  1. Wow... I made it! Visa granted! Actually interview was on 14th January, so sorry guys details is coming late (preggers things).

Hubby came in on 13th to join me. we woke up exactly 4:30am on Thursday morning having set an alarm. Drove off at 5:45am and got to the embassy 6:45am.

I quickly came down from the car while hubby was still looking for a place to park. There we the rolls, I knew one would be for immigrants and the other non-immigrant. I asked which was for immigrants and swapped.

We were asked to bring out our Int'l passport, interview letter and then medical report envelop should be open.

After this, I was allowed to go into a hall were documents were checked and then transferred to another section in same hall where the interview letter will be submitted. After submitting my interview letter, my name was cross checked on the list they had with them and then ticked. An entry pass was given to me. This pass allows for entry into the embassy where one will be screened again and then interviewed.

We were called in 5s, went into a screening room were I had to remove my wrist watch, drop my bag into a tray, some pulled their shoes, belts etc. All these went thru a screening machine.

After this, I walked down into another building were I was asked to press a B-button by the door, it ended up giving me a piece of paper that had a number on it and my number was B450.

Hmmm... I got into the interview hall, saw some people sitting while some were standing. I joined the queue, the guy in charge quickly called me up to come sit cos of my condition (pregnant). I got into the hall around 8:32am and at 10:45 my name was called at Window 12, where a black mama had to do document screening. She asked for my Int'l passport, the little paper given to fill out my name and address. I immediately brought out all civil docs as I learnt here on VJ and handed it over. She was like hmm...GOOD! She returned all the pictures and passport we sent to USCIS and NVC. So, I asked her if I could leave cos I was tired already and she said do you want to leave I said no, I tot you are through with me. She laughed and said don't worry I'm going to expedite your file so you can go.

Less than 10 mins, my number B450 popped up at Window 1 where a white guy was standing.

I got there, smiled and greeted him.

    Me: Good Morning sir!

    CO: Good Morning

CO: He raised his right hand saying... Do you swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth.

Me: I swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth.

    CO: Take your finger print.

    Me: I did.

    CO: Who is ....?

Me: Smiling... Mr.. is my husband.

    CO: Where did you meet?

Me: We met at ... (while he kept typing on the computer, I brought out all my documents as arranged in each folder).

CO: How long have you known each other?

    Me: 20??

CO: When was the last time you saw him

Me: He's around now, he came in yesterday.

CO: Can I have your wedding pictures.

Me: I opened the first page - This is our traditional wedding pix while this is our white wedding. I opened the second page and he said that was okay by him.

    CO: Is that a gift

    Me: No,it's a traditional cake.

CO: I gonna issue you visa.

    Me: Smiling.. thank you!

CO: You pick it up in 10 days @ this address.

CO: When are you expecting your baby?

Me: This month - EDD is next week.

CO: So you are in your 39th week.

    Me: Yeah!

CO: You said your husband is around before now when was the last time you saw him

    Me: October

CO: before October when was the last time you saw each other

Me: April our first wedding anniversary - that was when I took in. I knew he was asking all these cos of my pregnancy.

My interview was less than 2 mins. I give all thanks to GOD ALMIGHTY for making it a success. I won't forget to thank dwheels for her encouragement - you've been a sister and over supportive. Also, to DonT, Manent, Laddu, Rian and other VJ members for their support. I love you all!

    God bless y'all!

Congratulations. I remember you had a time with NVC but thankfully it worked out well. That is very good.

  2. My husband is approved!! Thank God!!

My husband said interview was very easy and straightforward.

Thanks to all the help from everyone just by reading other people's question and answers and their experiences helped. Thanks a lot Shams for your advise and encouragement it helped the most; I would have still been waiting for a date.

I'm so excited my love will be with me soon. :joy::joy::joy:

Thanks for the shout out. You are welcome. Congrats again. I feel happy to hear the good news.

Thank you. Yes it was good to be there at the interview with her, and its even better that she going back with me.

Congrats again to you and your family.

    Thanks.

    Let us enjoy this blessing.

  3. Had 7:30 appointment. Arrived at the embassy about 6:45. Got called up to the first window about 7:30 for finger-printing, police certificate, passport and photos. Sat back down for about 20 minutes before called up for the interview. A nice gentleman was at the window. First he told my wife to raise her right hand and swear and took her fingerprints, He then asked my wife who i was and who the child was and asked if i did the filing. He then said to me "Thank you sir for coming" He asked my wife the following:

*What kind of work do you do?

