Do we have anyone file for 1-751?

Yes we did so in June 2019 and got the extension letter 2-3 weeks after. ( it’s an 18 month extension on his 2 year green card). My husband likely won’t ever see his 10 year green card as we will file his citizenship same time next year. The officer will automatically remove conditions and grant US citizenship( under being married to a us citizen while holding green card for 3 years)hope that helps.

Hello the US Ghana Embassy is still slow and doesn't matter hassle you give them, they would always have the discretion and are the decision makers. The entire K1 Visa process is done online now until your day of interview.Packet 3 is not sent to the mailbox any longer but to the petitioner's email and must forward to beneficiary.I went to the Embassy once thinking I would have gotten packet 3 but wasn't granted entry and a lady at the reception told me NO the procedure has changed. When my case is ready and arrived at Embassy they would make contact.I took the response in good faith though felt disappointed inside. So I kept HOPING and WAITING and then after a few weeks it happened.

Ok so we are still waiting on the email but went ahead and did most things to be prepared . No appointments available is the only thing I see on ustraveldocsgh. I’m even tired

    Who petitioned for u?

    Where does she live?

Who does she live with ?

What does she do for a living? Specifics were asked

When did you all meet ?

    How did you meet?

    How have you guys grown?

What do u all have in common ?

What are your wedding plans ?

How many people will be in attendance ?

    Where will it be ?

Have you all had a knocking ceremony ?

Have u met her family ? Was it a knocking or did u give her parents a drink? He said he met my family member like my cousins and my mom but that was it. No knocking or exchanging of drinks occurred. That will be later as part of our ceremony

    Where is her dad ?

What did she come to do in Ghana ?

Yes p3 email to the petitioner.  The Embassy is slow it took 6 weeks 4 days  to get P3 and took  12 days to find interview date logging in several times each day till kicked out and I found date like 330am my time since Ghana is 7 hours ahead of my time zone . CEAC was on READY from 6/1 update 6/27 than update on 7/17 when P3 arrived in my email 830am  my time. The interviews are out till November at this point, my fiancé is scheduled October 11 when I scheduled there was few days last 2 weeks of October looks like Embassy has  3 slots per day that is open for interviews I have logged on just to see if earlier appointments have opened up or cancels but no appointments available

    hope this helps....,

Wow this was helpful !! Thank you. I was logging in everyday and not seeing anything . Well they got sent to Ghana in May but still haven’t received anything in the email except the nvc letter . We will be waiting but I guess I’m gonna take the risk and schedule them if we see an appointment date. Do you mind sharing what they said the couples need. What I know is ds160, paid appointment, police report, medical , two passport pics , evidence of relationship and affidavit of support(I-134 not the i-864) with one - three year tax transcripts  ,

  6. Ahhhhhh Ghana embassy two years later and still on some crazy BS . Read all the stories so you guys are ready for the interview and ask us oldies questions. please no need for unnecessary denials . Well I’m here again because I am helping friends.  I’m like an unpaid immigration lawyer these days but I have two cases now at the embassy but we have not been contacted . I know how to hassle them but wondering do we need to hassle them for the welcome letter/ Call-in letter/ packet3 or will they send it eventually and does anybody know how they send it. Is it by email to the petitioner . Also we went ahead for on of the the cases and paid the fee , filled out the ds160, and signed up on ustraveldocsgh to get an appointment but no appointment dates are available. If we got an allotment date we would go do the medical and get the police report and the minor other things . Someone who know help !!

  7. Just want to clarify something. There is a nvc letter you get from National visa center saying uscis sent your case to Ghana consulate. That will come in the email. Packet three however or what used to be the call in letter -packet 3, is that through email as well and to whom? The petitioner ?? I’m helping a friend and now they are stuck at this part since May. Due to knowledge I know , I had them pay there fee already at the bank , do the ds-160 form, and sign up on us traveldocs to set an appointment but no appointment dates have opened up. If it did, then they could do there medical and get the police report etc. what’s the hold up on the interview dates and the letter that gives you all the info

  8. Just thought to add. I got an email too. it seems uscis is cleaning up the system and doing last min updates from a year ago. But anywho, have any of you realized that the K-1 has got to be one of the most complicated and expensive processes of all the immigration routes. it just dawned on me that the removal of conditions which some of us will be doing come next spring will cost another $680. and if that same individual wants to be a citizen another year from that date ( being married still to the us citizen) will have to pay another $725 for the n-400. goodness gracious

  9. I was on here some time ago. I am always grateful for how much Visa Journey helped me along the way in bringing my now husband. Well since then I have also helped tons of couples online and offline however I am at a hump.

