what are these guys doing in the embassy? However they are doing their work and I only agree with them in one point to check on everyone is coming because as there are a good people there are many bad people that cause us a problem because they are bad people cover themselves under Islamic religion flag.

    why I said that?

Because I want to tell everyone that AP it's a role for who wants to come to US but more difficult for who are Muslim.

AP it's not only about your relationship with your spouse.

AP is about your name in system

    about your religion

    your background i.ln your country

    your education

    your work history

    your lifestyle and history

    your relatives history

and if you're good and everything is ok but your name get hit in thier system "then you have to wait" until it's clear.

my advice read the FBI notes and check and see.

BTW,people here in US different than you see in TV. You will find a lot of good educated kind people and as any country you will find bad people too but the most they are good and this is the American people that I know.

Guys, I know how it's important for you this visa to be with your family or spouse or relatives but you need to know something is really important " patient is the key" to go through all these ridiculous procedures and being pinding or banned or listed or or or .there is always a key " patient "

I was in your shoes and I never do something bad or being bad I just have to go through these process with my visa that makes family far away from each other and make them crying and depressed and  frustrated and be unhappy by being far from each other just because process that you don't know what's going on?except you have to wait!

Be happy with your family and live with it and don't makes it mix your life up " speically for the man is waiting for the visa" try to be patient and make yourself happy with your wife, give her your time because that's the only thing that she can takes from you until to be together and always appreciate her in your life because she hurts, depressed, frustrated ,unhappy for every single second that you are far away from her.

I really wish for all of you the best than I have and be with your spouse or family soon in sha Allah ( God willing ).

these days will be faster than you think and process going faster because there are many embassies in ban countries stop working on immigration that gives a lot of hope to other countries that they can be accepted.

wish for all of you the best and these four years go so fast and as I always said " no orange no problem "

I will try to keep in touch.

     Please keep me updated.

Hi all. I have a question about AP. Is it more common for someone to be put on AP if they are an engineer (Electronics & Electrical Communications? I read something some months ago and can not find the same article again, that mentioned certain countries as well as types of employment can put you in the  category of being place on AP. Is this entirely true...? I understand that there is no true way to know if you'll be placed on AP and for how long, but I thought I'd ask.

All those who are still waiting, I truly hope for you all to be issued your Visa so soon.

Yes brother it is,but don't worry about it. Just be patient and follow with the embassy via E-mail because if you call them will never make a change and they will never give a piece of any information for you.

Us too. My case is back to US and we don't even know what would they request from us. The worst is that I am even afraid of traveling these days, to visit my husband; but I guess I will have to do it.

I'm sorry to hear that, but my advice is to visit your husband because you don't know how long it will takes.

i wish for you guys the best.
