  1. Leaving the US is not the problem. It's trying to come back! After marriage, the non-US citizen is here on a Conditional basis, even though you are married. In order to leave the US and return without incident, the non-US citizen needs to apply for "Advanced Parole". It's a fancy word that means you gotta get permission first so you can be admitted back into the US. I think the form is I-131. Once you receive approval, you can travel and return without worry.

  2. Your receipt number should start with "WAC". Those 13 characters are your case number. That information is sent to you via an I-797. Your package was complete and they accepted your check. Now you'll wait for about 4 months before they start processing your case! Welcome to the California wait! You can go to USCIS.GOV and set yourself to receive email updates when your case status changes.

  3. I don't understand why California will not transfer some of their case load to Vermont. A 4 month backlog in California is ridiculous. Why can't the Service Centers share the load? Instead, they share nothing and those of us stuck in California's Svc Cntr can only wait. I never hear of a case that gets transferred to Vermont! Sorry, I'm just frustrated and needed to vent!

  4. 1) Before you send in anything, you need to read this like here at Visa Journey.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide

    2) Write the full names on the back of each passport photo using a felt tip pen or black ink pen. Put them in a small plastic bag and clip it to the G-325. They don't like stapels!

    3) Attach the check with a paper clip to the first page of your I-129F.

    4) Make certain that the forms that you are submitting do not have expired dates

Pay attention to the details and the best of luck to you!

  5. You should not do anything until you get your NOA1. It's probably best if you just wait for the IMBRA RFE. There's no certainty that you won't have to answer IMBRA questions even with the new I-129F form. Besides, if you don't have a criminal record, then IMBRA shouldn't slow you down very much. Hey, you would definitely not want to confuse USCIS with 2 applications floating around!

  6. CSC is processing FEB 15 receipt date now. They should be updating that soon. Your receipt date is May 1. That puts you about some days away from the processing starting on your case. I have a June receipt date! You can only wait. Like most of us posting here, I wish we had been processed by the Vermont Service Center!

  7. Fiancee in Brazil. I use ATT's International Calling plan. We talk almost every day and I pay about $200 each month. I have tried some of the other plans, but the call quality is often not very good. AT&T works great for us and $200 is not too much.

  8. I guess you're talking about I-129F for K1 Visa through CSC....probably about 6 months if your docs are error free and you respond immediately to all RFEs. IMBRA will probably add 2 weeks for mailout, receive, return, system entry, etc. That's if you don't have a criminal history! The historical data at this site is pretty accurate. California processes Nebraska and Texas petitions. I'm in Texas, but I'm being processed through CSC.

  9. Married and divorced before the Green Card? Wow! So you are here in the Conditional period prior to receiving an Adjustment of Status. Your next step would have been your I-485. You may have a problem. I'd suggest that you get an Immigration Lawyer. I'm not judging, but it sure sounds suspicious and you can bet USCIS will be suspicious.

  10. I think I'd mention it. You certainly do not want them to discover it. Then it will be a BIG issue! I hope that you and your Fiancee have discussed your past. You don't want the Consular Officer informing her before you do! Part of the IMBRA law is to inform the foreign fiancee of any anomolies with the American citizen petitioner so that the beneficiary can make an intelligent decision about going forward with the VISA and subsequent marriage.