During my time, after the K-1 fiance petition was approved at USCIS. It was then sent to NVC then sent to the accra consulate. You then had to wait for a " Call-In Letter" which was usually sent to the fiance in the US.  You then sent a copy to your fiance in Ghana and they took that letter on a Wednesday to pick up what is called the packet 3/4. which was the required materials for your interview and your interview date. As my case was running through, I noticed the process had changed but never took note of it since it did not concern me at the time. Is there anyone out there who can clearly outline the new process after your case is sent from NVC to Ghana. this is for k-1 fiance visa. Thank you and i am still here for any questions regarding adjustment of status once the fiance gets here into the US. Many thanks.

  10. So I put in SR to check on our i485 on 5/12 and it got replied on June 7. They stated my application has been transferred to the field office on 5/19. I'm a bit worried because my status hasn't changed nor have I received a letter. My field office is Washington DC. Also I'm a bit bummed because I was so sure we would be interview waived and we're not. We are just over this whole process having been through the toughest embassy, we're tired of complication after complication of documents and so forth. But I guess we can do it one more time .our priority date was 11/01 and his EAD card was delivered ending of January .

Looking at your timeline, I'm sure you'll get approved soon. The seemingly endless waiting really is frustrating. I feel the same. We'll get it very soon I'm sure!

  12. they did the same to me. did you go to DHL or the embassy. My fiance at the time said he went to dhl and they kept telling him to come back. so by the fourth week, he went and the lady said he should go to the embassy and it was there. I had suspected it was at the embassy but they gave him the DHL address. very disorganized Embassy. just Thank God you are all were approved and will be out of their hands.

  13. We have posted, please go through the whole portal. I learned everything I needed to know through here. Also, I sent individual messages to people of which I wanted more info on a particular subject. if you read our stories and want more info, you can also send a direct message. Anybody I ever asked all replied me with helpful info and I have done the same for a lot of people and through that have made many friends.

  14. AOS, EAD, AND AP forms have already been filed and sent by His Grace. We are definitely use to the waiting game, having been patient with the notorious Ghana embassy. But we can't help but worry that we haven't received the biometrics appointment letter and it's been 30 plus days. Is this normal? I also submitted a service request but just wanted to get more insight. Does the wait time change due to your area and if they are busy or not. I know others who submitted around our time and have all gotten their biometrics done. Our NoA date is 11/01/2016.

  15. What is going on. so we all know they are crazy but this is beyond. Just a few thoughts, has your husband for any reason ever been to the embassy. there is something in the file that, at least to my knowledge, is making them so "sure" you all are not bonifide. As a counselor, you deny a k-1 fine but for them to come a whole year later and carelessly do so again is too much. I am very sorry to hear that.

  16. HI there, its been a long time but i'm surprised i didn't see an approval. what happened at the interview, if you don't mind. maybe a couple of our heads can wrap around why there is a delay. I know you still want to see what is going on so that will be good but you can try to make sense of it if we piece together what they asked him this time. it will be ok though.... if he has another interview date, i am sure he will get it. praying for you all . they did that to us back and forth but he will get it.

  17. Hi I wanted to know if the call in letter came with dhl delivery or came as normal mail. And also on which particular day if you can remember did it come .My fiancé and I being waiting for the longest for this letter. Thank you

It came regular mail to me the petitioner here in the states. i don't remember the actual date but it was like a Thursday i believe. if they take too long, you can email the embassy or if that doesn't work your fiance can go without the letter and see if he can do a visa follow up with maybe a screen shot from the ceac website on a Wednesday and see if he can be let in.

  18. is still in administrative processing but we have been told to come next week. They updated twice on the day of the interview and the next day. What should we do.

If you were told to go next week. that is what i would do. It doesnt hurt to get an in person status update about your visa. it may be there and they will hand it over to you. and if not, just wait two weeks after that and go again. we waited a month before we picked it up.

  19. I'm in a similar situation that is stressing me out. I went to my interview at the Montreal consulate on September 12th. The CO said I was approved and to expect my passport /visa in 2 weeks. I see my case updated to 'Ready' right after my interview on September 12th but hasn't changed since. Is this normal? What is the real timeline to exxpect my visa? Will it go from ready to AP then to issued? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would wait two weeks after the interview date and just send an email to the embassy concerning the status of the visa. I honestly don't believe in worrying anymore at this stage. the hardest part is over and you heard the magic words "that you are approved". just a little more patience and your visa will be in your hands. my fiance and i were so worried when they were still delaying us after approval. but now he is here and i see him everyday. so nothing is permanent. and there is nothing to worry about. Stay positive.
