Hi! I come from a country whose school calendar differs from that of the US. We asked to be processed expeditiously because if we won't, we're bound to enroll in April in the Philippines (petition is with a stepchild). And if our approval will be around that time, it would be late to look for a school in the US (we're actually late now as most schools have ended the application process last Dec). So it's financial hardship if we will pay for two overlapping schools in the same year, and education discontinuance in case we can't get into a US school this year.
Hi!
We are pretty much in the same boat. Did you have to send any documents/proof to support the request to expedite?
Thanks!

NVC received our AOS and IV documents last Tuesday. How soon do we get a scan date? Do they email you to let you know or do we have to call them?

I filed my taxes jointly with my wife. I'm filling out the I-184EZ form but I am stuck on the income question. My income is enough to support the beneficiary (my stepson). I have a W2, Tax Return Transcript from the IRS and FORM 1040. With all the figures on this forms, I am confuse which number to put and which should I base it on. Please help. Thanks!

I am the petitioner for my mum and used I864EZ even though I am married filing jointly. My immigration lawyer friend who we consulted with agreed this was correct. I meet the requirements from my W2s and I sent a copy of my W2 and also included a copy of my wife's (as it says to send all W2s and 1099s related to the return) but hand wrote on hers that it was sent only to show the breakdown of our income and that I am the ONLY sponsor. I haven't heard anything yet as I sent all docs a few weeks ago....
Thanks for the reply. Since you used the I864EZ, did you only attach a photocopy or transcript of your most recent year's tax return or did you do the optional last three years?

Can anyone help? Thanks!

I am petitioning my 12 year old stepson. We finally received our NVC case number, submitted the DS261 and paid the AOS fee. We are gathering the documents to be sent to NVC. Should I use the 1-864EZ? The only person listed on the petition is my stepson. The income I am using to qualify is based entirely on my salary (I have W2, ITR transcript to show this plus pay stubs). But I file my taxes jointly with my wife. Would this be an issue? Can I still use the 1-864EZ?
For the AOS/IV Packet, we will be submitting the Document Cover Sheet, beneficiary's birth certificate, beneficiary's bio page of passport, AOS form, W2, ITR and paystubs. Am I missing anything? Do we need to send My Wife and I's Marriage Certificate at this stage again? I'm also confused whether to include 2x2 photos of the beneficiary, I don't see that requirement on the welcome letter NVC sent us. Can we submit this instead during the interview at the embassy?
Based on what I read on the forum, I can send the AOS and IV Packet even before we pay the IV fee. I am still unable to pay it on the website. I will try to call NVC to see if they can unlock this for us.
Thanks a lot for your help!

Hello I recived NOA 2 on 10/30/17 it was approved on 10/27/17 by TSC. It has been passed the 30 days and i have heard nothing from NVC. I called today and they said they have not received my case. On the USCIS website it stills says case approved. IS anybody dealing with the same problem? How long did it take to hear from NVC?
Ours was approved Oct 12. After weeks of calling, NVC still have not received our case, so I spoke to USCIS to make sure they sent out our case to NVC. I spoke to a Tier 2 officer and they sent our case to NVC on November 15th. NVC received our case on the 24th. Just got our NVC case number today.

Is there anyone left over here in April filers ? Or you all gone off to NVC? Feeling lonesome ☹
We are still here! Although USCIS approved our petition in October 12, they only sent it to NVC last November 15 and until now, we have not moved forward with the process. Just hang in there!

anyone from TSC see their case sent to NVC? My NOA2 was on October 13th and I have called NVC several times and they still do not have it.
should i try talking to USCIS and a tier 2 rep there?
I just want this to speed up already! Getting very impatient.
Mine was approved Oct 12. I will try to call again today. I am thinking of calling USCIS, too and see if my case has been sent to NVC.

The i-130 petition for my minor stepson (standalone petition) has been approved. We are still waiting for the NVC Case number. I would like to request for expedite, I wonder if our reason would qualify for it. Last October 2016, due to a very strong typhoon, my father in-law's house was damaged, the entire roof was gone. The got a DSWD Disaster assistance card to prove this, aside from photos. They were able to do some repair but the ceiling still leaks and every time there's a non stop heavy rain/typhoon like what's happening at the moment, the house is flooded again. Would this be a possible reason to expedite. The kid will have his interview at USEM Manila.

Been a few weeks..hopefully nvc receives my case soon. Seems like it depends on what service center is transferring the case ...some approvals after mine are at nvc already.
I noticed cases from TSC take more time to get to NVC. By the way, we have the same approval date. I called TSC yesterday and they still don't have it.

hi
you will file the i864, if you were his biological parent then you would file the i864W, because when he entered the country he would derive your citizenship
he can't derive citizenship through a stepparent
thanks for the info. Is he getting an automatic 10 yr GC? That's what my wife have at the moment. She recently filed her N400. Still waiting for interview schedule.

I am petitioning my stepson. I am starting to gather the documents needed for the NVC stage. Do I fill out an I-184 or I-184W? I am a USC and my wife is permanent resident.

PDOS
in Philippines

I have been reading here that PDOS can be done before the interview at the embassy. However, when I visited their site, it says (You need an immigrant visa to secure an appointment for your attendance to the country specific CFO Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar.) Is there still a way to do the seminar ahead of the visa issuance?
