When you went for your Infopass, had you been told to wait 120 days but ignored them? I'm happy to do the same thing, just didn't want to get told to go away and come back (which happened the last time I had an Infopass)

We played it smart and nicely. We said that we would like to get some paper on the current status of the case because we can’t renew the driver’s license. And they had to look at the case and then we just asked questions regarding the case and 2 days kater there is an approval.

If we don't hear anything in a month we will probably make an info pass appointment, as well.

My husbands drivers license expires soon, and he needs it to drive to work. We are also trying to save up all his vacation to go visit his family this year (he doesn't want to have to take multiple days off to keep renewing his drivers license (again with his EAD and then again with his GC )). We just want to up date it once and be okay with it.

Oh immigration sorrows.... *sigh*  The office is 10 minutes from where he works so we could likely sneak over quickly.

appts are 2 weeks away usually and you need to book them from 12 am to 2 am to get a spot :)

It's been one week since our interview and there has not been any updates on the case. Bummer.

I was hoping we would be one for the lucky ones that had a quick turn around.  I just imagine our case file sitting in a large stake of papers on someones desk, in some windowless office.

we had to go in there with infopass to ask about the case, the lady at the front window got the case and then she looked at the whole thing and 2 days later we were approved

After reading all the above comments I am trying to keep my expectations low on getting an approval update in the next week.

We upfront asked the IO if there was any need to update any the paperwork in our file. She said it all looked okay. Specially our financial and medical papers because we had copies of everything with us.

And even if we do, my expectations are low that the date will be correct on the GC. Haha.

haha, I hear you - you will be fine, glad you are done with that part

is see your point but @BaltimoreFiler says tier 2 says his gc start date is correct. so now i'm more confused.

Tier 2 told me that my wife cannot adjust in the US and then they got her an incorrect category on the green card... I know a guy that got approved with his wife a day before 2 years (on the spot) and the officer offered to wait a week to approve them for a 10 year green card

Let me know what you find out please!

Approval - it’s no brainer. Mine started that way, some people’s AOS applications are pending for for than 3-5 years, once they are approved it would be silly to be eligible for a citizenship. Want to believe it or not, you will need to replace the green card. Conditional one expires in 2 years once approved

My GC start date is 1/23/2017. I wasn’t even married then. Looks like they just arbitrarily put mine one year before my interview...

Exchange it, otherwise there will be delays and issues at the cotizenship stage,  better do it now vs later and cause problems. It’s free. They made a mistake on ours and we’re doing the same now, which is unfortunate but...

    PD July 3rd 2017
    Interview - 31st Jan 2018 Baltimore
    GC in Hand - 7th Feb 2018 ( 7 months)

A week after my interview was approved on the day my Conditional Green Card came today.

The GC starts from my file date not my interview approval date.

For people waiting over a year, by the time you get approved you’ll be applying and paying again to remove the conditions 6/9 months later

Do I send my current valid EAD back or chop it up

You need to apply to replace your green card- it’s a mistake. Once you file, get a stamp in passport.

The letter i received was a G-56 Form asking me to show up, that letter is addressed to me and me only the first interview letter was addresed to my wife,  now on a separate paper the standard list of things they sent me for my first interview is included on this second one and it says to bring the wife. the weird thing i found is that it contained the forms i need to fill out again that were expired like medical and affidavit. Hence my worries, why couldnt they just ask me to mail it to them you know?

Second interivew I am thinking. What office is it at?

I’m still amazed that I was approved yesterday, I was expecting the 120 day decision letter

Also now that the 485 was approved, should the i130 that my usc wife filled in been approved, there’s been no change on that

485 will never be approved without an underlying petition which is either 360, 130 or 140. so I-130 must have been approved at the same time but that case tracker is not in a hurry! :)

    Hey guys

had my interview today, was verbally approved at the end of the interview. The IO said her computer was down so will put it through tomorrow, was not given the 120 day decision letter.

It felt more like a chat rather than an interview, Interview was scheduled for 2pm, we was called in around 230 and was out by 250.

we was sworn in, and ask for Driving Licenses and Passports for both of us.

The IO asked my wife the USC, our address, my full name and date of birth.

She then asked me the same about my wife.

She asked If we had any more evidence to give

    - mortgage letter

    - car insurance shows both or names

    - blank check from joint account

    - a 2016 and a December 2017 joint bank statement

    - our joint phone bill

she kept all the above but also I took our joint credit cards which show the same number

we still live with the in laws which we explained cos we were saving money and she totally understood.

Then we we spoke about how we met, when, who proposed, how proposed, where proposed, what’s our future plans.

also asked if my wife had met my parents in UK, she hasn’t except by Skype, due to my mom can’t fly and I can’t leave the country, we explained that we plan on going home in the summer.

The IO went through a scrapbook I’d done, and our photos, she loved the photos of our dog and asked for 5/6 for our folder.

Went through some of the Yes/No questions, she was laughing at some of them and what she had to ask.

After that she said I am approving you today, and she will put it through either tonight or tomorrow.

I am patiently waiting for the text/ email update from USCIS

I will answer any questions if you have them

Expect mail, my wife has been a resodent since 12/22, and the online status is not updated! Congratulations!
