Congratulations, Did you apply for N-400?

We did not apply for N-400 yet. We're going to be moving, so we will wait until we're at the new location and do it.

No. We actually live in Vermont so we filed here and it stayed here the entire time.

Just received an update on case tracker: New Card is being produced. April 10th.

They sent out new 18 month extension letters earlier this week. I bet that's what it is. Is your 18 month an original or a copy?
Not sure. At work now will have to check when I return home.

I see on informed delivery that I have a letter from USCIS to us, arriving today. This is the first letter we're receiving since the extension letter. I will update on the contents later. Everyone, keep your eyes open...something maybe starting to happen again.

I've called the helpline. I filed a query. That's how I got the 18m extension letter back in June, they just fobbed me off with that and "it takes as long as it takes." Meanwhile I sit here growing increasingly paranoid they're dragging their heels because what they really want is to undo my marriage. Any other same-sex couples in here that can make me feel better?
I also noticed my egov.uscis.gov account got locked today. Anyone know/suspect if that because they're phasing that site out or if it's something else to give me cold sweats?
(speaking from our experience only) We're also a same-sex couple and we haven't had any issues. Just the same waiting times like everyone else. At the interviews and biometrics along the way, the USCIS staff have always been professional and treated us with the same respect as everyone else. Good luck.

We received our 18 month extension letter on Saturday.

Yup, I'm at the top of the Vermont list and I'm just waiting like everyone else. I hope things start moving soon for all of us.

Indeed, thank you Redstripe, u know what I just responded to a thread on a biometric appointment question and someone replied that they filed in December 2017 and still have not received a biometric letter ! I don’t get it whit Cali ????? What’s going on! Sooo happy I filed at Vermont Center! Not to to be a “ hater”
if i filed @cali center I would not be able to go to France ! I would have lost 4 tickets since my husband won’t go to France with 2 kids without me lol.
He doesn’t speak a word of French except for “Merci” and a couple of other words
I'm guessing that California Service Center is so far behind due to volume....I mean California alone has a population greater than Canada and most EU countries....add red tape and Voila!

Thought I'd stop by to see how we're getting on - good luck to those who have Biometrics today!
Did our bio-metrics today at VSC. It took all of 10 minutes. Appt. was at 9AM, we got there at 8:45 and were done at 8:55AM. Now I'm wondering what the average wait time is from bio to interview?? I will update when we receive it. Good luck everyone.

Just saw in my informed delivery that ours has arrived today as well. When I get it I will post the Biometrics Appt. date.

If your card reads 05/02/2018 you have until May 2nd. In the U.S. we put the month first, day, year.

If you're like me and want to know as soon as a letter drops into my box what it is, I found out USPS offer a service called "Informed Delivery" which scans your mail and sends you an email or text on what to expect delivered. It's something of a revelation to me, as I had not heard of it before, and what's more, it is completely free! https://informeddelivery.usps.com/ It's not available in every zip code, but I would encourage anyone with similar "mailbox anxiety" to try to sign up
Thanks for that info! I just signed up.

submitted our 751 on Feb 1 and got our NOA (1 year extension) on Feb 6. Vermont service center. If you want to include us on your list.

I was hoping to have my 2017 tax returns to submit but I haven't received my W-2's yet and I have to send out my package this Thursday. That's the way it goes. If they send me an RFE, I'm sure I'll have it by that time. Good luck everyone.
-
do you have to send 2 separate checks or money orders for the filing fee and biometrics or is one for $680 good enough?? Thanks.
-
ok thanks for that info.
-
Hi YecaCruz, I have the documents as you and am waiting for my 2017 W-2's, if I have them in time, great, if not, oh well. Do you know if the fees for the I-751($595) and biometrics ($85) can both be in one $680 money order, or two separate?
Spoiler -
good luck to you as well.

We will be submitting our I-751 on February 2, 2018, and wanted to start a thread for fellow February filers. Wishing everyone a happy 2018 and good luck on your journey.
-
Sure, demmyrulz. I too am waiting for my 2017 W-2 info so I can file a joint return and have 2 years of joint returns to submit with the package. I think I have most of the other stuff all compiled.