*How did you meet your husband?

*What date did you meet your husband?

*What made you want to marry your husband?

    He then asked me:

*What type of work I do?

    *How many kids I have?

    *Have I ever been married?

He then asked how long I will be in Jamaica, I told him and he asked when I expect my wife to come to the US, I told him I was hoping she could go back with me. He said OK, he told us to come back to the embassy on Tuesday to pick up passport/visa because Monday will be a holiday.

He was a very nice officer.

Congratulations. I am glad to hear your wives visa was approved. Sounds like it was good for you to be there and with you both being able to come up together that will be great.

So you are almost done with this process. You stuck through it and here you are. I am very happy for both of you. Please send my regards to the rest of the family.

Enjoy the good times when she comes to be with you.

    Bless up.

  4. Thank you everyone! Here is my interview experience:

So I arrived there really early, 3 hrs prior to the interview. I asked one of the guards outside the embassy if I have to give them my interview appointment letter, so they will know I'm there and he said it's not necessary, because I should be on the list. But that I need to wait till 1 pm.

I came back at the embassy at 12:30 and there were already few people outside waiting. Fortunately the weather was lovely :)

At 12:55 someone came with a list and started calling the people. I got called the 5th. Inside, we had to go through security check same as when going to the airport. We were not allowed to carry any backpacks with us so I had to take out my 2 huge folders, huge wedding album + another photo album where I had pictures with us from our trips. Then we were sent to another building where we were asked to wait till we hear our names called.

Unfortunately, I was literally the last one to be called for the interview. I think there were 12 people in front of me.

When my name finally got called, I went to the window and a nice young lady introduced herself and then asked me to rise my right hand and to swear that everything that I presented and what I will say it's the truth.

First question was: did you pay anyone to introduce you to your husband? I was shocked and said: no, no, no. Then I told her that we met in Abu Dhabi, while in training, sent there by our company (we used to work for the same company). From there on it was mostly a conversation. I started telling her about us and out relationship and she was asking a question from time to time.

Other questions asked: did you started dating ever since? (when we met in Abu Dhabi)

    - Did he meet your parents?

    - Did you meet his parents? I told her yes, that they came to the wedding in Romania and that also some of his friends came too, all the way from Alaska and Canada.

    - What is he doing now?

    - Are you working?

Since none of us is working currently, she asked me: and what are you guys planning to do in US? So I told her that Bryan is looking for a job and he might potentially obtain an officer position in the US Army and that as soon as I get my SSN I will start looking for a job.

She asked: so you guys wanna settle in the US, cause I can see from your documents you have been moving around the world a lot due to your job. So I told her that yes, for the moment that's the plan, but hey.. you never know what the life has planned for you :) And then she smiled and said that's true.

Then she said: well, you guys showed us more proof than we needed and everything looks good. In that moment she took my passport and handed it to me. I was shocked!!! I thought she's going to deny my visa or something. She smiled and said: don't worry, it's your old passport with your tourist visa which I cancelled, cause I have just approved your visa. Congratulations and welcomed to United States!

I was soooo happy!!! And that was my interview! Easier than I would have expected, honestly.

When they asked me for proof of relationship, I had a full folder with hundreds of pages worth of conversations on Facebook, emails, flights and hotels from our trips, phone bills and such. They only took the emails from me, the flights and hotels bookings and the small photo album (the big wedding album didn't fit through the window lol).

They didn't ask me for any financial docs, no I-864, no W2s, no pay stubs, nothing!

Now, 1 day after my interview, when checking the ceac website I can see my visa status changed to ISSUED!!! Yaaaay!!! Nightmare is over!! Will be flying to the States on January 12th. POE is going to be San Diego :)

    Congratulations.

It is good to hear that the interview went easier than expected.

That was a very fast visa issuance which is really grand.

Now you both can start of the year on a very grand note. Very happy for you both.

  5. Look who has an interview scheduled! 1st Feb it is. Phew!

They said I was scheduled today. I am not sure if they have started the scheduling for Feb. Ours could have moved due to the senator's request. We did learn last week that our case was sent to the supervisor for scheduling. But, for all those waiting for Feb, I'd suggest call and check. If not, Jan's round the corner anyway. Have a good year all.

