So exciting! We never got a mail saying he didn't have to go, but we did Info Pass a few times that said everything was normal! Hope so! We already applied for the N400 if you need help let me know!

    Congratulations again!

I hope you guys get a response quick!

We got done with ours tonight, we filed online, thank you for the offer though 😊

  2. So we were working on finishing up the filing for the N400 tonight, while were we on the internet we got an email with a status update for our I-751. We went and checked on the USCIS website and it looks like our application got approved and a card is being produced (see screenshot below). My spouse never went for biometrics and we did not go in for interview.

Marriage certificate would not be needed, since  I-551 Green Cards do not distinguish how they were obtained. The only 'clue' is that the issue date and the expiration date displayed represent a 2-year window of time, thereby identifying it as a Conditional Green Card, which are issued for Resident Aliens who obtained their Green Card through marriage. Your Marriage Certificate had to be presented and verified in order to receive the Green Card in the first place, and hence is not needed to travel. Your wife will just need her Expired Green Card and the 18-month extension letter (original, issued on USCIS light green card stock paper).

My wife traveled to South Korea this past June with just those two documents, and we are both traveling to South Korea this month as well. For Added Backup, I took a photo of both sides of her Green Card, and the Extension Letter, and emailed them to myself. In an emergency, should her documents become lost or stolen, I can pull up the email on my phone and show that she does indeed exist legally in the USCIS database.

    Enjoy your travels!

Thanks again for all the information and all the tips :)
Enjoy your trip to South Korea, I hope you guys have a great time!

By Law, as a Resident Alien, your wife should Always carry her Green Card with her, even day to day here in the States. Because the Green Card is past its expiration date, she should also have (a copy) of the 18-month extension letter with her (at all times) as well. The 12-month extension letter has been superseded, and so it is not needed.

For this trip to Canada, ABSOLUTELY, Carry Both the Green Card and the (Original) 18-month extension letter.

Thanks for the quick answer :)
She does carry her expired Green Card and both the letter just in case she gets pulled over (even though we live in Ohio we have immigration checkpoints from time to time). I just wasn't sure what was needed to cross into Canada and back to the US. What about a copy of our marriage certificate?

  5. I see your P.O.E. date was 4 days before my arrival - are you showing up in the I-94 records? I'm still nowhere to be found on there :( It's been 2 weeks today and we just want to apply for the SSC already lol

My advice would be to go to the SSN office and just apply for the SSN. That is what I did with my wife and the guy at the office actually pulled up himself the i94 record. Where I live is Ohio and the guys at the SSN office are really helpful!

    Best of luck!

  6. Hi everyone,

First of all, I want to thank everyone on this forum, your words of support, your guidance and your ideas have been a great help, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for everythig.

My case was received by the US Embassy in Albania and they have been quite fast. They received packet 3 from my fiancee and I and they replied today with a link for our interview, the only dates available they left us were the 13th and 15th of October and we set it up for the 15th and we need to get the medical done ASAP, other then that we are set.

GOOD LUCK to everyone here! ALL THE BEST! :)

  7. My case is now in Transit to the consulate in Albania, I cannot believe it, things are moving much faster.

TO everyone who has not received their NOA2 or still waiting for the NVC, I have just one word PATIENCE. I know it is hard all of us that are awaiting for interview and the next steps have been there and know what you are going through but you just need patience and take things slowly. I wish you all the best of luck and fast approvals.

  8. @rfejzullari - thank you.

LoL - up until the point where your fiance will get pulled into a room - I read that in the POE reviews.

LOL I had a relative of mine that came into US via immigrant visa. I traveled back with them and our POE was Detroit and the agents were nice, however the people checking the bags were very cocky and just wanted to show that they had power. But yes, my relative was pulled into a room where they took her fingerprints and photo and all that other paperwork stuff they do, I had to wait for him for like 15 minutes

  9. 1. You can go through the line together up to the point where your fiance will get pulled into a room and have her documents and visa reviewed by a US Customs Agent.
    2. You cannot go at the same officer together, one of you will get one officer and the other will get another officer.

    3. I believe both of you will be on the same line since you US citizenship and your fiance has a visa that will lead her to citizenship. This also depends on the POE and their rules.

  10. Nope, nowadays it's taking 21-30 days or so. From my experience and few others who had the same NOA2 date and close to my NOA2 date. If I were you I'd start calling them after 2 weeks.

It really does depend, a friend of mine that is also doing the I-129f got approved in one week from the NVC, just like USCIS that it approves the applications NVC as well does the same thing, so its just luck sometimes.
