  1. Hey guys!

I have been following the forum for a while , but got disappointed as there were no updates or new cards issued lately. All my numbers were showing validation errors as well.

    But

Today I just checked the uscis website and Ta-Dam - EAD card has been issued! Super happy! It has been 78 days, I was going to send a request on Monday, but no need any more!! Finally I can go to work, haha))

Don't give up!! Just be patient!! :goofy:

  2. Banks ask for SSNs so does credit cards and medical but if you read the ITIN that can be used in the ssn box as long as it financial related... When I went to get put on the bank account the bank told me that if you don't have an ssn you can get an ITIN which serves the same purpose by who in the US doesn't have an ssn almost everyone has 1 that's why they require it but they do accept ITIN as a replacement... ITINs are only for people who aren't eligible for SSNs

    Ah, okey. Good to know!

  3. Me and my husband were enjoying life finally being together and missed the window To Apple... The cut off window is 14days before your 1-94 expires I went 7days before and got denied cause of that reason... And you don't need an ssn to get on joint accounts... I filed for an ITIN (individual tax identification number) which allows me to file taxes to open up credit cards bank accounts all that BUT it doesn't allow you to get state ID or a drivers license... For medical you don't even need an ssn or ITIN my husband added me to his health plan after we got married (2weeks after entering the country) which was before I got my ITIN

Oh, thats interesting! Because I needed SSN for both, medical and bank)) AH, whatever!

At least you didn't have any problems with that. So lets just be patient and we will get it all!

    I am positive!

  4. I'm just kidding :)

I'm really happy that your case is moving that fast, tak derjat' (didn't know how to say that in English haha)

    :)

    Spasibo!

I'm completely relaxed about this now that I have receipts feel like a massive weight has been lifted... I'm not too concerned aboutthe waiting time for my bios appointment... Only thing I'm be checking up on is my EAD I need me ead so I can get my ssn so I can get a new ID cause right other than mail that states me address my ID (passport from the UK) doesn't match them documents.. My lawyer stressed how important that it is to get my ssn to get my state ID BEFORE my interview so the officer doesn't nit pick

Yeah, I would like to get EAD asap, I need to work and make money, haha))

You didn't get your SSN yet? I got it just after I arrived in the US. I will have to change it though, as the last name is different, but at least I have a number. You need it for medical, joint bank, etc!! Why don't you get one now?

  5. Exciting to be on your way, yes. Now you will be glued to case updates like many others haha

Nah, surprisingly I am very calm this time, its not like with K-1 visa, when I checked e-mails and made so many calls! So much stress it was!

Now I am in US with my husband, so whatever. If it takes time, it takes time, so just another waiting!

Lets relax and enjoy last months of doing nothing, haha :)

  6. The newer version is advisable . Give an estimated date you think you will travel and obviously ir is your home country to visit your family. I gave an estimate of 14 days

I wrote the time of travel as "UNKNOWN" and the estimated travel time as "N/A". Others have left it blank and been approved. I also wrote that I was applying for the AP in case of family emergency which is true as I don't plan on visiting my home country till February of next year :)

    Thanks guys!

  7. Hey guys!

I am planning to send my package on Thursday or Friday this week, but just wanted to ask a question about I-131 Advance Parole.

Did you fill the form edited 01/22/16, the newer version?

What did you write in Part 4 about purpose and dates of visit and did you also add an additional page with explanations (as in Part 7) or just left it blank or "unknown"?

Seems confusing as the guide says we don't need to fill this part, but the newer version is a bit different. I just don't want to get an RFE.

    Please, advise!! :)

  8. Don't worry, you should get it soon!

I waited for 1.5 months for P3. The status showed ready in like 3 days after NVC. but in reality it was probably flying somewhere around. NVC contacted and they confirmed having sent the papers out to embassy straight away.... Embassy contacted 3 times and their answer was "not received yet".. But in the end I got it!!

Just do the medical meanwhile and DS160, while waiting.

    Good luck on your journey!

  9. Hey Maryna,

Awesome news...travel safe. I am still in AP and hope to be out shortly since it was updated again yesterday. Be well and we will catch up soon.

Many blessings and a safe flight!!

Thank you, dear! I hope you will get your visa very very soon!! I can imagine how stressful it all is!

I will be looking forward to hear from you on next stage!

    Good luck :*

    Congratulations!

Thank you! One month left for you :)

  10. Hello guys! I am arriving in the US soon and having a look now at how to file AOS papers, etc.

I wanted to clarify about the SSN.

In the guide for K-1 holders , it says to apply for SSN as soon as you arrive in the US (or like 2 weeks after so that they have the name in the database). And then after getting married, you need to go back to their office and ask to change the name on it.

For me it seems too confusing, why would you do it twice? Can I apply for SSN after I get married? Or I will need the number for getting married?

How did you do and when?

    Thanks for help!

  11. Yeah, I agree with you, girls, the whole thing is super stressful!!

Today is the first day I woke up with a happy smile on my face and no need to check the paperwork, print something, e-mail to somebody, etc. Just 2 weeks until I finally see my Man!

Lost a lot of weight also, haha. Which is horrible, because I already weigh less than needed. Ah, thats the life. Hope, the American food will help :)

Wishing everyone who is still struggling, lots of good luck and patience!!!

    xxx

Can you contact your embassy on the phone or e mail? I believe they will extend the petition, but its better to contact them and ask whats going on with your paperwork and remind about expiration date.