    CC at NVC: 23rd Oct.

    Interview scheduled: 28th Dec.

    Interview date: 1st Feb. 2016

    Congratulations. That is very good.

  6. Congratulations!! Where was her POE? I myself would be flying this 30th, with Miami as my POE! Guess I need to brush up on my Spanish!!

    Her was Atlanta.

Miami is a busy one. Watch out the CBP officer with the mean look, and I think gray hair. He is really mean lol.

Awwww that's so nice: a great Christmas present! Bless up!

    Thanks. We felt so blessed.

  7. Greetings to all,

I hope you enjoyed the break and was able to enjoy some time with the family.

My wife made it safely this past Friday and I am very happy. She didn't have much of a delay when entering. It seem the CBP officer was in a good mood and even made a joke saying that the reason for her coming to live with her husband was the wrong answer lol.

All the best for ones who still have interviews.

  8. Wow,so what do u suggest we do,call them again? We received our Noa2 18th of November, can I the beneficiary call them from Nigeria? My husband is a man of principle, hes going according to the instructions to call after a month if nothing, I told him this would only make the process slower if we don't keep calling, if I can call from my own end to hasten things up,then il be glad to

l called every day until I got the case number. I wouldn't wait on them.

  9. I was approved :)

    questions:

    how you are meeting you?

when and where you are you married?

    when your son was born?

    what does your husband?

    At what address he lives?

then she told me congratulations you are approved, you will receive your passport within 10 days. ....

    only requested paper were:

    My original birth certificate

our original marriage certificate original of my criminal record.....

    I'm happy

Congratulations. Glad to hear to hear your interview went well and was smooth.

Your experience will be one for the ages. I chuckle when I think of the reason for your expedite request. As they say you have the last laugh. That was a nice experience.

All the best with your travel endeavors.

  10. Hey, just posting to rant.

We're still on AP TWO weeks after our interview... Received 221g for the stupid CENOMAR.. Pretty dumb. Every day we hope there's news and every day get more and more exhausted from this process...

We thought the rough part was over when we left the NVC... But no. Damn government.

Sorry to hear that. We too had the 221g thing and it was horrible.

Hopefully once you give them what they need they will follow up in a reasonable time. Unfortunately can tend to go pretty slow with the review. Seems to be 2-3 weeks after they receive the document.

  11. CallMeShams, or anybody who recently had a interview at Kingston Embassy how long is a Jamaican police certificate good for, Pirklin say 1 year but they will only accept it if its 3 months or less.

Pirklin is correct, see here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/jamaica/231771/PDFs/2013%20Ask%20the%20U_S_%20Embassy%20-%20Sept%2011.pdf

So should be good for one year from when it was issued.

I think we got ours in August 2015 and we did the interview in November 2015.

Green card received in the mail today...exactly 4 weeks from POE n payment....yayyyy

Excellent. Congrats. Things are moving a long pretty well.

  12. So had my interview today and got a 221(g) because they need an updated I-864 and police cert, and also another birth cert, because the one I sent was wrong.

They kept my passport though, which I'm hoping is a good thing?!

It is good they took your passport.

Hopefully the Embassy will be reasonable in their review time. They don't seem to give too much attention to a case that received the 221(g) form. Hopefully when it give them the documents, they will follow up in a timely fashion.

  13. Did you get issued yet?

I forgot to come back in this thread. The visa was issued yesterday, December 18. Hopefully we can pick it up early next week.

We turned in the original of the document we messed up with on November 20, they got it November 23. The officer was given it on December 7. They told my wife conflicting information. I finally wrote them and poured out my heart. They worked on it the next two days.

This not the scary bad AP though.

  14. Yipeeee yipeee! Visa approved today in Kingston Jamaica. The overall thing took about three hours. Hey even pulled he immigrant applicants out of the long line and placed us at the front of the line. We were seated unlike the non-immigrant applicants. It was too easy. The questions they asked were:

How many kids she has and their age

How many times she come and see me

What's the longest I spent in America

How long I was in Canada

    Where did we meet

And if I ever had a criminal record in Canada or anywhere else

Congratulations. So happy for you. The time seem to come quick.
